2 InfoSphere GNR consists of a set of best-of-breed name-recognition, name-matching, and business name technologies that solve the complex problem of searching and managing personal name data in a multicultural, error-prone world. The technologies can be used to develop applications that spot fraud and other threats. The software takes into account alternative spellings, cultural nuances, and other linguistic issues in an attempt to return the most relevant information for a search query. This saves the user the time and expense of evaluating a long list of imprecise matches. InfoSphere GNR technologies include: IBM InfoSphere Global Name Management V4.1 IBM InfoSphere Global Name Analytics V4.1 IBM InfoSphere Global Name Scoring V4.1 Key prerequisites Refer to the Hardware requirements and Software requirements sections. Description (GNR) V4.1 includes new releases of the following products: IBM InfoSphere Global Name Management V4.1 IBM InfoSphere Global Name Analytics V4.1 IBM InfoSphere Global Name Scoring V4.1 Major new features Business names support in the following areas: Recognition and scoring of digits and special characters allows processing of business names such as "1st Union Bank" and "First Union Bank," "1776 Cafe" and "Seventeen Seventy-six Cafe," and Large" and "World at Large". Recognition of business legal terms such as "Inc." for "Incorporated," and "S.A." for "Sociedad Anonima". Recognition of special stop words and other non-searchable terms such as "and," "the," "de," and "la". Recognition of professional qualifiers such as "Ann Smith, LCSW" and "David G. Morgan, Attorney at Law". Ability to handle variable spacing in acronyms and legal terms such as "ADT Incorporated" and "A D T Inc.". Ability to automatically differentiate personal names and organization names within a list and apply type-specific matching strategies. Enhanced phonetic matching: New name-regularization rule sets for Chinese, French, Hispanic, and Korean provide the capability for phonetic matching for personal names. 3 because they sound alike to some degree. This adds to current GNR capability that covers the Anglo, Arabic, German, Russian, Thai, and Indian languages. Increased NameWorks functionality: A single Name object has been introduced to represent information about personal and organization names, simplifying management of both name categories. Culture information can now be applied to pair-wise comparison through the new Name objects. The ability to override default comparison parameters, through search strategies, has been added. Single instance search for both embedded and distributed searching is now provided, allowing easy conversion between implementation modes and mixing of runtime architectures. Management of multiple search threads, used in concurrent searching, has been improved to allow greater control over CPU resources dedicated to searching. IBM InfoSphere Global Name Management V4.1 InfoSphere Global Name Management delivers a best-of-breed suite of name-analysis and name-matching technologies designed to address the specific needs and demands of managing, searching, scoring, and matching multicultural name data sets. It consists of the complete analytic and scoring capabilities for personal names and now business names. While most traditional name-recognition software is designed to manage and score data assets in westernized, romanized cultures, InfoSphere Global Name Management was designed using a unique knowledge base of multicultural names. This knowledge base consists of the global linguistic knowledge and expertise gained from 25 years of linguistic research and the analysis of approximately 800 million names from across the world. Working from this knowledge base, InfoSphere Global Name Recognition delivers a suite of tools designed to meet the unique demands of managing data sets from cultures as diverse as Anglo/ European, Arabic, Chinese, Hispanic, French, German, Indian, Korean, Pakistani, Russian/ Slavic, Thai, Japanese, West African, and more. IBM InfoSphere Global Name Analytics V4.1 InfoSphere Global Name Analytics is a best-of-breed suite of name-analysis technologies that addresses the needs and demands of managing multicultural name data sets. By determining the cultural classification of a personal name, it provides accurate linguistic and statistical analyses of names, including: Recognizing gender, based on frequency information Determining which part of a name in likely to be the given name or surname Generating attested alternative Roman spellings of a name IBM InfoSphere Global Name Scoring V4.1 InfoSphere Global Name Scoring is a technology for orthographic and phonetics-based search and scoring of multicultural names in a database. Names can be matched even when they manifest spelling and cultural variations, are related by sound but not by spelling, or are altered by spelling or other data entry errors. The rampant name variation introduced by transliteration and pronunciation of unfamiliar names from around the globe can be handled by InfoSphere Global Name Scoring. InfoSphere Global Name Scoring improves the accuracy and quality of identity-verification initiatives by providing ranked name search results based on the orthographic, phonetic, and syntactic patterns of names. Default search routines are supplemented with culture-specific rules and information, drawing from an international knowledge base derived from approximately 800 million names and more than 25 years of research. IPLA and Subscription and Support considerations IPLA licenses can be transferred from one machine to another within, but not limited to an enterprise. You may aggregate the capacity for all the processors the product is operated on to achieve a more economic price. This will result in a single Proof of Entitlement (PoE). It is your responsibility to manage the distribution of Value s within the limits of the entitlement of the product license.
