This screen is then displayed: You can access a particular function in the software by clicking on one of the buttons: Analysis System Options About Help Exit/End Copy Data Click to start the video program. If one or both cameras are connected and turned on the video screen will open and after a moment the camera(s) will appear in a live mode. Click to access various system functions such as . Click to view information regarding the exact build of software you are running. Click to view an html version of this user guide. Click to exit the software. Click to download swings, photos, & Instruction from an RVP Playerdata CD The Analysis button opens the Ce300 video capture and viewing software program, let's start this discussion with the analysis window and an explanation of the features and functions there. Later we will return to discuss the System Options and other buttons on the main page. The Analysis screen user interface file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (7 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

To open the video program, click on the Analysis button on the lower left of the main screen. When this button is clicked the software searches for camera sources connected to the computer. This view (above) appears when two camcorders are connected and turned on ( Available on the Ce300 and Is300 only). In the event that one camcorder is connected rather than two the software will display this message after the Analysis button is clicked: Click the OK button (or the cancel button in the upper right corner), and the single video source is then displayed in a full screen view: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (8 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

When only one camera source is connected the default setting in the software is that the left window is displayed and is considered the front view of the player rather than the target. This can be changed if desired, in System Options/ Recording on the opening screen. Next, if the software is started without any video source connected, two messages are displayed in succession: Click OK on both messages and the analysis window opens with blank windows due to the lack of video sources: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (9 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

It is quite common to open and use the software in order to view and analyze swing clips that are saved in the system, create supporting materials, manage the database, or for other reasons, so this is a normal sequence in those situations. Once swing clips are loaded into one or both video windows the software assumes a more conventional appearance: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (10 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Moving forward, the layout of the analysis window from top to bottom is as follows: Pop-up info (upper left) Drawing toolbar Video window info Video windows Individual video controls Initial selection tabs Lower area Displays information on the feature that the cursor is passing over Displays a row of buttons that allow the corresponding analysis feature to be drawn on either video screen Identifies front and target views with camera or clip name Initially divided in halves, to increase the size of a window the yellow splitter button can be dragged from side to side Located to the sides of each video window, details will follow. Functions are as identified on the tabs, details to follow. Displays various function buttons depending on which tab is selected, the default selection is the select tab, details to follow. As mentioned above, there are a series of tabs located at the bottom of the screen, and when the Analysis button is clicked on the main page the Select tab is the default choice. Here is a table giving the basic function of all the tabs: Select Capture Displays a series of buttons that allow access to basic functions in the software such as a database of coaches and students, snapshot creation and viewing, instruction segment viewing, features, and event data creation and entry. Gives access to video capture functions and options file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (11 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Play Front Target Pro frt Pro trg Stats Gives access to synchronized playback functions and position features and controls Displays a list of saved front view files for the selected student Displays a list of saved target view files for the selected student Displays a list of saved model front view files Displays a list of saved model target view files Displays various statistics derived from on screen drawings As mentioned, the select tab displays a series of buttons at the bottom of the screen; here is one more table that gives some detail about each button: Swing Manager Instruction Four View Take Snapshot See snapshot Quick Print Settings Opens a database page that allows configuration of coaches and students, as well as previewing all data associated with any individual student. Opens a page displaying a list of data that has been created to to a student. Opens an Instruction Viewer that will display instructional clips stored in the software. Divides the main screen into four areas which allows for the viewing of four swings at once. Clicking this button captures a still image screen shot of anything displayed in the video windows (one or two video clips, drawings, small model and drawings) and saves the image in the snapshot Viewer under the current student name. Opens the snapshot Viewer screen which has displaying, printing, and add to /cd options. More details to follow. Clicking this button immediately prints a large snapshot of whatever is displayed in the video windows. The snapshot is also saved automatically for future use. Customize the 12 Key Edit Positions for any type of sports motion As stated in the introduction, there are many features and functions in the Coaches Edition software that could be useful for an instructor in teaching or for a facility in producing video services for a baseball camp or tournament. There is considerable overlap in these two scenarios, but for the purposes of this user guide they will be divided, and teaching functions will be discussed first. III. Using the Coaches Edition software for instruction Here is a basic format or sequence that is used in most Baseball lessons when digital video capture takes place: Select the student and coach in the software's database (Swing Manager) Capture video clips Review the captured clips and analyze Make coaching recommendations Give the student something that summarizes the lesson content for future review. (Ie. Photos or Swing Clips) The Coaches Edition software allows an instructor to easily move through this process, and in fact customize it to their needs and instructional style. The following sections will explain how to use the software in an actual teaching situation as well as to describe functions in detail. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (12 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Creating and selecting a student and coach This step must happen immediately after opening the analysis page, both in using the software to capture video clips and also simply for viewing and analyzing swing clips saved in the system. The creation or selection of coaches and students is done in the Swing Manager page, to access this page choose the Select tab and then click on the Swing Manager button. The following page is then displayed: Briefly, the Swing Manager page enables Creation of a database of coaches and students A preview of both front and target recorded swing files for any individual student (the preview window is the large dark area in the image above) A preview of saved snapshot images of any individual student file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (13 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

