1 Page 1 of 10 How to Install and Setup VoIPOffice Communicator for Mac (Software Release ) This guide will show you how to install and setup VoIPOffice Communicator for Mac. Click the button below to download Communicator. Installing Communicator 1. To begin, download Communicator and save it to your computer. 2. Once the download is complete, open the file to start the installation. 3. Drag and drop the purple VoIPOffice Communicator icon into the Drag to here folder. This moves Communicator into your Applications folder. Configuring Communicator Before you can configure Communicator with VoIPOffice, you will need your extension details. How to find your extension details: a. Enter your VoIPOffice IP address into your web browser. E.g b. Login to VoIPOffice using your address and password. Page 1 of 10

2 Page 2 of 10 c. Once you re logged in, you ll see your extension page. Simply select which extension you would like to use with Communicator. Examples of extensions: d. When you ve chosen an extension, click the edit button. e. The extension manager will open. The details required to configure Communicator are: i. VoIPOffice IP Address: ii. Extension Number: 1011 iii. Extension Password: A9ppSQaAFKJ!H66! Note: Do not use the details in bold above, these are just examples fit for purpose of this guide. If you re configuring communicator on multiple machines, repeat the process above for each extension. Page 2 of 10

3 Page 3 of 10 Setup Communicator 1. Navigate to the Applications folder and open the VoIPOfficeCommunicator file. Note: When you open Communicator for the very first time, you ll get a warning that the application was downloaded from the internet. Don t worry about this warning. Just click Open to continue. You won t get this warning again unless you re-install the application. Page 3 of 10

4 Page 4 of Read the license agreement carefully and click I accept to proceed. 3. You ll be greeted with the profile wizard. Select Continue to proceed. Page 4 of 10

5 Page 5 of Select the edition you have purchased for example Business and click Continue to proceed. 5. Select your web browser - for example Safari and click Continue to proceed. Page 5 of 10

6 Page 6 of Enter your extension number as the Profile name. Select Continue to proceed. 7. When asked if you want to create a profile using a configuration file, tick the box only if you have received a configuration file, otherwise leave this option un-ticked. Click Continue to proceed. 7 Page 7 of Fill in the Account details with the details acquired previously. a. Server: Enter your VoIPOffice IP Address. b. Extension: Enter your extension number. c. Secret: Enter your extension password. d. SIP Proxy: Leave blank. Once you have populated the fields, proceed by selecting Continue. Page 7 of 10

8 Page 8 of If you re using Communicator as a soft phone, select VoIPOffice Communicator softphone account, which is the default option. If you re using Communicator with a hardware phone at the same time, then choose Desk phone account. Select Continue to proceed. 10. Review the details entered are correct before selecting Done to continue. Page 8 of 10

9 Page 9 of 10 Note: You may get a warning that Communicator wants to access contacts, click OK. Communicator has now been setup successfully and you re ready to login. Login to Communicator 1. Select the Communicator icon from your dock. 2. Communicator will load, select Log in. Page 9 of 10
