17 ScanINSPECT BPI Programming and Inspection Process In six quick and easy steps! 1. Scan board at appropriate dpi 2. Separate the solder balls from the image 3. Identify the solder balls for inspection 4. Verify each solder ball 5. Teach fiducials 6. Inspect

18 1. Scan The substrate is scanned at the appropriate dpi and displayed in color

19 2. Separate Solder Balls The solder balls are separated away from the color image and is converted to a blue raster image.

20 3. Ball Recognition The software automatically determines the ball size and position from the blue raster image.

21 4. Verify and Edit Ball Count The software counts each solder ball and allows for review and editing.

22 5. Define Fiducials Teach two fiducial locations.

23 6. Inspect Substrate Programming is now complete and 100% in-line inspection can be started.
