2 Login 1.1 Login password cannot be changed within OBMS. Those who have access to HICO, CPS can change their passwords within those systems. Others Call Help Desk to change password. Table View Quick Filter 2.1 Table View - Subset 3.1 A subset is not automatically updated if there have been sites added or deleted from the database. A subset not used for a period of time may not be up-to-date based on the sites in the database. Remove all sites from the subset, rerun any filters used to generate the subset and add all sites back to the subset. Table View - Reports 4.1 Check-in/ Check-out (*** For MTO Bridge Office Staff ONLY***) When the check-in of the data is started after log-in, there is a delay before the progress bar appears at the bottom of the check-in screen and it appears as if the system is not responding. Get error message The process cannot access the file C:\Documents and settings\.mdb because it is being used by another process.. An hourglass should appear when check-in starts. Wait for the progress bar to appear. A lock file with extension.ldb has been created for the database you are trying to check-in. Close OBMS and delete the lock file corresponding to the database you are trying to checkin and try the check-in again. If problems persist, contact the Administrator. A lock file is created when the application has not closed properly. Usually an error occurred during the session, which caused the application to close improperly. 5.3 The default folder for check-out database is shown as C:\Program files\bms\data, but it should be C:\Documents and Settings\youruserid\My Documents\BMS Data The default folder can be changed Page 1

3 Inventory Identification 6.1 Integrated Highway Information System (IHIS) referencing data is not available for some structures. LHRS data in Inventory//Identification /referencing screen can be modified Most of the missing data will be populated in a future update from IHIS. 6.2 A structure cannot be deleted in the database on the server. Contact the Administrator to delete a site. This is an Administrator function. 6.3 The BCI displayed does not reflect the BCI for the latest inspection completed. After all data is checked-in each year, a check is done of the BCI displayed on the General tab and the values updated if required. Does not happen frequently or consistently. The cause of the error has not yet been identified. Description Screen - Bridges 7.1 The last digit of the deck length and overall area get changed when displayed on the form. Ex displays as Element Screen 8.1 Element order not saved after saving using save icon. Close the element screen this will prompt you to save the element order Element Report 9.1 Element report is not available Inspections 10.1 The Key Aspects updated on the Identification-Comments tab are not displaying as updated below the Inspection grid. The Inspections grid has to be closed and reopened after an update is dine to Key Aspects on the Identification- Comments tab For Enhanced OSIM inspection marked as Completed Regular OSIM, warning message is not prompted to force users to add reasons. Users should add reasons in this case. Page 2

4 10.3 If Special Notes in Edit Inspection Screen need to be revised for an inspection already marked as complete and with no BCI Validation required, a wrong BCI Validation message will be prompted saying BCI is the same. If revision to Special Notes is not required, just click Cancel. If required, click OK for the BCI Validation message. Revise the Special Notes and enter at least one character in BCI Validation box and click OK Inspection Biennial Detail Tab 11.1 In Biennial inspection screen condition data for those elements with unit All cannot be entered if data for insp_qty column is missing. If no quantity is available enter During data entry for condition data, after completing several entries, the cursor disappears from view. The cursor re-appears after few seconds. This is due to background checking of data by the application When a new element is added in the inspection screen, it is added to the bottom of the screen In the Element screen, move (cut & paste) the new element to the desired location. Save and close screen. This will move the element in the inspection screen to the correct location 11.4 The camera icon to view inspection photos does not work in a check-out database and on the server. Camera icon is disabled in Element view the way the software is designed for its current version. Instead, inspection photos can be viewed in Document screen. 5 11.6 Title of this tab may need to be renamed. Note that OSIM inspection frequency can actually be 1, 2 or 4 years. Inspection Inspection Report 12.1 In some cases when printing from Oracle, elements are missing from the report. Contact Bridge Office and report site and inspection date with problem to have the error fixed. Bug related to notes/comments associated to elements. Documents 13.1 Adding contract drawings gives an error. The error is due to validation of the contract number field when the dash is entered as part of the contract number. Add each drawing without the contract number first. Go back and edit each drawing record and enter the contract number with the dash. The Edit Document Details validates Contract # correctly, allowing a dash character. Page 4
