3 Compute Resources GridEngine cluster (132 nodes, 2222 cores, 40 GPUs) core with 128G or 256G RAM 5 48-core with 256G RAM core w/64g RAM core w/24g RAM and an assortment of others 10 GPU servers with 4 GTX1080s each Mailing List: compute@lists.cs.brown.edu Research machines, robots, etc... use by arrangement only File servers GPFS clustered file servers (437 TB) main filesystem backed up daily snapshots every 4 hours.snapshots directory daily snapshots saved for 7 days weekly snapshots saved for 30 days read-only /home, /course, /research, etc... also /data and /nbu /data - less volatile data, daily backups, no snapshots /data/people/<username> /nbu - not backed up /nbu/people/<username> NFS File services Key points Network Internet, Campus, Wireless accessible only within the department only from trusted machines (linux) CIFS authenticated access (windows, mac, linux) accessible from trusted & smn (see next slide) 3 network segments DMZ external services SMN untrusted Trusted file services...
