2 1. Introduction Installation, Administration and Putting into Operation of the Avaya DECT Mobility Manager (ADMM) is outlined in the document IP DECT Installation. The ADMM runs in an unlicensed mode with restricted features. To obtain full functionality it is necessary to license the product at the Avaya License Server. This document explains the licensing process and other functions of the Avaya License Server. Three groups of users normally work with the Avaya License Server: Avaya Business Partner, Avaya Distributors and Avaya Associates. The following pages will describe the functions available for the different groups. NOTE: The functions available for a specific group are preset and selected by Avaya administration. Due to this fact it might be possible that not all functions and privileges described below are available. 2. Access to the Avaya License Server The Avaya License Server is available on the internet under: A User-Id and password are needed to Login to the Avaya License Server. 3. Avaya License Server for Avaya Distributors qualified Avaya Business Partners and the Avaya Customer Care/Service-Specialists. Avaya offers in some regions and markets bundles with Base Stations and all necessary licensing information in some regions. If you buy such a bundle it is not necessary to collect any information from the Avaya License Server. 3.1 Access information The Avaya Customer Care Center organization will provide Username and Password to Distributors and qualified Business Partners Avaya Customer Care/Service specialists can contact their Tier3 organization. 4 3.2.1 Generate key with serial number You need: - to choose the system (Communication Manager or IP Office) - to enter the TAD-TAN from the license document (paper in an envelope) - to enter the ADMM Serial Number from the ADMM license screen Enter the TAD-TAN and the Serial Number of the ADMM-system into the appropriate fields. 5 3.2.2 Generate key with MAC-addresses You need: - to choose the system (Communication Manager or IP Office) - to enter the TAD-TAN from the license document (Paper in an envelope) - to select MAC in the dropdown list beside the serial number field Enter the TAD-TAN and the MACs of the ADMM-system into the appropriate fields. These are the MACs carrying the license (maximum 3). If the first MAC is valid, the license products of the current TAD will be shown. Avaya 2007 Andy Rawll/Wolf-Dieter Groß Page 5 of 13

3.2.3 View licenses of the current TAD If the product requires more or less MACs as you have entered, the following symbols appear in front of the license product: + more MACs required - less MACs

7 3.2.4 Upgrade to a higher license With this service, you generate the key to activate the feature package you ordered. Upgrades are possible from: For IP Office: IP DECT IPO MOBMGR 1 RFP LIC:CU to IP DECT IPO MOBMGR 2 RFP LIC:CU to IP DECT IPO MOBMGR 3-5 RFP LIC:CU to IP DECT IPO MOBMGR 2 RFP LIC:CU IP DECT IPO MOBMGR 3-5 RFP LIC:CU IP DECT IPO MOBMGR 6+ RFP LIC:CU Or for Communication manager: IP DECT CM MOBMGR 1 RFP LIC:CU to IP DECT CM MOBMGR 2 RFP LIC:CU IP DECT CM MOBMGR 2 RFP LIC:CU to IP DECT CM MOBMGR 3-5 RFP LIC:CU IP DECT CM MOBMGR 3-5 RFP LIC:CU to IP DECT CM MOBMGR 6+ RFP LIC:CU Upgrades are possible stepwise only. If you want to upgrade to a higher license the new serial number and accordingly the new MACs have to be entered in the first steps. Then you select the upgrade product from the TAD license selection list, a new input field will appear. There you have to enter the old serial number. 9 3.2.5 Migrate from IP Office to Communication manager A valid license can be transferred from an IP Office system to a Communication manager system. This migration is possible on the same license-level only. If you want to migrate a license from IPO to CM with a higher number of base stations you have to do the migration and the upgrade in separate steps. If you want to migrate, in the first step you have to select AvayaDectMobilityManager (Comm. Manager). Unlike normal and upgrade generation, you cannot use MACs instead of the ADMM serial number to migrate from IP Office to Communication manager migration. Then you select the migration product from the TAD license selection list, two new input fields will appear. There you have to enter the old serial number and license key. 10 3.2.6 Info Center Show License State With this function you can evaluate if for a certain serial number a license already has been generated. 12 3.2.7 Info Center My Licenses To have an overview over all CMs and IPOs for which you have generated Licenses, just click on the My Licenses link. A search for all your licenses will be done (chapter 3.2.6) Info Center Show Tad State To view the current state of your TAD-TAN, click on Show TAD State in the Info Center menu and enter your TAD information and the order number.
