3 Start You can start PPL 10.0, by pressing the JAVA-Link on your desktop twice. After that the registration window will open. Registration Enter your username (Benutzername) and Password (Passwort). (If you have had a standard installation, the username will be ppladmin and the password admin4ppl ) PPL 10 consists of two modules. On one hand there is the module Warehouse, which is a management software for project, stocks and warehouses. On the other hand there is the module Design, were it is possible to create drawing solutions with a resulting material lists. The Program will open in Project in the Module Warehouse. In that input window it is possible to create new projects and manage them over the whole building process. 5 Input Screen Project The input screen is structured into two parts. In the top is the data header. Here it is possible to enter new or chance exist data. In the List Area (bottom), the several projects are showed in a table. In the Data header are showed the data of the respective Project, which can be selected in the List Area. The data header can disappear over the Icon and appear over that Icon. The project data is structured in the following areas and registers: Project Planning Delivery Warehouse stock : Project name, customer (client), Project address and Contact data : Formwork plan, Material list, Shortage, Phase info. 6 Create a new project Select the Icon (empty sheet) in the toolbar. After that the fields in the drawing header will get empty. Enter in the section Project the accordingly data. The Flies, which are marked with a star (*), are required fields. In the section Customer, exist customer can be choosen. Over the Icon number ). it is possible to create new customers and enter their data (address, contact You can save the entered Data by pressing the save button. 7 Each project gets a yard number assigned, these yard number is suggested. But it is also possible to select another exist stock. Save the Data with the Icon Save. An ongoing project number will be generated. The new project will be add to the list below. Create a new formwork plan. Select the project in the List Area (The row will deposited blue). Press with the left cursor on the registry planning. Another possibility to get to the planning registry is to press twice on the project number in the List area. The registry planning will open. 12 Properties window Mark an element in the drawing area (e.g. wall) to get further information about the entered properties. It is also possible to change properties and volutes. While drawing a ground plan you have to enter the wall wide and height as well as the Wall type (Concrete, Brick or Pre-exist). The formwork solution can be influenced, by the offer system and max. panel width. 13 Window: Library On one hand the Library is used for manual placed formwork with formwork items. On the other gand, in the Symbol library, it is possible to insert symbols like standard sections or details. 14 Keyboard and Mouse Available commands at the keyboard <Enter> Confirm < Delete > Delete <Tab> <Esc> F5 <Control> <Space bar> Next box Stop Zoom all (boarders) With pressed <STRG> several elements can be selected with the mouse. Repeat the last command Available commands at the keyboard There are several functions, which are directly available with the mouse. Left mouse bottom Press with the the left mouse key on an element to select the element. The selected element gets marked. Furthermore elements can be selected by keeping <Contr.> pressed. If a marked element gets selected again, it will be remote from the section. If you hold the left mouse button pressed and move it inside the drawing area a field will open. This is a further option to selecta group of items. Keep attention at the direction: From the left top to the right bottom (green selection box); all elements, that are inside the box, will be selected. From the right bottom to the left top (red selection box); all elements that touch the selection box are marked. Mouse wheel Dynamic zoom If the wheel is rotate to the front, the drawing will get taller. If the wheel is rotated to the back, the drawing will get smaller Zoom all (boarders) By pressing twice on the mouse wheel, the zoom will show all items that are available in the drawing. 15 Pan 3D If you hold the mouse wheel pressed, hold <control> pressed and move the mouse, you can change the 3D-view. By using the command you must be in the 3D view before. Right mouse key The normal click with the right mouse key equivalents an <Enter>. If a command is active, (e.g. wall) the system will overtake the position from the mouse as wall length. In thereupon the wall will be drawn. The right mouse key opens a context menu, if there is an element selected. CAD options The CAD options are divided in several topics. For example under the registry snap you can set witch different snaps are activated in the drawing area. (The representation below is default.) 16 Change Cut Height By pressing double on the field Cut Height in the status line, a dialog box will open, there it is possible to edit the cut height. Construction of a ground plan In the following chapter is declared, how to create a ground plan. It is necessary to keep attention on the right orientation of the wall side. If you work anticlockwise the orientation of the wall side is on the left, according on that clockwise it is on the right, by default adjustment. 