1 TOYS R US SUPPORT HOTLINE: COMPLETE YOUR LCD DISPLAY UPDATE PROJECT BEFORE STARTING THE LCD MAINTENANCE PROJECT. A STORE SPECIFIC KIT IS RREQUIRED FOR THIS VISIT. Be sure to load ALL of your USB Drives with content ahead of your visit. Keep track of which displays still require content and be sure to bring it with you on your next visit. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED A TOOLKIT FROM CAST OR HAVE NOT COMPLETED THE TOYS R US LCD MAINTENANCE PROGRAM TRAINING. CONTACT YOUR TERRITORY COORDINATOR IMMEDIATELY. When you arrive at the store: 1 Sign into the vendor log book. Introduce yourself to the manager and explain changes happening this visit cycle.: 1. A Comprehensive update that will cover all recent content updates, POP updates, display movements, and display removals. 2 If not already done so: Let the store manager know LCD01 Light Saber, LCD05 IM Trains, LCD20 Apple, and LCD22 Playmobil are being removed from the endcap and being shipped out. Request a box and some packing material to place the contents into. 1. Detach the entire display bracket from the shelf. The Bracket is attached to the shelf with 4 screws located on the stabilizing arm and bracket base. 2. Place all components carefully into a box for shipping; including the power brick. 3. Prepare the box for shipping and attach the shipping label you printed previously. 4. Work with the store manager to secure a location for the box shipment for daily FedEx pickup. 5. Take a picture of the box showing the shipping label attached.

2 3 If not already done so: Update LCD03 Cra-Z-Art video Content with new Lil Lockitz content and place Lil Lockitz POP which was shipped to you. If possible, attempt to slide the Lil Lockitz POP in the space between the existing POP and bracket to pad it together. 4 5 Lil Lockitz POP If not already done so: Place NEW LCD04 Hasbro Games POP which was shipped to you in place of the old Hasbro Games POP. If possible, attempt to slide the new Hasbro Games POP in the space between the existing POP and bracket to pad it together. Hasbro Games POP If not already done so: Update LCD06 ASOTV with the NEW ASOTV Super Wubble video content. POP for this LCD will remain the same. If the POP is not for ASOTV please reverse the POP to show the backside and request new POP on your submission form. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. )

3 6 If not already done so: Update LCD09 Y-Volution Fliker Lift with the new Y-Volution Flyer video content and rotate the POP to show the backside. POP for this display will be updated during next cycle. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. ) Be sure not to confuse LCD09 with LCD08. Be sure not to confuse LCD09 with LCD08. LCD08 Y-Volution (Generic) should be located within the aisle. Whereas LCD09 Fliker Lift (Being Updated to Flyer during this visit) should be located on an end cap. Do Not Update UPDATE 7 If not already done so: Update LCD10 Dino Trux with the new Hot Wheels video mashup content and place the Hot Wheels POP which was previously shipped to you. This LCD needs to be moved and placed according to the store map. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. ) PICTURE REQUIRED After performing all services

4 8 If not already done so: L11 Nerf shelving unit adjustment: (Converting from Airhogs) Notify manager that current product will be pulled from the display so that shelving can be adjusted. Locate the Nerf LCD Screen / L11 on your TRU Floor Plan (previously Airhogs.) Purpose of this visit is to adjust the shelving so new product can be placed. Examples of Air Hogs Displays. Remove all product from the shelves before attempting to adjust any shelving. Get a shopping cart and put existing product on the shelf into the shopping cart. All pegged items must also be removed. Use more than one cart if needed.

5 8 If not already done so: L11 Nerf shelving unit adjustment (continued): After removing the product from the shelves you can start to remove the LCD unit by unscrewing the fastening screws depicted on page 10. **These endcaps are 3ft or 4ft wide. This does not in any way affect the shelf height adjustments.** Next, using the tape measure, measure 40 inches from the bottom base 40 inches from the bottom base. You may need assistance from a store manager or associate. With assistance from a store manager or store associate, move the LCD shelf to where you measured the 40 inches. Once the shelf is in the correct position, place the display back onto the RIGHT side of the shelf. This is in preparation for a future display to be placed on the left side of the shelf. **Photo is just for reference. Services should be preformed on L11 (prev. Air Hogs now Nerf)** Make sure that the display does not go over the right side of the shelf, and is flush with the edge.