The addition or editing of student information (For a detailed treatment of the functions contained in the Swing Manager please consult Appendix II.) The first step in using the software is to create a coach (coach names are listed in the Coaches column). To do this, right click on the Coaches heading, and then select add new coach. The following window is displayed: Type in the name and click OK, and the new coach name is then displayed in the Coaches column. To add/create a student, first click the coach name that the student will be associated with, and then right click the Players column heading and click Add new student. The following window is displayed: Type the new student name in the box, click OK, and the student is then added to the coach's database of students. To add or edit student information double click on the student's name in the PLayers column and the following window will be displayed: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (14 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

There are two ways to start a lesson once a coach has created their own profile and is in the process of building a database of students: 1 - Open the Swing Manager and select the desired coach and student names from the Coaches and Students columns. The selected names will then appear in the Coach and Player box in the lower right section of the Swing Manager window. Verify that the names are correct; close the Swing Manager page and the software returns to the Analysis screen. 2 The second method allows selecting an existing Coach and/or Student while in the Analysis screen. To do this, right click either the coach or student name in the lower left corner of the analysis screen and a popup window is displayed. Here is an image of the Coach list popup screen: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (15 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

To select or change the coach click the desired name on the list and then click the OK button in the lower right corner of the popup window. Once a coach has been selected the student may be chosen in the same way: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (16 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

In the picture above USA 08 has been selected as the coach. To start a lesson, select a player name on the list (left click the name) and then click OK. In the case above, Andrea Duran was selected as the student and the names displayed in the lower left of the Analysis screen are changed. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (17 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

In the example above "Default Coach" and "Default Student" are selected and a "Pro Front" and "Pro Target" view of Alex Rodriguez is displayed. Capturing/recording video clips After creating or selecting a coach and student the general sequence of events in a baseball lesson is to then record some video clips for immediate review. To do this click the Capture tab and the following buttons and options are displayed: The software captures either one camera view, or two views simultaneously (Is300 & Ce300 only) if two camcorders are connected. The basic process for capturing is to first click the button labeled Record ; this will begin saving live video to the hard drive (the wait icon (hourglass figure) appears on screen when the software is in the Record mode). Next, wait at least three seconds (the computer needs three seconds to store to the file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (18 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

video buffer file) and then after the player has completed their motion click either Stop Record to capture the swing (the previous three seconds of video) or Save/Stop Record to capture the swing and automatically save the clip under the student's name. (Swings are saved in either the Front or Target tabs and automatically named in a numerical sequence, such as Bret , Bret , etc. If the same swing is captured with two cameras both clips will be saved simultaneously under the Front and Target tabs with the same name given to the clips.) The default playback option in the HS Coaches Edition software is that the recorded swing is displayed immediately on screen. Remember the computer will go backwards and save the last 3 to 6 seconds prior to you clicking either the "Preview" button or the "Save" button. Do not worry about leaving the "Record" button going for any length of time because it is only saving the last 3-6 seconds. To change the length of capture go to "System Options" on the "Opening Page" and choose "Recording". The length of recording time is set in 30 frames per second (Default is 90 or 3 seconds). To change to 4 sec. enter 120 and apply. There is also an "Auto Capture" option that is controlled by the check box located in the top left. Auto Capture When this box is checked the system will return to live video immediately after capturing, naming, and saving rather than displaying the last recorded clip(s). This is the most efficient way to capture multiple swings either live or from tape. To summarize the steps for capturing video in the HS Coaches Edition software, first decide whether you: 1. Want to save automatically or not (Preview vs Save) 2. Whether you would like to view the captured clip immediately or return to the live camera(s) view to capture and save another motion. (Record manually vs Auto Capture) Recording manually: 1. Be sure that a coach and student are selected. 2. Select the capture tab, choose the motion type (Hitting, Pitching, Golf, etc.) and click the record button ( wait icon is displayed). Wait three seconds. 3. Click either Preview (basic capture without saving) or Save if you want the swing saved automatically. To return to live video click the Return Camera(s) button and live video will be displayed. Recording with Auto Capture 1. Be sure that a coach and student are selected. 2. Select the "Capture" tab, choose the motion type for each camera and put a check mark in "Auto Capture" box 3. Click "Record" wait until you see the end of the motion and click "Save." The clip will then be saved, named and stored and the screen will return to the live video ready for you to hit "Save" again and again. 4. When you are finished capturing or ready to switch to another student, click "Cancel" and right click the "Coach" and /or "Student" on the lower left hand side of the screen and select the appropriate coach and student then hit "Record" again. You will now be naming anad saving the in the new students folder. Reviewing and analyzing recorded clips There are many methods in giving baseball instruction, and how an individual lesson proceeds will depend on the choices of the instructor. However, for purposes of this user guide generic features in teaching will be discussed such as opening clips, setting positions, using drawing tools, and taking advantage of statistical data. Viewing swing clips Stored swing clips are listed under the Front and Target tabs at the bottom of the main screen. When a student is selected either in the Swing Manager or with the popup option, the listed clips change to reflect the current student. Also, the Pro Frt and Pro Trg tabs list Professional model swings that have been installed file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (19 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

