5 To set up the Honeywell / Metrologic 2320 and connect it to your computer, follow these steps. 1. Connect end 2 of cable 3 into the left side of the 2320 where it says Scanner RS232 to Host. 2. Connect the pole display into the right side of the 2320 where it says SCALE RS485 to Display 3. Connect end 1 of cable 2 into the right side of the 2320 where it says DC Power In. 4. Connect end 2 of cable 1 into end 2 of cable 2. 5 P a g e

6 5. Plug end 1 of cable 3 into a serial port on your computer. 6. Plug end 1 of cable 1 into a power outlet. This should cause the blue lights on the scale to turn on. 7. The pole display should display If it doesn t, zero the scale. 6 P a g e

7 Configuring the Scale with the Metroset Application After making any of the following changes to the scale you will need to contact Weights and Measures to make sure the scale are certified and weighing items properly. The Metroset Configuration Utility can be downloaded from: Install the Metroset Configuration Utility 1. After the downloaded file has been extracted run the Metroset_Configuration_Utility.exe. 2. Select Next. 3. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement. 4. Select Next. 7 P a g e

9 Configure the Scale via the Metroset Configuration Utility **Please skip this step if you are using a supported Serial to USB Adaptor.** After making any of the following changes to the scale you will need to contact Weights and Measures to make sure the scale is certified and weighing items properly. The Configuration file for the MS2020 can be downloaded from: After the files have been downloaded, extract them to a preferred location. 1. Select the + next to Bi-Optic Scanners. 2. Select the Stratos 20xx/21xx/23xx. 3. Select Configure Stratos 20xx/21xx/23xx Scanner. 4. Select Open File. 5. Select the extracted Configuration file Select MS2320US_Metroset_kg_config.mst to configure to scale to work with kilograms Select MS2320US_Metroset_lb_config.mst to configure to scale to work with pounds 6. Configuring the Scale when using a Serial to USB Adaptor When using the Serial to USB adaptor, Metroset will not download the configuration file directly to the scale.

Select the Stratos 20xx/21xx/23xx. 3. Select Configure Stratos 20xx/21xx/23xx Scanner. 4. Select Open File. 5. Select the extracted Configuration file 6. Select MS2320US_Metroset_kg_config.

11 Configuring the Scale when using a Serial to USB Adaptor When using the Serial to USB adaptor, Metroset will not download the configuration file directly to the scale. Metroset can be used to load the configuration file and print the programming barcodes that need to be scanned on the scale to configure it. 1. Select the + next to Bi-Optic Scanners. 2. Select the Stratos 20xx/21xx/23xx. 3. Select Configure Stratos 20xx/21xx/23xx Scanner. 4. Select Open File. 5. Select the extracted Configuration file 6. Select MS2320US_Metroset_kg_config.mst to configure to scale to work with kilograms 7. Select MS2320US_Metroset_lb_config.mst to configure to scale to work with pounds 8. Select Open. 9. Under Options, make sure Confirmation Prompts and Print Bar Codes w/descriptions are both enabled. 11 P a g e

Setting up the Honeywell / Metrologic 2020 to work with CRE Once the Honeywell / Metrologic 2020 is setup, connected to the computer, and powered on, you can set up CRE to use it as a

13 Setting up the Honeywell / Metrologic 2020 to work with CRE Once the Honeywell / Metrologic 2020 is setup, connected to the computer, and powered on, you can set up CRE to use it as a barcode scanner and a weight scale. To do so, start your computer, start CRE, select Manager, provide the requested credentials, and follow these steps. 1. Select Setup and then Setup Screen. 2. Select the Hardware tab, Page 1 3. Under the Weight Scale Primary section, select the COM port that the scanner/scale is connected to. **Note** Many systems have labels on the ports that contain this information. If yours does not, select COM 1. You may need to select other COM ports later if CRE does not find the scale. 4. Select Metrologic MS2020 for Primary Scale Type. 13 P a g e

16 4. The required information for the item is on the top one-third of the screen: The Department this item will be inside of (ex: SWEATERS). A unique Item Number (ex: Sweater01, or the barcode of the item). A Description, which will print on the receipts (ex: short sleeve v-neck). Your Cost, which is the price you pay. The Price you charge the customer. An optional # In Stock value if you track stock levels. Various tax options if you charge tax for this item. If you would like the item to automatically be weighed when the Item Number is entered on the invoice screen, select the option Auto-Weigh. Enter the optional tare amount. 5. 17 Usage Guide After logging into CRE you can place the item on the scale select the W button. Select the tare amount you would like to be included with this item (if any). The weight of the item will then be entered into the Quantity box. Scan the barcode of the item. 17 P a g e

18 The item will then be added to the invoice. The price of the item will be calculated based on the weight that was calculated and the price of the item entered in inventory maintenance. If the option Auto-Weigh was enabled in Inventory Maintenance then you can place the item on the scale and then scan the barcode for it without pressing the W button. 18 P a g e
