3 Introduction Who: All and system users What: Effective: New SSR CHLD with changes to PNR and Booking File and a modification to the SSR INFT age format June 1, 2007 for SSR INFT June 15, 2007 for SSR CHLD Why: Message sent to the airline advising the number and ages of children and infants on the flight allowing the airline to ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed. Changes enable the and systems to be compliant with industry standards required by AIRIMP. Impacted Platforms: All terminal emulation (TE) and structured data platforms including Focalpoint, Desktop, Web Services, and XML Select Background Information A new SSR CHLD becomes effective 15 June, The new SSR CHLD will be used to advise airlines of the presence of a child passenger so that airlines can ensure appropriate safety procedures are followed. Freeform text is allowed with the SSR CHLD to indicate the birth date of the passenger. If the child s birth date is sent in the freeform text, a standard format must be used. Additionally, the SSR INFT is changing. Currently the SSR INFT requires the input of the infant age in number of months. Effective 01 June, 2007, the SSR INFT will change and require the input of infant s birth date instead of age in months. All other current SSR INFT and infant name field functionality will remain unchanged.

4 Enhancement Description Manual SSR CHLD The new SSR CHLD will be entered, via a (pillow): 3 () or SI () entries, or from a PRO-file or Client File move, in a PNR/Booking File in both the and systems. It follows the same restrictions for cancel/changes. It will be associated with a passenger and may contain a birth date If there is more than one passenger in the booking, it will require a single name selection The child birth date is detailed in optional freeform text at the end of the entry The SSR can be stored in the R lines of a PRO-file/Client File. The correct name must be appended to the move entry for correct completion. Example 1 Manual entry for child who is the second passenger in the reservation. The birth date must be entered in the DDMMMYY format; two numeric representation of the day, three character presentation of the month, and two numeric representation of the year. 10 SSR INFT - Infant Name Field Birth Date Currently the infant name field includes the infant s age in months; xxmths. Effective June 1, 2007, infant birth dates will be required in the mandatory name remarks for infant name fields. This will apply not only to new bookings, but also to ALL existing PNRs or Booking Files, with future travel dates (beyond May 31, 2007) which are modified and End Transacted after May 31, The birth date must be entered in the DDMMMYY format: two numeric representation of the day, three character presentation of the month, and two numeric representation of the year. NOTE Effective June , the and systems will no longer accept the xxmths format for infant age. If there are fewer infant birth dates than names, the birth date of the first infant will be applied to those infant names without a birth date. 13 SSR INFT Entering Infant Birth Date All existing SSR entries for the INFT SSR will be modified to require the new DDMMMYY format of the infant birth date. Only the format of the infant age is changing. All other functionality related to INFT SSRs (manual or programmatic) will remain the same. 14 If infant age is not entered correctly there is a current error message displayed. The current message will change to reflect the new birth date format. The following new error message is displayed: NEED INFANT BIRTH DATE IN FREEFORM TEXT ENTER AS DDMMMYY NOTE - Existing SSR INFT items entered in the old format added prior to June 1, 2007 can remain in the PNR or Booking File for the life of the booking. There will be no alerts advising of an incorrect birth date format existing SSR INFT entries UNLESS the Booking File/PNR is modified and End Transacted on or after June 1, Resources Appropriate HELP and HELP ENHANCE profiles will be created prior to the June 1, 2007 deployment.