with the Ce300 software along with any model clips an instructor chooses to add. The procedure for viewing any of these clips is to drag and drop the file name into the section of the video screen where the swing is to be displayed. Follow these steps to load and view a swing clip: 1. Click on the front, target, pro front, or pro target tab to display the contents of the tab as a menu. 2. Select the clip you want to view by clicking and holding the file name with the left mouse button. 3. While continuing to hold the left mouse button, drag the file name into one of the two viewing windows, and release or drop the left mouse button to display the clip. In the example above I've opened the Pro Front tab, selected the clip named Albert Pujols and dragged the clip into the left viewing window to display it. (drag & drop) To view a single clip in the full video window, drag the splitter Bar located below the drawing toolbar to the right or left and the clip will play full size: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (20 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

You can also view two clips side by side, or in the split screen mode. To do this, slide the splitter bar back to the center position, load one clip into the left portion of the screen, select another clip and then drag and load it into the right side of the screen. In this photo I've loaded both the target and front Albert Pujols clips into the two viewing windows: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (21 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

With one or two clips loaded into the viewing windows there are a few options for controlling playback. Below is an image of the controls located to the sides of the video windows and an explanation of the functions: Draw/Select Left/right arrows Single arrow Curved arrow X shaped icon Hide Sw Magnifying tool Flip Numbers at bottom Vertical cursor Slide button 12 red/green buttons A button "T" button Select enables you to delete individual drawings by double clicking Steps clip forward or back (Short cut keys "Q"&"W"-Left "O"&"P" righthand side) Plays clip Deletes last drawing Deletes all drawings Hides grid Swaps side Zooms in or out Reverses clip (rh to lh) Upper number displays current frame/total frames, lower number may be reset to 0 with double click Moves clip back or forth Can be used to center a clip in split screen mode, or a zoomed clip in single or split screen mode. If buttons are green left click once to jump to the selected position in the adjacent window, or double click to move both clips in split screen. Also, when a button is right-clicked that position will either be programmed if the button was red, or reprogrammed if the button was green. This button is for auto programming. To use, move the clip to either release or contact and click this button. (Ce300 and Is300 only) Right Click to trim everything before 1st key edit position (Stance) and everything after the 12th key edit position (Finish 4) (Ce300 and Is300 only) file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (22 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Note:Also, playback of swings can be controlled with keyboard commands. For the left video window the Q and W keys control forward and reverse playback, while for the right video window the O and P keys do the same. In both cases if the right key of the pair is held down the adjacent window will play continuously, if it is struck in succession the clip will advance one frame at a time. If the left key is held down the clip will play in reverse continuously or if struck in succession the clip will move in reverse a frame at a time. Setting Key Positions After capturing a clip or after loading a clip to view you will notice that there are twelve red buttons in a vertical column located in the lower section of the playback control toolbars (buttons on the left): file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (23 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

These buttons enable setting twelve key positions of a swing or other type of motion. If they appear in red they have not been set or programmed. The display color of the buttons changes from red to green once the key positions have been set. To set the position buttons: Automatically Set Key Edit Positions 1. Scroll the clip in the window as close to the impact frame for hitting or to release for pitching as possible 2. Select the Play tab 3. Click either the Left Side Auto button for a swing loaded in the left window, or Right Side Auto for a swing loaded in the right window file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (24 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

In the photo above, the swing is set to the contact frame and the Left Side Auto button was clicked. The contact frame is used for the auto programming of swing clips while the release frame is used for the auto programming of pitching clips. The buttons on the left of the screen were then changed as a group from red to green. Note: Another way to auto program a clip is to use the (short cut) A button at the bottom of the control panel. To do this, move the clip to either contact for hitting or release for pitching and click the A button. The resulting preset positions are close approximations of the key positions in a baseball swing. The software approximates these positions based on the average differences seen in our major league models. Because file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (25 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

of differences in swing length and speed there may be variations in positioning from player to player. All twelve key edit positions can then be fine tuned or reset if desired. In the example below the Toe Touch position (TT) is 3 frames short of the true position and can be reset if desired: To make the change move the clip to the desired frame (in this case to frame 62/88) and then right click the corresponding position button (TT) on the side that controls the clip: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (26 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Manually Programming the Key Edit Positions 1. Scroll the swing clip to each of the "Key Positions" and Right Click the corresponding Button 2. The buttons will turn green when they are programmed 3. To re-adjust programming just move clip to correct position and re-right click file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (27 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Once a Video Clip has been programmed, you can move to any of the 12 Key Edit Positions instantly by left clicking any of the Green Buttons. In the example below we have clicked the "TT" Button. If you have two clips displayed you can double click any of the "Key Edit" positions and both clips will jump to that position. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (28 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Synchronized Playback Options When the key positions for one or two clips have been set, the Play tab gives several options for moving the clips in sync: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (29 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

