1 Freeview Satellite Changes 2016 We have software updates available for all current Satellite Set Top Box s please read on below If you have a Set Top Box that is no longer supported you will need to manuly update the STB. This process varies dpending on the model and you should in the first instance talk to your local technician or refer to your place of purchase. If this is not possible please contact us to discuss your options. Download the current channel list for your STB 1. Open your web browser and go to the following web site

2 2. Click on the model of Set Top Box that you have, go to the software tab and download the channel update file. 3. Insert a USB stick into your computer. If the USB stick has been used in the past it is recommended to format it first. 4. Locate the file you have just downloaded This will normally be in your Downloads folder unless you have chosen to save this else where. 5. If you are using a Windows based PC right click on the file and choose send to USB. Other wise copy and and then paste the file onto the USB stick. 6. Eject the USB stick from the computer and connect it to your Set Top Box. The USB Stick will automatically mount on the Set Top Box. Please allow a few seconds for this to complete. 7. Follow the instructions for your model of Set Top Box Below. Important Note: Using these channel update files will revert your Set Top Box to running off a LNB if you had to change your LNB Settings for an LNB when the Set Top Box was first installed, you will have to go though this process again. Please refer to the Quick Tips Guide that came with your Set Top Box

3 Triax HDS 110 (305211) 1. Insert the USB stick into the Set Top Box. 2. Once it has mounted press the Menu button on the Remote. 3. Scorll sideways till you have the Channel Search menu highlighted. 4. Scroll down to DB Management and press OK 5. Select Load from USB and press OK

4 6. The file from your USB stick will now show up and be selected. Press OK to start the update. 7. Once the update has finished you can exit out of the menu. It is recommended at this point to reboot the Set Top Box to insure that all of the new settings have been saved.

5 Triax SHD 10+ (305212) NOTE: The download file for this STB is a Zip Archive you will have to open this and copy the two files contained with in it onto your USB Stick 1. Insert the USB stick into the Set Top Box. 2. Once it has mounted press the Menu button on the Remote. 3. Scroll down till you have the Tools menu highlighted, press OK. 4. Scroll down to Software-Update and press OK 5. You will be prompted to enter the password for the Set Top Box. This will be 0000 unless you have changed it.

6 6. Scroll down to Load Channel List and press OK 7. With Upgrade File highlighted scroll sideways to select the appropriate file for your Set Top Box If your STB is from prior to March 2016 use the file DB00.UDF If your STB is from March 2016 onwards use the file DB01.UDF

7 8. When prompted to burn flash choose YES 9. Once the update has completed the Set Top Box will automatically reboot. Do NOT remove the USB stick untill the Reboot is finished!!!!

8 Starview S2828+ This update is suitable for the S2828+ only and does not apply to the older S Insert the USB stick into the Set Top Box. 2. Once it has mounted press the Menu button on the Remote. 3. Scroll down till you have the Utility menu highlighted, press OK. 4. Scroll down to USB-Upgrade and press OK 5. You will be prompted to enter the password, this is 0000 unless you have changed it.

9 6. In the next screen you will see your USB stick loaded -- press OK 7. Scroll down to the update file user_db.bin and press OK 8. When asked if you wish to proceede with the update choose YES. 9. Once the update has completed the Set Top Box will reboot automatically.

10 Starview SHD20 Gen3 This update is suitable for the SHD20 Generation 3 only and does not apply to the older SHD20 s The SHD20 Gen 3 can be identifyed by its gold sides and a LCD Dispay on the IR Bug 1. Insert the USB stick into the Set Top Box. 2. Once it has mounted press the Menu button on the Remote. 3. Scroll sideways till you have the Upgrade menu highlighted, press OK. 4. Scroll down to USB/Card Upgrade and press OK 5. You will see your USB stick mounted here -- press OK

11 6. Scroll down to the update file flashfile.bin and press OK 7. The update will start and the Set Top Box will automatically reboot when it is finished.

12 Starview ST2020 Note: The menus shown below may vary slightly depending on the firmware you are runnning. 1. Insert the USB stick into the Set Top Box. 2. Once it has mounted press the Menu button on the Remote. 3. Scroll sideways till you have the Miscellaneous menu highlighted. 4. Scroll down to Software Upgrade and press OK 5. In the next screen you will see the update file -- jffsdir.tar.bz2 displayed press OK

13 6. When you are prompted to upgrade the channel data choose YES 7. Once the upload has completed the Set Top Box will automatically reboot. Please be patient as this can take quite some time.

14 OpenBox V6s 1. Insert the USB stick into the Set Top Box. 2. Once it has mounted press the Menu button on the Remote. 3. Scroll sideways till you have the Tools menu highlighted. 4. Scroll down to Upgrade by USB and press OK The update file should be displayed as 3511HD_Backup.abs 5. Scroll down to Keep DBS and Setting, then scroll sideways till NO is displayed. 6. Scroll down to Start and press OK.

15 7. When you see the warnig pop up as seen below choose YES 8. The Set Top Box will automatically reboot once the update is done. Please be patient as this can take some time.
