1 Managing Student Home Access Center Accounts in eschoolplus This is a step by step guide on how to maintain and troubleshoot your Home Access Center Accounts. Student Home Access Center Accounts Step 1: Locate the student who needs assistance in eschool To do this, go to the link underneath it is the folder and click on it to expand it. The first link. Click on the link. That will take you to the tab creen (as shown below). Type in part or all of the Last Name field. Verify that the Building and Current Status fields are correct before clicking on the button. Type in part or all of Last Name here. Select all statuses to pull up all students, not just active. Click Search to pull up student list meeting the criteria entered. Page 1

2 Step 2: Select the student name under Contact Information section the students name as shown below. on Click the link to the students contact information. Step 3: Verify information on the Student tab Clicking the student link will take you to the Student Addresses screen (shown on the next page). It will default you to the Student tab. There is one important thing to remember on this screen. 1. Web Access: This box must be checked in order for the student to be able to log into Home Access Center. If the box is not checked, the student Page 2

4 Step 4: Verify information on the General ab The General Tab contains the students Login ID, Password, and a link to exactly what the student can see when logging into Home Access Center. 1. Login ID: not see it, then the student does not have an account. You can create an account by typing a Login ID in the space provided. The Login ID should follow the naming convention of First Name followed by a period followed by Last name (no spaces in between). For example John Smith would be John.Smith. Common names may require you to add a number to the end of the login. For instance, there are four John Smith s in the district. The first John Smith would be John.Smith, the second John Smith would be John.Smith1, the third John Smith would be John.Smith2, and the fourth John Smith would be John.Smith3 and so on. 2. Password: a new account, you can enter a password. You can reset the password simply by entering a new one. Password must be at least 8 characters long and it is case sensitive. 3. Impersonate (HAC): This link allows you to see exactly what the student sees when logging into Home Access Center. This link displays only if you have the security resource to impersonate students in Home Access Center. You can click the Impersonate (HAC) link to open Home Access Center as if you were this student. If you do not have this link and feel that you need it, you can have your building administrator submit a ticket to give you access. Access to this can only be approved by your building administrator. If the student has a login, it would already be listed. You can create a new login ID by typing it in. You can reset the password by typing a new one here. (Password must be at least 8 characters long.) Click the Impersonate (HAC) link to view what the student is seeing in HAC. Page 4

5 Step 5: Other information regarding Home Access Center 1. Login IDs and Passwords ARE case sensitive. Even if you put the login or password in all caps, it does not require it to be entered in all caps to log in. 2. A student tells you that they cannot login to HAC. You should verify that the Web Access box is checked. 3. The Home Access Center link is: 4. Home Access Center is accessible from any computer in the world with an Internet Connection. 5. In order for students to view assignments in Home Access Center, teachers must check the Publish Items and Publish Scores boxes for EVERY assignment entered. See below Teachers can click the Edit All Assessments button to quickly check off the Publish boxes for each assignment. Once saved, the boxes become green check marks to indicate they have been published. Page 5
