4 What Software is loaded onto JPC Staff MacBook s?? A broad range of software is loaded onto your MacBook to complete tasks at JPC, most notably the following software is loaded Adobe Creative Suite 6 Microsoft Office 2012 iwork + ilife 2x for accessing Synergetic Symantec Anti-virus There is also a range of smaller software packages loaded to suit specific needs. You have been supplied with a username and password which will enable you to install or update software or make changes to your MAC. Accessing College Network drives There are two mount points on the desktop that allow you to access Network information The Applications mount point will allow you to access libraries and application on the JPC Network. You will notice your login name on the desktop as well, this is your JPC home drive. This will be your H:\ Drive when you use a windows machine in college. Please note that Network storage is very limited and will not work with certain applications. For best results save your work locally onto your MAC and/or save your work to an external storage device or cloud storage solution. 3

5 Adding Printers To add a printer to a MAC click on the Apple logo in the top left hand corner and then go to System Preference then click on Print & scan. Click on the Print & Scan button Click on the + icon on the bottom of the Printer list. 4
