Note: Before Installing and configuring the HP POS Keyboard please make sure the device is connected. 1 P a g e

2 HP POS Keyboard with MSR You can download HP Tools from: You can also download the.ccf file that is used to program the MSR for Track 1 and Track 2: onfiletrack1and2.zip 1. Run the install file. 2. Select English then select OK. 2 P a g e

3 3. Select Next. 4. Select I accept the license agreement 5. Then select Next. 3 P a g e

4 6. Have Designer selected, the select Next. 7. Select Next to install the application. 4 P a g e

5 8. Select Finish. 9. At this point, you will be prompted to restart the system. Select Yes to restart the system. 5 P a g e

6 After the computer restarts, open the HP Designer software: 1. Select Modify active configuration of a keyboard and then select Next. 2. Leave Do not confirm read or write of configuration unchecked. 3. Select Next. 6 P a g e

7 4. Select the Magnetic card tab on the left. 5. Then Select Open. We are going to load the.ccf file that will program the MSR for Track 1 and Track Select the Hp keyboard with MSR Track 1&2.ccf file. 7. Select Open. 8. Select Activate, which will send the new configuration information to the keyboard. 7 P a g e

8 9. Leave Do not confirm read or write of configuration unchecked. 10. Select Next. 11. The configuration is now saved. 8 P a g e

9 12. A Test window will pop up, swipe a card to test. The first line should start with "%" and end with "?" And the second line should start with ";" and with "?" The MSR is now programmed for Tracks 1 and 2. You can now exit the HP Designer. 9 P a g e

10 Manually Enabling Track 1 and Track 2 If loading the.ccf file does not work, follow these steps to manually enable Track 1 and Track Open the HP Designer software, Select Modify active configuration of a keyboard and then select Next. 2. Leave Do not confirm read or write of configuration unchecked. 3. Select Next. 10 P a g e

11 4. Select the Magnetic card tab on the left. 5. Under Tracks select Track 1 and then make sure that Enabled is checked. 6. Under Header make sure that Enabled is checked. 7. Under Terminator make sure that Enabled is checked. 11 P a g e

12 8. Under Track 1 Header select Edit. 9. Press the Shift key using the on screen keyboard then the 5 key, select OK. 12 P a g e

13 10. Under Header the following should be in the field: Shift left Under Track 1 Terminator select Edit. 12. Press the Shift key using the on screen keyboard then the / key, finally select the Enter key, and then select OK. 13 P a g e

14 13. Under Terminator the following should be in the field: Shift right / Enter 14. Under Tracks select Track 2 and then make sure that Enabled is checked. 14 P a g e

15 15. Under Tracks select Track 2 and then make sure that Enabled is checked. 16. Under Header make sure that Enabled is checked. 17. Under Terminator make sure that Enabled is checked. 18. Under Track 2 Header select Edit. 15 P a g e

16 19. Press the Semicolon (;) key using the on screen keyboard then, select OK. 20. Under Track 2 Terminator Select Edit. 21. Press the Shift key using the on screen keyboard then the / key, finally select the Enter key, and then select OK. 16 P a g e
