Any damage or malfunction caused by the use of unauthorised parts is not covered by Warranty or Product Liability. 1 - DESCRIPTION Open Protocol CVINET is a Windows Service which permits to retrieve results through OpenProtocol. Only one instance of Open Protocol CVINET can be connected to CVI NET. PC CVINET Service WEB Service Open Protocol CVINET (Service) 1 "CVINET Service" collects data from the controllers and stores them into the database. 2 "WEB Service" is a web server ("domain1 Glassfish Server"). It reads and analyzes the database. 3 "CVINET WEB" is the web interface. It displays data such as results, curves, reports, statistics, etc... (read-only). 4 Open Protocol CVINET _03-06/2017

5 2 - PREREQUISITE This procedure covers the installation of the application, considering that the database is already existing. This procedure explains only how to install the application and how to link to the database. The database can be on the same PC where CVINET is installed or on another server in the network. Connection to an Ethernet network Administrator rights are required for installation. Operating systems Windows 7 Windows XP Windows server 2003 Windows server 2008 R2. Minimum versions Mozilla Firefox 28 of WEB browsers supported for Google Chrome 39 CVINET WEB Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 Java environment Java JRE 7 Free disk space 500 MB Processor 1.6 GHz 4 Gb RAM free Required free ports 4848, 8080, 8081, 8686, 3700, 3820, 3920, 22, 9009, 6666, 7676, 9090, 9200, plus two ports auto-generated SQL type database MySQL 5.5 Oracle 10G MS SQL Server 2005 SQ Lite Database account host name name port user password Non-exhaustive list of the products supported into some extend: CVI CVIS and CVIC equipped with "SEI" CVI II CVIX II CVI3 Delta Wrench WLAN Power Focus 3000/4000 Cooper m-pro-400 Stanley Alpha etc... CVINET WEB software licensing is made per controller (1 controller as a minimum). CVINET SERVICE software files are located in C:\Program Files\Desoutter\CVINetWeb by default. In addition to the "Open protocol CVINET" service license, one license will be required for every device connected to CVINET _03-06/

6 3 - INSTALLATION Click "Next". Launch CVINet_OpenProtocolAdapter_xxxx_setup.exe. Click "Run". Click "Next". Click "Next". Click "Install". Click "Next". Click "Finish". "Open Protocol CVINET" is installed as a Windows service _03-06/2017

To launch the software, click "Start All programs Desoutter CVINetWeb" folder "Open Protocol CVINET" folder Open Protocol CVINET configuration. The following webpage is displayed: _03-06/

8 4 - WEBPAGE SETTINGS List of controllers Software activation Launch "Open Protocol CVINET configuration" to get the public key. Save this public key in Wordpad for example. Click this icon to refresh the list of controllers. The parameters displayed are: IP address Port Last result ID MID revision Settings Server To get more information about how to activate the software, refer to the user manual "Sofware registration procedure" available at To complete the installation, the controllers must be connected to the database. Refer to the "CVINET WEB & SERVICE" user manual to get more information. Check that the server IP address and the port number are correct. By default, the "Open Protocol CVINET" is installed on the same PC as 'CVI Net Service': IP address: Port: If different PCs are used, enter the new settings (IP address and port number) and click "Save settings". In all cases, click "Restart Open Protocol CVINET". Tick the box "Log activated" on request of your Desoutter representative Service Click this icon to restart the service _03-06/2017

9 5 - CVINET WEB SETTINGS Open the Internet browser and connect to the address where the CVINET WEB software is located. The welcome page is shown. 6 - CONTROLLER SETTINGS Check that in the controller, settings are the same as in CVINET WEB. Refer to the user manual of the controller provided by the manufacturer. In case the Open Protocol port number of the controller is not 4545, change the settings in CVI NET WEB accordingly. Log in as an administrator. Click this icon to display the Edit menu. Click "Controllers management". Enter the controller IP address, tick "Authorized" and "Open protocol" and click "Save" _03-06/

10 7 - FINAL CHECK CVINET WEB page Open Protocol CVINET Open the "Open Protocol CVINET" web page. Click "List of controllers. Open the "CVINET WEB" page and go to the "Controller Management" screen. Check the settings of the controllers: the connection is set to "yes" the checkbox "authorized" is ticked the token is set to "Yes" the correct port is entered in the Open Protocol checkbox. The IP addresses entered in CVINET WEB should be displayed. The "Last Result ID" should be different from _03-06/2017

11 7.3 - Collecting results - CVI Net Monitor From Windows, click Start Programs Desoutter CVINetWeb. Lauch "CVI Net Monitor". Click this icon to display the results as they are received by CVINet SERVICE Collecting results - CVINET WEB Open the "CVINET WEB" page. Live results viewer Select the "Open protocol" controllers. Click the icon to display the results from the controllers in real time Collecting results - Open Protocol CVINET Check that every new tightening result is successfully collected : Open the "Open Protocol CVINET" web page. Click "List of controllers" Click "Refresh". The last "Result ID" should be updated while new results are collected.
