1 BRIGGS ONLINE EDUCATION AND TESTING MODULES In order to gain access to the Power Portal, an instructor must first register for a Briggs & Stratton ID/Password at Once registered, educators have access to all of the Briggs Education Modules appearing on the Power Channel tab under Courses. There are basic, intermediate and advanced coursess available. All of the training modules are available for streaming to your classroom free of charge. Theree are also tests available for each course so that the educator can evaluate the performance of the class. In order to take a test on the Power Portal, a techniciann account must be createdd for each student using a unique address. Instructors must register their students with a personal technician account under the Instructor ss Briggs & Stratton ID in orderr to do testing. No testing can be done under your own Briggss & Stratton Instructor ID.You, too, must register a technician account. This is done to encourage you to go in andd take the testing modules so you can see what your students will be covering in each course. To use the testing resource, educators must register students technician accounts as outlined below.

2 How Testing Works Each Student/Technician must receive an invitation to login to the Power Portal to test and receive education credit. The tests are open book and untimed. You can take a test as many times as you would like but are limited to three attempts per day. All scores (passing and failing) are shared with the instructor s account. There is no waiting period before you can retake a test but students are limited to three attempts per day. We encourage you to use the online video courses as a resource to prepare for each test. A passing grade of 70% will meet the Briggs educational requirement Instructors will be able to monitor testing being done by their Students/technicians by logging into their Power Portal login and clicking on the My Test Information option. This provides the test results of each person registered under their Educator ID.. Setting up for testing Sign into using your Briggs & Stratton ID number and password. At the top of the opening screen take your cursor and click on the tab that says Power Channel. The Power Channel page will open. At the top of the page take your cursor and click on the words Register Technician Accounts

3 The register account page will open Enter the Student s First Name, Last Name and Personal address in required fields. After all information is added, click on the submit button. An will be sent to the address provided with instructions and a unique password for the student to log into the Power Portal for testing. Each student must have a unique Technician Account.

4 Student/Technician Account Login Students must check the registered address for unique password. Login into using your registered address as the user name and the password provided in the received. Once logged into a student s account the password may be changed by placing curser on the word Profile at top of page. The user name will always be the registered address. Student Account Testing At the top of the opening screen take your cursor and click on the tab that says Power Channel.

5 The Power Channel page will open. Click on the box that says Tests and choose which exam you would like to take. The exam you have chosen will open and is untimed. Once you finish the exam click the submit button and you will receive your score. It is possible to take the Master Services Technician (MST) and Dealer Competency Exams which require additional documentation for employment at warranty-capable Credentials. Briggs Dealerships.