In the screen shot above two clips have been loaded, and are ready for review. When the Play tab is selected playback controls are displayed on the lower left-center section of the screen, while a set of position jump buttons are displayed on the lower right. The upper set of playback controls on the left will manually control simultaneous synchronized playback in two clips after the Contact position button (CT) is selected and the Both box is checked. The other functions are activated once the Both box is checked, here is a table detailing the functions of the other controls: Play Right and Left Arrows Sliding bar Back Forward Click to play both clips simultaneously and in sync. When Play has been selected this button turns into a stop button. Move both clips back or forward frame by frame (clicking) or in motion (holding) Moves both clips together by holding and sliding left or right. Click to move both clips back one frame at a time, or hold to move both clips back in motion Click to move both clips forward one frame at a time, or hold to move both clips forward in motion This set of controls works well for dual captured clips and also for synchronizing clips that are not dual captured: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (30 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Also, the bottom set of playback controls can be used to synchronize two clips that have key positions set: Pos Play Arrows Sliding bar Speed control When checked, two clips will work in sync provided the key position buttons have been set in both. 32 Clicking on position CT (Contact) will jump both clips to that position: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (32 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Importing The Import feature is designed to import a variety of different video formats that have not been captured directly into the RVP Analysis System. The quality of the import depends directly on the quality and type of video being imported. The import system will do its best to import the video at 60 fields per second but if the original video is not interlaced the importer will export the video at 30 fps. High Definition video will be cropped on the sides and de-interlaced (60 fps) to fit into the RVP Analysis Windows. Note:Any time video is altered or recompressed there will be some loss in quality. Since the invent of the Hard drive and flip video cameras, there has been a need to import less than ideal footage for analysis system and the importer attempts to convert the original footage into the best possible video for the RVP system. The Importer feature is meant for clips that are compressed in formats like.mpeg,.mov,.mp4 etc. Not all types of video can be imported. Note:Do to the vast amount of video formats, proprietary software, and conversion techniques, not all types of video can be imported into your RVP System. Contact RVP Support and send a small sample of the video and RVP will try to try to find a conversion technique to help you import your video. Note: If this is the first time you are using the Import feature, you will first need to turn off the status window of Xvid. Click here for directions. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (33 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Click Import Button to access the importing program. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (34 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Multiple videos can be selected but it is recommended not to import clips longer then 1 minute. The RVP Analysis system is designed to look at and evaluate single motions. When filming with a Hard Drive camera, it is best to turn and off recording for each motion so they can be programmed to sync up with the individual motions of the pros. Note: large files can take a long time to convert and import. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (35 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

After Processing is complete, click "Return" This will take you back to the main Analysis System. Your imported video will be stored in the current "Coach" and "Student" Folder and will have the same name as before but a "- 1" will be added to the end. Example ("MOV001" will be "mov001-1") If you import a second time it will be (mov001-2) The next step is to drag the new clip into one of the analysis screens and test the video quality and frame by frame performance. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (36 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Fine Tune Options 1.) If it takes 2 clicks to move the video forward one Frame-This means the original footage was compressed at 30 fps and cannot be de-interlaced to 60 fps. These clips will sync with the Pro's on every other frame. If you prefer the footage to step forward on every click you may re-import using the 1st Fine tune option: "It takes to clicks to move the video forward one frame" 2.) If video plays jerky or video steps forward then back on each successive click- This means during the de-interlace conversion the odd field was processed first so the clip needs to be re-imported with the the 2nd option checked: "Video steps forward then backward on each successive click" 3.) If video appears to be distorted or stretched-this means the video is either High Definition or was compressed into an unusual size. Re-import using the 3rd Fine Tune Option:"Video appears to be distorted (original footage is in HD or wide format). file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (37 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Hard Disc Capture Since the invent of the Hard drive and flip video cameras, there has been a need to import and edit video files so thay can be used effectively in the RVP Analysis Systems. The Hard Disk Capture feature was designed to Edit and Import individual motion clips from a single large video file. The Hard Disk Capture feature can be used with a variety of different video formats but because of the vast amount of available formats and conversion techniques, and propietary software, not all can be used when importing into the RVP Analysis System. The Hard Disc Capture system works with most types of.mpg,.mts,.mod, and.mp4 formats. The quality of the import depends directly on the quality and type of video being imported. The system will do its best to import the video at 60 fields per second but if the original video is not interlaced the importer will export the video at 30 fps. Note:Any time video is altered or re-compressed there will be some loss in quality. Before you get started, Select a Coach and Student Folder where you want your new clips stored. All motion clips captured in the Hard Disk Capture feature will be automatically named, dated, numbered and stored in the Front or Target folder of the selected coach and Student. In the picture below Default Coach and Default Student file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (38 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