17 We start with the top wall, wall 1 and draw the ground plan clockwise. We activate in the toolbox the registry Wall 3D and select the function wall. In the property window are default: Justification: Left Wall width = 30cm Wall height = 270cm Wall type = Concrete Phase No. = Phase 1 (can be changed later) Pipe type =PVC (it is possible to change between PVC and fibre concrete) Wall 1 Press into the drawing area and move the cursor to the right. You can recognize the justification with the blue helping line. Over the keyboard you can enter 750, 0 cm and confirm with <Enter> or press ok. Wall 2 The new wall starts at the end of the first wall. 18 Wall 3 and 4 Move the cursor to the right, enter 395, 0 cm and confirm. For wall 4 repeat the command in the same way as wall two. Wall 5 Move the cursor down left and press the right mouse bottom, a context menu will open. Here you can choose Relative coordinates <r> Enter with the keyboard the delta of the X and the delta of the Y after that you can confirm with <Enter> or press ok. Wall 6 Move the cursor to the left, until the system offers the blue helping line at the end of the top wall. 19 Wall 7 Move the cursor to the top and press 700, 0 cm. Variant Wall 5 (drawing with helping line) Change in the toolbox in the registry Draw 2D and choose the function K-Line Choose the right wall side as reference line and move the cursor to the left, enter 300 as distance between the construction line and the wall end. Confirmed with <Enter>. Repeat the function, by pressing space, the command construction line will be active again. Pick the horizontal end of wall No. 4, move the cursor down and enter the distance from 205. Confirm with <Enter>. Change the registry to Wall 3D and choose the function Wall. Move the cursor to the right low wall side, the system will offer a snap point (red circle), confirm that point by pressing left mouse key. 20 Inner wall 8 Choose the function wall again. Move the Cursor to the inside of wall No. 6 (left half), the system shows a help line with an input box. In that case the input box refers on the left side. The red cross shows on which wall side the dimension refers. It is possible to flip the wall side, by pressing the right mouse key, while the command is active. After that a menu opens, were you can select Flip wall side <f>. Move the cursor perpendicular up and enter the wall length of 300 cm. Confirm with <Enter>. Press <ESC> to finish the wall function. Pre-existing wall Pre-existing walls are also drawn with the wall function, but they have the wall type Pre-existing. It is necessary to draw three construction lines. Select in the toolbox 3D Wall the function wall and change the wall type on Pre-existing. Move the cursor to the right intersection and press left mouse key. 21 Wall 7 Wall 7 should get an offset at the wall bottom edge. To do that the wall 7 must be divided with the command separate walls. The vertical offset is on the same height as the wall end from wall 8. We construct a helping line with the command construction line again. Move the cursor to the intersection of the helping line and the wall inside. The system offers you the red circle as snap. After that you have to press on the intersection at the wall outsite, while the command is still active. Press the left mouse key to confirm the command. Wall No. 7 is now divided in 7a and 7b. Edit wall base of wall 7a Press with the curser in wall No. 7a to select the wall. The wall will marked yellow. Press the right mouse bottom and choose in the submenu Wall elevation/height. A dialog will open Wall elevation/height. Enter in the field elevation 30 cm and close the dialog with OK. 22 Modify of the wall top from wall No.1 Select wall No. 1, by pressing on the wall with the left mouse bottom. The wall will get yellow. Choose in the toolbox Wall 3D the function Upper Lower Edge (Or in submenu ->right mouse key) The dialog Wall elevation/height will open: At the screen the wall start with (A) and the Wall end with (B) is marked. The wall height in (A) is 270 and the wall height in (B) will be changed in 400 cm. Delete the tick Same as wall start and enter the height of 400 cm. Confirm the modify with OK. 23 Opening In the wall 1 should be a door and window opening entered. Select in the toolbox the registry Wall 3D and there the command Opening. Over the properties you can enter the dimensions of the opening. With <Tab> you can change between window height, length and parapet height. After the properties for the opening are settled, move the cursor to the inside of wall 1. The system offers you a helping dimension. You can enter the given distance (in that case 100cm). Confirm the input with <Enter>. Further Openings Press <Space> to repeat the command. You can change the dimensions, if necessary. And create the other openings in the same way. 24 Automatic wall dimension In the toolbox under the registry Wall 3D you can find the command Wall dimension. Press the button and all walls will have dimensions. Edit the dimension, by moving the cursor over the dimension and pressing the right mouse key. The dimension will marked. Deled the dimension of 9, 3 cm and select the dimension 190, 7 witch is on the left side. Pick the blue pick point on the left, by pressing the left mouse key. 25 Manuel dimension Press in the toolbox under the registry Draw 2D the command Dimension. The system asks for the first point of the dimension, press in the left corner. After that the system asks for the second point, which we define in the top right corner. To finish the command the system asks for the distance from the dimension to the wall. Here is the status line, which shows the next step. It is not possible to delete the automatic dimension complete in one step. Under CAD Options styles and distance can be changed. If the hook is in the box Update automatically, the dimension is automatic adjusting, when the ground plan is amended. Deled or fade out helping line The no longer needed construction lines can be deled or fade out. To fade out, press with the right mouse key in the drawing field. The filter witch are created are offered in the list. Press with the left mouse key on the construction lines, herby the helping lines will be hidden. 26 Ground plan split in two phases To separate phases you have to use the Phase Separator, which is inside the toolbox under the registry Wall 3D. Select the command and move the cursor to the outside of wall 5. The system offers you the helping dimension. Enter the distance with your keyboard. (100cm from right wall side) Confirm with <Enter>. The separator (symbol) is embed now. Set order phases The ground plan should shuttered in two phases, in which the under section is phase one and the top section is phase two. Move the cursor to a wall, which is in the second section (e.g. Wall 3). Select the wall and change in the phase properties from phase 1, which is default, to phase 2. 