1 Enterprise System Integratin Prject Stage 3 Purchase rder submissin, invice receipt and matching Prerequisites Practice f week 9 - Availability check, purchase rder receipt, scheduling (.Net) Intrductin This practice starts with the develpment f the finance mdule. It describes hw t create a message queue and includes an example f hw t cnsume the incming messages. In this stage f the prject, yu will have t include the feature fr checking the availability f a given plant in real time in yur request handler mdule. The deliverables f this hmewrk (see end f the dcument) have t be ready by Nvember 12 th, 10:00 am. Late submissins will receive a penalty. Creating a JMS queue First f all, yu will need t create a JMS queue n the GlassFish server. This can be dne using the administratin cnsle f GlassFish. Yu need t create tw things: a JMS Cnnectin Factry t manage the JMS cnnectins (i.e. sending messages), and a JMS Destinatin Resurce (i.e. the queue itself). 1. T create the cnnectin factry, expand the menu items Resurces -> JMS Resurces -> Cnnectin Factries, then add a new cnnectin factry with the fllwing parameters: a. Pl Name: jms/yurlgin_cnnectinfactry b. Type: javax.jmscnnectinfactry 2. T create the JMS destinatin resurces, g t the menu item Destinatin Resurces, and create a new destinatin resurce with the fllwing parameters: a. JNDI Name: jms/yurlgin_queuepo b. Physical destinatin: yurlgin_queuepo c. Type: javax.jms.queue

2 2 d. Descriptin: sme descriptin here Nw yu have a JMS cnfiguratin ready t serve Message-Driven Beans (MDBs). Creating Message-Driven Bean and a Web Applicatin A message-driven bean is a type f Enterprise Java Bean (EJB) that reacts t incming events, which are typically messages arriving ver a JMS queue. We want t create a Web applicatin that cmmunicates with an MDB. Rather than creating tw separate prjects, it is mre cnvenient that yu create a single prject f type Java enterprise applicatin. The fllwing example shws hw t use the queue created abve, and it is expected t receive the data frm a given purchase rder when receiving the invice, and it is necessary t check that all the infrmatin match (dates f engagement, price, etc.). Hwever, yu culd use additinal queues in ther parts f the prject. 1. Create a Java enterprise applicatin prject 2. Create an EJB prject. In the windw where yu fill in the name f the prject, put in the EAR membership sectin the name f the Java enterprise applicatin yu created abve 3. Create an MDB, right-clicking n the EJB prject -> New -> Message-Driven Bean, use the fllwing parameters: a. Java Package : mdbs b. Class Name : yurlgin_mdb c. Destinatin Name : jms/yurlgin_queuepo 4. The previus step creates the skeletn cde fr an MDB. This MDB is cnfigured t react t messages n the JMS queue yu previusly created. Yu need t implement the nmessage(...) methd, belw we give the skeletn f the cde. 3 3 5. TO TEST YOUR QUEUE: Create a Dynamic Web Prject specifying in the EAR membership the name f the Java enterprise applicatin yu created befre. 6. We nw need t implement a servlet that will handle the data submitted thrugh this simple frm. This servlet will then act as the client f the MDB by frwarding the received text message t the MDB created earlier. T d this, right-click n Web applicatin nde and select New -> Servlet. Change its Name t sendmessage (the actin assciated t the frm yu previusly develped) -> Finish. a. Change the dget(..) methd bdy t the cde belw (yu will need t include sme classes frm packages javax.jms and javax.naming). 8. Deply yur Java enterprise Applicatin, when yu send the message yu write in the text field f yur index.jsp, yu will bserve that the message is cnsumed and printed in the cnsle f yur glassfish server (as specified in the methd nmessage). Receiving Invices 1. Implement a service in yur Finance Mdule fr receiving the invices frm the plant suppliers. Yu culd use a queue (it culd receive a message cntaining an XML invice encded in a string), REST r SOAP. Fr the last tw ptins, yu can make yur implementatins in the Dynamic Web Prject created inside the enterprise applicatin. 2. Once yu have received an invice, extract the id f the crrespnding Purchase Order and request the cmplete infrmatin f it t the Plant Hire Request mdule (Java mdule develped previus weeks). 3. The Plant Hire Request mdule shuld place the infrmatin f the requested Purchase Orders in the queue created abve.

Mdify yur nmessage methd, such that, yu extract the Purchase Order frm the received message. 2. Yu will need t cmpare the data f the invice with the infrmatin f the Purchase Order (Dates f engagement, price, etc.). If there is nt any bservatin r any disagreement has emerged frm the cmparisn between the Purchase rder and received invice, yu can prceed t execute a pssible payment.

5 5 Additinal tasks 1. Add the functinality t yur applicatin fr check the availability f a given plant with the Plant Supplier. This functinality has t be available already in yur.net prject. Deliverables An HG clne named TeamXAssignment3 n yur Mercurial rep, where X = yur team's number. The HG clne shuld cntain the cde f the mdified applicatin and the mdified test The mdified applicatin deplyed n the GlassFish in ATS Server with the name TeamXAssignment3 Tw tests in yur Jenkins jb deplyed n the Jenkins server with name TeamXAssignment3 cnfigured t test the applicatin deplyed n the Glassfish server: Test the creatin f a purchase rder (PO) given the id f a hire request. Yu will need t prvide tw tests: The PO has been sent successfully t the plant supplier, The PO has been rejected by the plant supplier because the plant is nt lnger available Test the service fr receiving the invices. Test bth cases: The data frm the invice and the ne stred match, There are disagreements between the amunts. Test when the finance mdule receives an Invice. Test bth cases: The extracted Purchase Order cntained in the invice exists (successfully returned by the Plant Hire Request mdule) The extracted Purchase Order cntained in the invice des nt exist Nte: Yu d nt need t send anything t the lab assistant. Just make sure that the HG clne is created, the applicatin is deplyed and the Jenkins jb is created and runs.