After setting a button, the button color is changed from red to green. Note: Once a key position has been set or programmed, It will remain green but may be reset by right clicking the button again. When first loading a clip, you will notice there are either twelve red buttons or 12 green buttons in a vertical column located within the playback control toolbar. If these buttons are green, you can move the clip to any one of twelve Key Positions. The Step Forward and Step Back buttons at the bottom of the screen control all four screens simultaneously. A single click will move the screens forward one frame at a time, while clicking and holding the Step Forward and Step Back will move the screens continuously. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (51 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Analysis Tools Key Position buttons have been set in these examples Drawing lines and reference points on screen allow you to visually analyze your swings. You can access these drawing tools on the drawing toolbar, located above the video window. In the next screen, swings of a Pro model and student have been dragged and dropped into the Four-View screen. As an example of some of the analysis possibilities, the analysis toolbar has been used to draw reference lines at the beginning of each clip, and the key position buttons have been used to move both clips to different points in the swing for comparison: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (52 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

For the full range of drawing toolbar options, please see the table of drawing tools on pages Math Along with drawing tools and key position features, the Coaches Edition software compiles various mathematical statistics relating to your onscreen drawings. To access these statistics, click the Math tab at the lower left corner of the screen. The math features provide tools to measure angles, as well as relative distances (or length) of the lines. The lengths or distances are measured in pixels: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (53 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

This feature functions by measuring and comparing both the length and angle of two lines of different colors on screen. To use the Math feature, decide what sort of line you would like to telestrate and compare at different points in the swing. The first line drawn must be red, and the second line must be any color other than red. When the Math tab is selected, measurements are displayed at the bottom of the screen. The top row of numbers compares the length of the two lines, the difference in length between the two lines and the ratio of the differences. The second row of numbers displays the angle of the lines, as well as the difference and ratio between the two angles. These features can also be used to find the trajectory of a pitch, the path of the bat, and the possible impact zone. In the example below, the red dots represent the path of the head of the bat, the green line shows the trajectory of the pitch, and the blue square represents the location of the ball when the bat gets on plane. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (54 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Other uses could be to measure the release of the head of the bat and/or the potential contact zone. The potential contact zone in the example above would be the distance the bat travels along the path of the green line. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (55 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

In the Picture above we are looking at the relative distance the hands have traveled vs. the distance the head of the bat has traveled in the frame just prior to contact. We call this the release. In the example above, Troy Glaus's (Screen 2 upper right screen) hands have traveled 16 pixels while the head of the bat has traveled 60 pixels. This gives us a ratio of Using the drawing tools To activate a drawing tool for swing analysis, place the cursor over the desired tool in the drawing toolbar and click the left mouse button to select it. To draw, place the pointer where the drawing is to begin and click the left mouse button. Keep the left mouse button depressed, drag the cursor to the position where the drawing is to end, and then release the mouse button. The drawing will remain on the screen until it is removed. To remove only the most recent drawing, click the undo (curved arrow) button in the controls adjacent to the window, this will remove the telestrations in the active side one at a time starting with the most recent one. To erase all the drawings, either click the x-shaped icon in the video control bar adjacent to the window, or double-click the active screen. The following is a table of all the telestration tools and their functions: Thick/Med/Thin Color buttons Line options Line thickness options check one to select Choice of 4 colors for telestration Choice of three line drawing tools vertical, horizontal, diagonal file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (56 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Generally used to track the path of the bat through the strike zone. Click "path" once, then click on the end of the bat through a series of frames then click"end" Additionally, when using the diagonal line drawing tool, the angle measurement is displayed in the lower left corner of the video window (angle = 85), (distance = 484 Pixels): Below is a sample of "Path" drawing file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (57 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Displaying comparative models The Ce300 software has the capability of viewing models by creating and loading your own personal collection of model clips that are viewed in the standard manner on your system. Here is an example of the kind of comparison modeling that is possible in the system when a clip of this type is loaded: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (58 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

Editing Swing Clip Files Once a swing clip has been captured and saved into the Ce300 software (or imported from another source and saved) there are multiple options for editing information such as file name and source folder (front or target). One method is to use the Swing Manager page. The Swing Manager uses a standard Microsoft editing menu. Right Clicking on files will bring up several Editing options: Cut, Copy, Paste, Rename, Make Model, etc. This method is treated in detail in Appendix II. The other option is to use a pop-up editor in the main Analysis screen. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (59 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

To use the pop-up editor in the Analysis page, double click any file name inside one of the four swing clip tabs (front, target, pro front or pro target) and the following window will be displayed: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (60 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

In this editing screen a swing clip can be renamed, moved from front to target, designated as a lefty, pro model, deleted or change the type of motion. When the popup swing editor is opened the selected clip is played in a loop in the preview window on the right, to pause the preview clip double click directly on the preview screen. To rename a clip type the new name in the Name box and then click the button labeled Apply Changes in the lower right corner: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (61 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

