4 Essential Studio User Interface Controls Essential Studio user interface components contain the most complete set of UI tools on the market including the best performing grid control in the industry, docking and menu frameworks, data-binding controls, and schedulers. With the visualizations found in Essential Chart, Gauge, and Diagram, data can be presented in engaging, meaningful ways. JavaScript UI Suite of JavaScript Controls Designed to enrich the user experience on the client side, this new suite of JavaScript controls offers all the common user interface elements grids, charts, dialogs, tree views, numeric text boxes, and autocomplete controls, to name a few. WinRT Grid for WinRT Nested grid and row templates Row header and row drag and drop Context menu In addition to the traditional tabular data view, this feature will allow the Grid control to support a hierarchical view of the data in the form of nested tables. Row headers can be used to present additional information for a row. The feature will also enable users to drag and drop rows in the grid. It also supports built-in features such as grouping, sorting, and filtering. IsSupportIncremental enables records to be populated in the grid when users drag the scroll thumb to a specific position. Users will be able to access a number of APIs in edit mode, including date time, masked edit, percentage, currency, and time span. This feature will enable vertical navigation in the grid view. Chart for WinRT Custom colors for bitmap series Start angle for circular series Chart axis label placement New chart series types Drag and drop series or data points This feature will enable users to apply a different color to each segment of a bitmap series chart. Users can set the start angle for a pie series and doughnut series. The angle can then be used to customize segment start angles. This feature will apply to circular series using degrees from 0 to 360. Axis labels can be placed between ticks on a chart, similar to an Excel chart. New chart types will be implemented, including stacked area 100, stacked column 100, stacked bar 100, and fast stacked column series. 12 Document map Sparkline support Data visualization controls in Tablix cells Data-bar support The document map provides a set of navigational links to report items in a rendered report. An end user can click links in the document map to jump to the report page that displays the item. The ability to render sparklines will be available. Sparklines are small, simple charts that convey a lot of information in a small amount of space without the use of traditional axis lines and labels. Data can be displayed from a report data set in a table or matrix within a data cell in the Chart, Gauge, Sparkline, and DataBar controls. The data will be displayed in the same way as the text box and image controls in a Tablix report item. The ability to render a data bar in the ReportViewer control will be available. Data bars typically represent a single data point, though they can represent multiple data points, just like regular bar charts. They often contain several series with no category, or have series grouping. They include a bar and column type with stacked subtypes. Report Viewer ASP.NET MVC Multi-value report parameters Dependent parameters This feature enables users to select multiple report parameter values. In the report parameter, if multiple-value selection is enabled, the available values in will be displayed in a multiplevalue selection format. Populated parameter values depend upon other parameter values. If the parameter value is changed and another parameter depends on this value, the values for dependent parameters will be repopulated. 13 DocIO HTML and RTF conversion Character spacing during DOC-to-PDF conversion Support for Unicode word-by-word rendering End users will have the ability to convert Word documents into HTML and RTF formats in a Silverlight environment. Character spacing will be maintained during conversions from DOC to PDF format. Developers will be able to ensure Unicode text is rendered wordby-word.
