1 Accessing Outlook Live through the Enterprise Portal First-Time JHU Portal Login Procedure The first time you access your Johns Hopkins Outlook Live account you must go through the University enterprise portal: The first time you log in to the portal, you need to do a few things before you can access Outlook Live. All users will need to agree to the Johns Hopkins Outlook Live Terms of Service, and some students may also need to select their primary campus. If applicable, the Primary Campus screen will appear first: Use the pull-down menu to select your campus, and then click the Submit button. Be careful to select the appropriate location. For example, students at the School of Medicine would choose East Baltimore, and students at the School of Advanced International Studies in Washington, DC, campus would chose SAIS. Click the submit button once you have made your primary campus selection.

2 Next you will see the Outlook Live Terms of Service page. Please read the Terms of Service and then accept them at the bottom of the page. You need to pay special attention to the password information at the top of the Terms of Service page: 2

3 First-Time Outlook Live Login Procedure After you accept the Outlook Live Terms of Service, your Johns Hopkins Outlook Live account is accessible through the JHU enterprise portal by clicking the Outlook Live quick link on the left side of the page. The first time you go to the Outlook Live site you will be required to enter an initial password and set a new Outlook Live password. You will also be asked to personalize your account by selecting and answering questions that can later be used to identify you in case you forget your Microsoft Outlook Live password. Your initial password has the form MMDDXXXXX where MMDD is your birthdate and XXXXX is the last five (5) digits of your social security number. Please note that the new password you will set on the Outlook Live site is separate and independent from the JHED password that you use to log in to the portal and other internal JHU sites: JHED password is used to access internal JHU services and the enterprise portal, including the Outlook Live link in the portal Outlook Live ID and password are used to access your Outlook Live account when you are not logged into the JHU enterprise portal. The Outlook Live password may also be required to access related Microsoft services such as instant messaging and shared SkyDrive folders. 3

4 After setting your new Outlook Live password, establishing your personal Outlook Live identity, and accepting Microsoft s Terms of Service, you will need to verify your settings and log in to Outlook Live again using your Outlook Live ID and the new Outlook Live password. Initial Password New Outlook Live Password Click on the Sign In button to access your Outlook Live account using your Outlook Live ID and your new password: 4

Your Outlook Live ID is: LID@live.johnshopkins.edu (where LID is your Johns Hopkins Login ID). This will also work as an email address.

6 The first time you access your Outlook Live account you will need to choose your preferred language and set your time zone. The correct time zone for Baltimore is Eastern Time (GMT - 05:00). Enter language and time zone 6

7 Once you have clicked OK on the previous page, initial configuration of your Outlook Live account is complete and you will be logged in and able to use , Calendar, SkyDrive, Instant Messaging, and other related Outlook Live and Microsoft services. Access SkyDrive storage Help Button 7