27 Create the formwork Choose in the toolbar under the registry Wall formwork the function Calculate formwork. The below showen dialog will appear. Choose in the box which system you want to use. Confirm with OK. The formwork will calculated and will be showed in the drawing window. In that example the formwork of wall 7b is not showed. You have to edit the Cut Height in the Status line. Here for you have to press twice on the default Cut Height and enter 40 cm in the dialog box. 29 Edit formwork manual Change in the Isometry North-East. Select an Element, by pressing on an element with the left mouse button. The element will marked yellow. Delete the element, by pressing <delete> on the keyboard. Delete the other three elements in the same way. If you delete or move formwork, the accessories will be delete at the whole wall. 30 Add elements manual Open the hierarchic structure, by pressing twice on a folder, the folder will be open. Press twice on an element (e.g. Logo.3 panel 75x240) and move the cursor to the drawing area. The selected element is now interconnected with the curser and can placed in the drawing, with the help of snap. The element should be in a lying position and double sided placed on the wall. Here for you have to press the right mouse key to open the menu with further options. Select Double sided <b> and Rotate <d> Move the cursor to the insertion, the system will show you a red cycle, which means here is a snap available. By pressing the left mouse key both elements will be embed at the wall. Repeat the process and embed also the Logo.3 Element 40x240cm. 31 After all elements placed in the drawing, it is neccessary to calculate the accessorys new. Here for you have to press the button Calculate accessorys, witch is in the toolbox in the regestry wall formwork. Function Wall view on and Wall view off Create wall view from wall 7 Press the icon Wall view on. The system just shows the active phase. Press with the the curser on wall 7a and Wall 7b. Both walls will marked yellow. Move the cursor next to the wall, in the same time red arrows will appear that give the line of sight. 32 The Result: Wall view wall 7, line of sight: from outside The wall view must finished with the function Wall view off. Assign adjustable props and platform brackets In the menu bar, in the registry formwork, you can select the function Assign platform bracket. 33 Move the cursor on the left side of the wall, red or green arrows will appear. On one hand there is the red arrow to delete the platform bracket on a side, on the other hand there is the green arrow that gives you the possibility to add platform bracket on a side. Deled platform bracket add (perform) platform bracket Finish the function by pressing <Esc> After that you have to delete the accessories and calculate them new. Keep attention: If you calculate the whole formwork new, manual placed formwork will be lost. In the same way you can also act with adjustable props. 34 Tierods, accessories, adjustable props as well as platform brackets can hidden. (That hidden items will still calculate in the material list.) Calculate material list To calculate the material list you have to use the function Calculate material list, which is in the toolbox under the registry wall formwork. 35 Overwrite calculated quantity. Press twice on the existing cell and enter the new value over the keyboard. The Total -column will be updated by pressing save. Additional Positions To add new positions to the calculated material list you have to press the icon new. At the end of the list another line in built. Enter the article number as well as quantity of the item you want to add. Confirm your input with the save bottom. Select the required Position new Position (Designation) Quantity field Material lists can be printed or export as an ACII-file. Back to the formwork Press on the registry Design to get back to the formwork plan. 36 Layouts, layout manger and print Select in the toolbar the function manage plans create, edit, and delete A dialog box will open, select here New A second dialog box will open called Plan1, if that is your first layout. In that box you can edit the language, orientation and format. At least you can choose a block title. If the option Top view not shaded is active, the ground plan will draw only with lines (not coloured). Finish the input with ok. The layout will be created and is available in the list under Layout 1. Select the layout and open it with a press on open. PPL opens an empty sheet, with leaf edge and block title. Select the function Create Viewport. PPL 10 opens the dialog box Create viewport Select the phase you want to show. (In that case number 1) Press on the button Visibility, another dialog box will open. Here you can decide, which items should be shown in the layout. Finish the command visibility with OK. Finish the command Create viewport with OK. The phase is interconnected with the curser. Move the phase in the position you prefer (e.g. top left corner) and press the left mouse key to confirm the position. 37 Create Wall view Select wall command view of and move the cursor to the wall (e.g. Wall 7). Press on the Wall 7a with the left mouse key, after that select Wall 7b in the same way. Choose the line of sight with a further click, on right or left side next to the wall. With the click the view will be created and is connected with the curser, you can now place the wall view in your layout. Create an Isometry Select viewport again and modify the visibility like it is shown below. Press twice inside the viewport, thereby the viewport gets active and is edged red. Now you can edit the view with the different tools (mentioned S.9). For example you can use the function view North West. 38 Insert standard sections and details Open the library window. Press twice on Symbol library an open the hierarchy structure. You will find the needed section 01_Section_270, if you follow the path below. After pressing twice on the chosen section, the section is interconnected with the curser and can placed in the layout with another klick. Insert material list Select the button Insert material list, which you can find in the toolbar.