To make any of the other changes, check the desired option and also click the button labeled Apply Changes in the lower right corner. If desired, more than one change can be made and all of the changes can then be saved with one click. Statistics Various kinds of statistics relating to onscreen drawings are compiled and displayed in the Coaches Edition software in the Stats tab. This function measures and compares both the length and angle of two lines of different colors on screen and displays the comparative data under this tab. To use the stats feature, start by opening one or two clips on screen. Next, decide what sort of line you would like to telestrate and compare at different points in the swing. The first line drawn must be red, and the second line needs to be blue, green, or white. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (62 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

When the Stats tab is selected measurements are displayed at the bottom of the screen. The button 1 will display the measurements on the left-hand screen and button 2 will display the measurements and statistics on the right-hand screen. The top row of numbers compares the length of the last red line drawn to the length of the last blue, green, or white line drawn. The first column displays the length of the red line (in pixels). The second column shows the difference in lengths (Red Line Blue line) The third column shows the Ratio of the blue, green, or white line to the red line (Blue line/ Redline). The second row of numbers displays the angle of the red line, the difference, and the ratio between the two angles. In the example above, both lines have an angle equal to zero, the red line is 90 pixels long, the blue line is 198 pixels longer, and the blue line is 3.20 times the length of the red line. The width of Troy Glaus' base is 3.20 times the width of his waist. In the following example we add a clip of Edgar Martinez for comparison. Again red lines were drawn the width of their waist and blue lines were drawn the width of their base. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (63 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

To see the stats on the right hand side we clicked on the button labeled 2. From this analysis the ratio allows you to make comparisons even when the video has been shot from different distances. Note: The statistics of the last line drawn are displayed in the lower left hand corner above the selected coach and student. There are several options for measuring and comparing angles in the stats feature. In the following example, we will look at how the posture angles change during the swing. Two clips were opened on screen, and red lines were drawn from the inside eye to the belt buckle at the Negative Move Position (#2). file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (64 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

The stats tab was selected, and by default the button labeled 1 is displayed representing the left hand screen: At Negative Move Carlos Beltran had a posture angle of 14 degrees and a distance of 118. Note: For Statistical comparisons make sure both swings are viewed either right-handed or left-handed. The clips were then moved to the Toe Touch/Ready Position" (#3) and similar lines were drawn in blue. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaugh...RVP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (65 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

At Toe Touch/Ready Position" (#3) his posture line has changed by 8 degrees and the distance between his eye and his belt buckle has shortened by 5 pixels (2 nd column) or as stated in the 3 rd column is 96% of the original line. 103 6. Swing Locations Information and functions In the previous image there are six names listed in the Swing Directories column ( Main, Common, Pro Playerdata, Demo, Pm300-MLB08, and Hm300 MLB08) and two of the names are displayed in green text while the other two are displayed in red text. This color-coding relates to whether a listed location is selected or not (selected locations are displayed in green, de-selected are displayed in red). Adding and/or selecting a Swing Directory gives access to content that can be viewed in the main analysis program. Two Swing Directories are installed with the software, Main and Common, and both are selected by default. The Swing Directories column can be customized, following is information and details concerning the basic setup and steps for customizing: Main The term Main refers to the main directory or folder structure in the CE300 program in which coach and student content is saved. In normal use of the software, the Main directory or location will always be selected. Playerdata Folders Common, Pro Playerdata, and Pro Playerata 2 The Common, "Pro Playerdata", and "Pro Playerdata 2" Swing Directories refer to a secondary folders where swings, snapshots, and lesson segments might be located. Specifically, when data that is intended for viewing in the software is imported into a computer (for example as a Player Data disc or through attachment) the default location where that data is saved is the Common folder. If the common folder is selected all the data file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (103 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:03 PM]

is viewable in the Analysis portion of the software. Here's an example of selecting the common folder, note the large amount of content displayed in the all of the columns: Be advised though that if the Common folder is selected that all files stored there will be displayed in the main analysis page menus regardless of the selected student. If this is not desired, it is recommended to deselect the common folder until it is needed. Note: The Common folder is generally used to store the model swings or other motions frequently used by the instructor in his analysis. Selecting/Deselecting folders To either select or deselect a folder, right-click the desired name in the Swing Directories column and the following menu is displayed: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (104 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Make a selection from the list according to these choices: Select Deselect Remove from list Selects a location for viewing, the location name will be displayed in green text. Hides a location from view, however the location is saved on the computer for later selection, and the name remains on the list displayed in red text. Removes a Swing Location from the list, but does not delete the data from the computer hard drive. In most cases the Main location will be sufficient, however in the case of a larger facility, or if a client has a large library of content, it is possible to customize the Swing Directories column through the addition and selection of Teaching Folders and/or Player Data folders. Here are some instructions on how this is done: Adding a Teaching Folder It is possible to create a separate teaching folder or folders on a computer in addition to the Main teaching folder located in the program files. This may be desirable in the case of multiple instructors and/or when content needs to be secured. To create a teaching folder left-click on the Swing Directories heading and select Add New : The following browser window is displayed showing the main program files directory for the CE300 software: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (105 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

