Personalize the Number of Search Fields on Basic Search

Feature Summary Personalize the Number of Search Fields on Basic Search You can select whether one or three search fields appear on the Basic Search page and register or sign in to save that setting. Linked Hot Papers and Highly Cited Papers Badges Learn more about Web of Science records that are Hot or Highly Cited within Essential Science Indicators. Updated Medline Search the most current version of the Medline data from the NLM with the up-to-date MeSH indexing and thesaurus. Improved Google Scholar Full Text Linking More accurate links to Google Scholar from Web of Science for additional full-text options. Improved JCR Category Display Improved representation of JCR categories in the Journal Information box. 2 There is a new Default Number of Search Fields to Display setting on the Basic Search page that lets you select to view 1 or 3 fields by default. You can register or sign in to save this setting so you don t have to select it every time you use Web of Science When 3 fields is selected, you will see Topic, Author, and Publication Name fields by default.

3 You can learn more about Web of Science records that are Hot or Highly Cited within Incites Essential Science Indicators. Note: You must subscribe to InCites Essential Science Indicators to see these badges.

4 The Medline reload will ensure that the changes recommended by the National Library of Medicine will be reflected at WoK and timely weekly updates will continue to be accepted. The Web of Science 5.14 release includes a complete baseline reload to replace all records ensuring that you have the most current and accurate MeSH indexing and the updated version of the MeSH thesaurus. Web of Science now sends more information from the record to Google Scholar to increase the accuracy of the Look Up Full Text button.

5 Some JCR Categories are represented in both JCR Editions: Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Social Science Citation Index (SSCI). If a category appears in both editions, then we add the edition name to the Journal Information display (which is accessed by clicking the view journal information link on article records. Overlapping categories are: History & Philosophy of Science Nursing Public, Environmental & Occupational Health Rehabilitation Substance Abuse Psychiatry

6 If you change the sort order, then that sort will be applied to subsequently viewed summary pages where possible. This way, if you change the sort order of search results and run another search then the new sort order will be applied by default.
