1 Fall 2019 Spring 2020 Housing Selection Screenshot Guide Selection Process Step 1: Log in. You will log in the same way they logged in to complete the application. You should have received an that included a link to the website ( and your selection time. Step 2: Click the Apply/Select Here button on the top.

2 Step 3: Select the Continue button next to the appropriate term selector (Academic Year ). Step 4: The first screen you see should be that of the Housing Status node. At this point, you have completed the application and signed the contract. Now, it s time to select! Click the Save & Continue button.

3 Step 5: You should now be on the Room Selection node. You can use the tools to the left to search for specific room types, locations, as well as price ranges. Each option is accompanied by information about the room. Line 1 - The building abbreviation and room number (i.e. BL-203A = Blue Ridge 203A). o The list of building abbreviations is at the bottom of step 5. Line 2 A number and a bed icon. This tells you how many beds are in the room. 1 being a single, 2 being a double, and 3 being a triple. Line 3 The price per semester for the room. Line 4 The full name of the residence hall. Line 5 The campus where the residence hall is located. Line 6 Show Room Info. Click this if you would like to see the information above and more specific details about the space. Building Abbreviations (Upperclass Halls Only): BL = Blue Ridge EA = Eastern Shore HR = Hampton Roads LS = Liberty Square MG = Mason Global Center NN = Northern Neck PI = Piedmont PH = Potomac Heights RG = Rogers SH = Sandbridge TA, TB, or TC = Townhouses TD = Tidewater WH = Whitetop

4 Step 6: Click the Add to Cart button under the space that you want. Once you have the space that you want in your cart, click the Save & Continue button. If you accidently add the wrong room to your cart, you are able to remove the room using the Remove from Cart button that is now beneath the space. Please note: Adding a room to your cart will also add adjoining bedrooms within the suite (as seen below with BL-203A and 203B) or other bedrooms in the same apartment (I.e. LS 105 A, B, C, D) to your cart. This is not an error. All of the spaces are added to your cart so that you can add yourself and group members to the same suite/apartment. Students going through selection as individuals will be able to select one space within the room and the rest will be released. Also note that you can only select one apartment or suite to add to your cart. For example, you would not be able to add BL-203A and BL-204B to your cart.

5 Step 7: Click the Select Bed dropdown menu to select the specific bed space that you would like to occupy. If you are selecting for a group, this is also where you will add them to specific beds as well. Click the Assign Beds button at the bottom of the screen to move to the next screen. Step 8: Confirm that this is the bed space that you (and your group) want to reserve for next academic year. You will not be able to adjust your space once you click Save and Continue. This is your final opportunity to select Go Back and adjust your selection. Click Save and Continue to move to the next node.

6 Step 9. Select a meal plan using the dropdown menu. Students living in a suite are required to select a meal plan on this page. Students living in an apartment can choose to select a meal plan or simply move to the next node. If any adjustments need to be made to your meal plan, then you will need to contact the Mason Card Office. Step 10. The next page serves as a confirmation that you have selected an assignment for next academic year, provides you with a summary for the booking, and displays your housing status. The final step in the selection process is for you to submit the $300 pre-payment. Failure to pay the pre-payment or get approved for a waiver by 5 pm on February 26 will result in your housing being canceled. If you selected for a group, your group members will get an notifying them that a space has been selected and that they should now log in to pay the pre-payment as well. Click Continue to proceed.

7 Step 11. Now that you are in the pre-payment section of the process, you have the option of requesting a pre-payment. The pre-payment waiver is for students experiencing financial hardship and unable to pay the pre-payment at this time. Students that would like to request a pre-payment waiver should select Yes in the dropdown menu and click Save and Continue (proceed through steps 12-13). If you do not need a pre-payment waiver, then please select No in the dropdown menu and click Save and Continue (Skip to step 14). The deadline to submit the pre-payment or have an approved waiver is February 26 at 5pm. Failure to pay the pre-payment or get approved for a waiver by 5 pm on February 26 will result in your housing being canceled. Step 12. Students requesting a pre-payment waiver will need to select a reason from the dropdown menu and then upload supporting documentation. Click Save and Continue to proceed.

8 Step 13. Your pre-payment waiver request has been submitted! If approved, your application is complete and there is nothing further that you need to do. If denied, then you will need to log back in to the housing portal to pay the prepayment. Step 14. This page provides a description of the charge and the total amount. Click the Proceed to Payment Gateway button to continue. If you see an amount other than $300, please contact housing@gmu.edu.

9 Step 15. Enter your payment information into the fields provided and then check the box at the bottom that reads, By checking this box you are agreeing to the above Refund Policy Agreement. If you would like an ed receipt of this tranaction, then be sure to enter your under the Contact Information section. Click Continue to proceed. It may take a few seconds for the payment to be processed, so be sure to only click Continue once and then wait a moment.

10 Step 16. Once your payment has been processed, you will see the following screen showing that your payment was successful and a receipt of the tranaction. Be sure to print this screen for future reference.

11 Step 17. Congratulations! You have successfully completed the selection process and you have an assignment for academic year This final page documents your booking summary, roommate information, and that you have completed the process. Unless notiffied by Housing and Residence Life, there is nothing further that you need to do. If you went through selection as an individual or your group did not completely fill up a space, then we encourage you to check back periodically to see if a new room- or suitemate has been added.