6 8 If not already done so: L11 Nerf shelving unit adjustment (continued): Once the LCD Display shelf has been moved down then place a shelf above the LCD Display. Make sure that the shelf clears the display and is not sitting on top of it. It should sit 20 inches from the top of the base shelf (the shelf the display is on) to the top of the shelf above the LCD Display. Place shelf above the LCD Display. 9 If not already done so: AFTER adjusting the shelf height update LCD11 Air Hogs with the NEW Nerf video content. POP for this LCD was sent directly to the store. Please advise the manage to look out for the new Nerf POP and to have it placed on the display once it arrives. This LCD needs to be moved and placed according to the store map. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. ) 10 If not already done so: Update LCD12 Thomas with the NEW Thomas Sky Bridge video content. POP for this LCD will remain the same. If the POP is not Thomas please reverse the POP to show the backside. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. )

7 11 If not already done so: Update LCD13 Crayola with the NEW Crayola Holiday video content. 12 The old Crayola video will be replaced with the new Crayola Holiday video. POP must stay the same. Do NOT rotate to show the backside unless the current POP is wrong. If not already done so: Update LCD14 Barbie with the NEW Barbie Dream House video content. POP for this LCD should be the new Barbie POP. If the POP is not for Barbie please reverse the POP to show the backside and request new POP on your submission form. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. ) 13 If not already done so: Update LCD15 Star Wars Command with the NEW Star Wars Air Hogs video content. POP for this LCD was sent directly to the store. Please advise the manage to look out for the new Star Wars POP and to have it placed on the display once it arrives. This LCD needs to be moved and placed according to the store map. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. )

8 14 If not already done so: Place the NEW Generic Spinmaster POP for LCD16 (previously Chubby Puppies). The video content LCD16 should have been updated during a previous visit. If not completed on previous visit please do so during this visit. 15 If not already done so: Remove LCD18 from the Visual Collateral Bay and install the LCD screen and bracket out on the sales floor (review page 10 for instructions on Installing LCD Screen and Bracket ). Check the store map provided to you for where to place LCD Screen. 1. Place on sales floor according to the store map. 2. Update LCD18 content to the NEW Drones Sky Viper video content by inserting the SD card which was shipped directly to you. This is a touch screen display so it can not be updated by a USB drive. If there is a SD card already in the LCD remove it and hold on to it for further usage. The old SD card can be used in any regular LCD that has a missing or damaged SD card at any of your locations. 3. Place the NEW Drones POP which was shipped directly to you. 16 If not already done so: Update LCD19 Mega Bloks (Halo) with the new Mega Bloks (Generic) video content and place the Mega Bloks POP which was shipped directly to you. This LCD needs to be moved and placed according to the store map. (Review the section titled: LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK. )

9 INSTALLING LCD SCREEN & BRACKET 1) Check store map for location where to place LCD Screen. Move product aside with help from the store to create an open spot for the LCD screen. Mount the LCD Screen to the back brace of the bracket assembly using 4 screws. Secure LCD back brace on 4 hard points using screws. 2) Fasten the base of the bracket to the shelf. Hard points are located on the bottom of the frame and stabilizing arm. Bottom of Frame Fasten Screws Stabilizing Arm 3) Run the power brick from an open outlet to the LCD screen on the gondola. 4) If you need to replace the SD Card, remove control panel cover on the LCD Screen by removing the screws. 5) Disconnect old SD Card and replace with new SD Card. Make sure you hear an audible click to secure it. Disconnect OLD SD Card Replace with NEW SD Card Remove Control Panel Cover 6) Place POP into the slider on the Bracket. Cover the back of the display with the cortex tunnel.