In the case of a new teaching folder it is recommended to create the new folder somewhere on the computer (for instance, My Documents ), give it a name, and then search for it when the browser window is displayed. As an example a folder was created in My Documents and called Teaching Folder. The browser window was used to find the folder, and then OK was clicked to select it. Once a teaching folder has been selected the following window is then displayed: Even though the created folder may have a name, it is required to give the folder a name that will be displayed in the Swing Directories column. Once this is done click OK, and another window is displayed giving the option of creating a password: If this is desired then enter a password in both boxes and click OK. If a password is not needed, then leave file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (106 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

both boxes empty and click OK and the new folder will be displayed in the Swing Directories column: The new folder is initially displayed in red text, so it must be right clicked and selected to be active. If a password was created when the folder was created it will be necessary to enter the password to access the folder. A teaching folder created in this way will function identically to the Main Swing directory in the program files. Adding a Player Data Folder When a new student is added a structure is automatically created for that student in the program files consisting of several folders that will contain saved content. This folder structure is referred to as a Player Data folder, and the sub-folders appear as follows in Windows Explorer. The "Sample Pro Swings" is a "Playerdata" folder. The Player Data folder structure is basic to the CE300 software, and several kinds of content can be automatically saved in this folder arrangement. Relating this to the Swing Directories column, new player file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (107 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

data folders or locations can be added to access additional content. In the example above, some professional model clips are saved in a folder called Sample Pro Swings. When selected, content in this folder will be viewable regardless of the selected student. Following is a discussion of how that folder can be added as a player data folder in Swing Directories column. First, left-click the Swing Directories heading and select Add Player Data : The following browser window is displayed showing the main program directory for the CE300 software: As in the case of a new teaching folder, it is also recommended to create the new playerdata folder somewhere on the computer (for instance, My Documents ), give it a name, and then search for it when the browser window file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (108 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

is displayed. In this case a folder has been copied into the main program files before starting this process and called Sample Pro Swings. The browser window is then used to find the folder, and then selected by clicking OK. The following window is then displayed: Since this is a player data folder all the sub-directories must be displayed, to do this double-click the folder name, and then click OK. A naming window is then displayed: Type in a name and click OK. As with new teaching folders, a password creation window is then displayed: If a password is desired then fill in both boxes and click OK. If not, leave both boxes blank, click OK and the new folder will be displayed in the Swing Directories column: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (109 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

As in the case of a new teaching folder, the new playerdata folder is initially displayed in red text, so it must be selected to be active. If a password was created when the folder was created it will be necessary to enter the password to access the folder. The contents of a playerdata folder created in this way will then be displayed in the various main screen menus regardless of the selected student. 7. Editing Functions All columns in the swing manager have editing functions that are accessible through a right mouse click on an individual column name or file name. For example, the addition of teaching or playerdata folders is done in the Swing Directoriess column through left-clicking the Swing Directories title box, and right-clicking the name of a Swing Directory displays the select/deselect menu. Here are the other editing functions available on the Swing Manager page: Coaches When a coach name is right-clicked the following standard Windows editing menu is displayed: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (110 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Choose an option by left clicking on the desired function. Be aware that when a coach name is deleted the student names and data that are associated with that coach are also deleted. Students When a players name is right-clicked the same standard Windows menu is displayed as in the coach column: Choose an option by left clicking on the desired function. Be aware that when a student name is deleted all of data saved under that student name is deleted. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (111 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Swings (Front/Target) When a swing clip name in any of the three swing columns is right-clicked a modified Windows menu is displayed: Choose an option by left clicking on the desired function. In the case of choosing cut or copy followed by paste, this is one of the methods of moving a swing from the front to target bin or vice versa if it is in the wrong location. For example, in the screen shot above, a front swing is highlighted that is obviously a target swing, (as seen in the preview window) this could be due to the side selection (left or right) selected as the front view when the swing was captured. file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (112 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

To correct this, the clip can be cut and pasted into the target" bin by right clicking the file name and choosing cut : To paste the clip point the cursor in an open area of the target column, right click, and choose Paste : file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (113 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

The area below the preview window marked Status then changes to read Pasting : file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (114 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Both The both column displays file names of clips that are dual captured. Keep in mind that these are two separate clips, one saved as a front clip, and the other as a target clip. This is the default saving method when two cameras are used for capturing, however, be advised that if two separate clips that were not dual captured are renamed with the same name, the file names will be listed under Both. This occurs because two clips now have the same file names, but not because they were dual captured. The clips will be displayed under different menu choices ( Front and Target ) in the main analysis page though. Also, if a swing is copied and pasted from front to target or vice versa (rather than cut and pasted) the swing name will then appear in the Both column because the system will have two clips saved with the same name in different folders. In this case the name refers to the same clip. If this is not satisfactory the program files would have to be accessed and one of the clips manually deleted to return the clip name to the front or target column. To avoid this, when moving swing clips from front to target or vice versa it is recommended to cut and paste rather than copy and paste the clips. In this way no duplication of files occurs. Photos and Lesson Segments Files in both of these columns can be edited in a standard Windows format: file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (115 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Choose an option and left click to access the function. Playlist The Playlist feature is used to play back several video clips in sequence. This is very effective for scouting. A common use would be to playback every pitch of the game in a matter of minutes or to have an opponents video looping in the clubhouse prior to the game. The first step is to highlight the video clips you want to see in your Swing Manager. This can be done in 3 ways: 1.) Left click off to ths side of the files and drag over the clips you want to select. Then right-click in the highlighted area and choose "Add Playlist" 2.) Hold down the Ctrl key and left click each clip you want to add. Then right-click in the highlighted area and choose "Add Playlist" 3.) Left click the first clip you want to highlight then click on the last clip while holding down the "Shift" key. Then right-click in the highlighted area and choose "Add Playlist" file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (116 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

