1 Wireless Printing Guide (OS X) Apple OS X Please note: The OUHK is unable to guarantee this service is available as individual portable computer may have restrictions/issues preventing it from printing in this manner. Since slight variations may occur with devices from difference OS X versions, you are advised to study this guide and refer to their user manuals whenever necessary. A. Enable the WiFi Connection 1. Enable the WiFi connection at your Mac device. 2. Active students: Connect it to OUHK-Student. 3. Active part-time tutors: Connect it to OUHK-Staff 4. Find the printer you need to print from depending on where you are located on campus. B. Download and install the printer driver for Konica Minolta bizhub 454e 1. Login administrator account at your Mac. 2. Download the file with printer driver onto your Mac. 3. Double-click on the downloaded file, then double-click on the.pkg file inside to install printer driver. The printer driver is for the Konica Minolta bizhub 554e series. 4. 3 8. Click Install 9. If prompted, enter your Mac s administrator username and password. If you are the only person using the Mac, it is the username and password you use to log in to the Mac. 4 11. Click Close to continue C. Set up the printer on your MacBook 1. At the Dock (the bar of icons that sits at the bottom or side of your screen), click System Preferences icon. 2. In System Preferences, click Printers & Scanners Wireless Printing Guide (OS X) KM bizhub 454e 4 / 12

5 3. Click + to add a printer Note: You may need to enter your administrator username and password of your Mac. 4. Position the mouse cursor in the empty space to the right of the Windows icon, and right click (on a trackpad, use a two-finger tap). Then, select "Customize Toolbar ". 5. 6 When the Advanced icon appears at the toolbar, click Done to continue. 6. Click the new added Advanced icon to begin add the printer. Type: click to select Windows printer via spoolss from the list Device: Another Device URL: smb://{name of printer server}/{name of printer} Name: {name of printer} Location: {the location of printer} In the example below, printer Lib-SH1 at HMT campus is going to be added. 9 10. Select the features: Paper source unit: PC-410 Finisher: None Punch Unit: None Tick Hard Disk Tick Secure Print Only Untick Allow Public User Tick 1200dpi Rendering Op. 10 12. To print a document at application, Click File -> Print 13. Make sure you have selected the Lib-SH1 printer. The default settings will print the document on double-sided paper. Wireless Printing Guide (OS X) KM bizhub 454e 10 / 12

11 14. When prompt, input your self-defined Secure Print ID and Password for retrieving your document at the printer. The set of self-defined Secure Print ID and Password is not related to your OUHK username and password. Click OK to continue. 15. When you first time to send document to the printer, you should be prompted to authenticate with your OUHK account credentials. Enter: a) your OUHK username (sxxxxxxx for student or txxxxxx for part-time tutor) and your single password, i.e. the same set to login your MyOUHK., b) tick the Remember this password in my keychain checkbox if you do not want to enter the password next time; c) click OK to continue. Noted: The username field must be input in the format studentdmn\{username}, where studentdmn is domain name, and the username is same as your username to login MyOUHK. below example, the username is s At Wireless Printing Guide (OS X) KM bizhub 454e 11 / 12

After sending to document out: a) A Konica Minolta printer icon will appear at the Dock with a number to indicate submitted print job qualities on queue. b) Such printer icon at the Dock will disappear once the document is received by the printer. 17. Go to the selected printer to retrieve your document, and then print it out as normal. D. List of printers available for wireless printing service You can use the following printer server names and printer names to connect to selected printers in your campus using this method.