10 TOYS R US LCD MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE FOR COMMON ISSUES Knowing the Different Types of Screens There are currently THREE different types of LCD Monitors you can encounter at your store. You can see the distinguishing marks, as well as know the capabilities and function each LCD Monitor type. These three monitor types can be categorized under two main categories; Standard LCD and Touchscreen LCD. YOU CANNOT LOAD STANDARD LCD CONTENT ONTO A TOUCHSCREEN, THIS WILL CAUSE A ROOT ERROR. ONLY USE TOUCHSCREEN CONTENT FOR TOUCHSCREEN LCD. THESE DISPLAYS ARE LCD08 YVOLUTION AND LCD18 SMART TOY. 11 TOYS R US LCD MAINTENANCE TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE FOR COMMON ISSUES No Signal Issue/Blank or Black Screen DESCRIPTION: White bar at the bottom of screen or a moving No Signal Message RESOLUTION: 1. Change LCD Input setting by clicking the INPUT button on a standard LCD and change to DMP. For Touchscreen LCD s click the VGA button and cycle through the options available. 2. Check SD Card. It must be secured tightly in the SD Card reader. You will hear the lock engage with a click. 3. Perform Factory Reset (Page 7) Input Button on Standard LCD Input Button on Touchscreen LCD Video Play Errors: Unsupported File or Root Error DESCRIPTION: LCD shows menu with Unsupported File Alert or ROOT OUTFORM error RESOLUTION: 1. Check power cable if it is being pressed by any product. This can cause the power to drop on the LCD resulting in a bad LCD Screen reload/restart. 2. Check SD Card. It must be secured tightly in the SD Card reader. You will hear the lock engage with a click. 3. Make sure you have loaded the video content correctly onto your USB device from computer. Carefully follow instructions provided in the Video Content Archive for either MAC or Windows based computers. For windows based computers, you MUST use the ISO to USB program. You can only load ONE content type per USB device. Restart the program after each use. 4. Perform power cycle on LCD. 5. Ensure you are using the correct screen. You CANNOT use a Touchscreen LD for regular content. 6. Perform Factory Reset

12 HOW TO: FACTORY RESET How to Perform Factory Reset on Standard LCD DESCRIPTION: Perform if you continue to have issues with screen content not Starting Automatically, Freezing after short playtime, unsupported File errors, Root errors or Sound Issues. RESOLUTION: 1. Click the Menu button on the control panel on a standard LCD. 2. Use Vol + to scroll to option menu. 3. Use Vol to scroll down the menu. 4. Highlight the Restore Factory Defaults 5. Click the Input button after highlighting the Restore Factory Defaults setting. How to Perform Factory Reset on Touchscreen LCD DESCRIPTION: Perform if you continue to have issues with screen content not Starting Automatically, Freezing after short playtime, unsupported File errors, Root errors or Sound Issues. RESOLUTION: 1. If you can locate the Rocket Production display Remote, WHILE CONTENT IS DISPLAYED, Select STOP on remote. 2. Click Setup on remote, this will take you to the SETUP MENU 3. Select PREFERENCES, go to DEFAULTS and enable FACTORY SET 4. Make sure AUTO PLAY is set to ON 1 2 3

13 DESCRIPTION: Load Content from USB Device to LCD Screen RESOLUTION: HOW TO: SERVICE DISPLAY CONTENT LCD CONTENT UPDATE USB STICK 1. Locate the LCD Screen that needs the content updated on your TRU Floor Plan. 2. The objective is to install new video content onto the LCD screen(s) that are not showing the video. 3. On the left side of the LCD monitor, you will need to remove the side panel signage and cortex cover over the LCD monitor to get to the USB port located on the side of the LCD. Remove the left side TRU branded signage. These are held on with white clips. 4. Next you will need to remove the screws from the side panel of the LCD to get to the USB port. 5. Using the Philips head screwdriver, remove the screws from the side panel. 6. The USB port will now be exposed. 7. Unplug the LCD monitor and put the CAST USB stick with correct video content into the USB port. 8. Plug the LCD monitor back in. 9. The video will begin to update automatically. Wait until the process is finished and replace the cover after removing the USB drive. A B C D

14 9. The video content should start uploading and may take a few minutes. 10. Once the video content has uploaded, verify that the correct video is playing. 11. Unplug the CAST USB stick and screw the USB cover back onto the LCD monitor. 12. Place cortex cover and side panel back on the display. 13. Please take a photo of the full display with store # and picture code in the photo. Video content uploading to the LCD monitor. SD Card Swap DESCRIPTION: How to change out the SD Card with a new SD Card. RESOLUTION: 1. You will need to remove the screws from the right side panel of the LCD monitor to get to the SD Card port. 2. Using the Philips head screwdriver, remove the screws from the side panel. 3. Remove the SD card from the LCD. A B C D

15 HOW TO: TROUBLESHOOT POWER ACCESS ISSUES Locating Power Source DESCRIPTION: If Monitor does not display/has Black screen, determine if this is an LCD Screen issue or Power Outlet Issue. RESOLUTION: 1. Test existing power outlet with phone charger. If working, there can be a problem with the LCD. 2. If power does not work, check around the display for other outlets on the gondola which could be working. 3. If there is no power on any of these outlets, report your findings to the store manager. IF THE POWER OUTLET DOES NOT WORK, REPORT THE POWER ELECTRICAL ISSUES TO THE MANAGER.