The Following screen will appear file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (117 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Playlist Viewer Other editing information The Program Files More advanced editing can be done in the main program directory located in C:\ RVP Products, the folder that contains all the coach and student content ( Main ) is the svswings folder: Other editing information The Program Files More advanced editing can be done in the main program directory located in the Program Files folder. 119 When this folder is opened a list of coaches is displayed, when each coach is opened their associated student names are displayed, and when an individual student folder is opened the contents of a player data folder specific to that student is displayed. As is standard in working with any Windows system files, please take caution when working with the program files directory as this could affect the performance of the software. Appendix III: FAQ's/Troubleshooting Problem: The digital camera(s) keeps shutting off Answer: Most cameras have an automatic shutoff after five minutes if a tape is inserted. If you don't need to back up your swings to videotape then remove the tape and the camera will run for as long as power is available from either batteries or plug in power. Problem: The software viewing windows is not full screen file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (119 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

Answer Check that the display screen resolution options on your laptop are set to 800x600 Problem I'm filming on a windy day. Answer:On windy days an instructor should have a strategy for stabilizing the camera tripods and making sure the laptop is set up securely. My first recommendation would be to shorten the legs, or make the tripod shorter in total. If an instructor likes to fully extend all three sections of a standard tripod, they could start by extending just two sections, and also lower the center section so that it is not fully extended. This lowers the center of gravity of the tripod and makes it less susceptible to wind gusts. Also, some instructors have had success with either suspending a weight from the center section to further stabilize the tripod and/or finding a way to anchor the legs. Problem: The image is blurred in the swing clip Answer: Digital cameras control and manipulate existing light through shutter speed and iris level settings. The default shutter speed setting we recommend for both cameras is 1/1000. This shutter setting gives excellent resolution for seeing the bat and ball at impact, and in fact, all through the swing. Problem: I'm filming on a cloudy day. Answer: The light available determines what the best shutter speed setting should be at any given time. In optimal conditions (bright sunshine) the shutter speed can be set at 1/10,000, which gives an exceptionally clear image of the Ball and Bat at impact. Optimal conditions are rare, however, and also will not last over the course of a day. An instructor needs to be prepared for poor lighting conditions, and the strategy in those conditions is to progressively lower the shutter speed setting to a setting that lets in more light. Keep working with the shutter settings until you see an image that is the balance of brightness and clarity that you desire. Also, be aware that if lighting conditions force us to set the shutters at 1/500 or less, the clarity of the ball and bat in the video clip will be blurry. One remedy for this is to illuminate the player from the front with a portable halogen lamp (an inexpensive accessory). With the improved lighting from the halogen lamp the shutter speed can be increased. This image was captured at 1/2000 even though external conditions were not ideal. Problem: The two video windows have varying levels of contrast. Answer: The reality of filming a player from two views in daylight usually means that the two clips will vary in terms of contrast. For example, if the sun happens to be shining on the front of a player, then the target line view will probably have a bright sky and dark image, or too much contrast. Or, if the sun is shining on a player's body in the target line view, then the face-on view will be a little dark. This is standard when file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (120 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]

filming outdoors, and hopefully there is enough total light to give a satisfactory result. Also, we need to be alert to cloudy conditions and low light levels at the end of a day. In both of these situations I have had to lower the shutter speed setting. Typical difference in split-screen images because of the angle of the sun note difference in contrast. Problem: The dual capture images are different sizes. Answer: Regarding best image size, taking a couple of steps while setting up the IS300 system can give good results. First, I would record dual clips of a test subject or myself. I would then view that swing, and, using the tool bar, draw horizontal lines across the top of the head and the bottom of the feet, and vertical lines a comfortable distance on either side of the body. This should create a large square or rectangular box in the center of the screen. I would then make sure the image is a good size and centered in the box, and if not, move the camera until the size of the image is correct. This procedure gives optimal image sizes and also similar views from either camera in split screen mode file:///c /Documents%20and%20Settings/Don%20Slaug...VP/Desktop/2010%20Help%20Files/Ce300/308_help.htm (121 of 127) [2/7/2011 5:20:04 PM]
