Amazing Charts Version Version 8.3 addresses some key performance issues reported by users since the release of version 7, offers the ability to limit the display of your imported items based on date range (while also increases system performance) and various defects introduced in version 7 and 8 over the past year. 2 Performance Enhancements Overall In this version, we have focused on making some key performance enhancements in some of the most common workflow areas of Amazing Charts. The list of performance enhancements so far are as follows: Opening the Write Scripts screen View medication details Transmitting a Prescription Print/Transmit Pharmacy Search Initial log in to Amazing Charts Patient Search Imported Items Medications/ePrescribing The speed of opening the Patient Medications/ePrescribing (i.e. Write Scripts ) screen is now much quicker, with load times of up to 2.5 times faster! Actions taken on this form (such as clicking on the Prepare Script button when preparing to prescribe a medication) will also be snappier now. We have made even more significant speed enhancements to the Pharmacy Selection/Transmit to Pharmacy screen. This form should now load at least 3 times faster for patients without any preferred pharmacies selected. If the patient does have a preferred pharmacy, the load time is improved even further, at approximately 4 times faster than it has been in past versions of Amazing Charts! In their entirety, the performance enhancements made on these two forms will lead to a much better overall experience when prescribing drugs for your patients. Preferred Pharmacies The Pharmacy Lookup screen used to search for and set preferred pharmacies for a patient (accessed via Patient Demographics) will now open significantly faster, with speed improvements similar to those defined above for the Pharmacy Selection/Transmit to Pharmacy screen. Imported Items Opening the Imported Items tab in the Patient s Chart is now faster. On average, you can expect this form to load in approximately 2/3 of the time it used to take. Using the new date filter on this tab (defined in more detail later in this document) will lead to even greater performance enhancements, with load times approaching 3 times faster than it used to be! Superbills / Account Information The speed when creating a new Superbill for an encounter, as well as opening the Account Information tab in the patient s chart, has been enhanced. Speed increases between 1.5 times to 2 times faster should be experienced. Patient Search In order to speed up the patient search, several changes were implemented which will change how you search for a patient. To view the entire list of patients, press the spacebar bar in ID, Last name or First name field. Typing one character into any of these fields will cause the patient list to not display. The system starts searching after two characters are entered into any of the search fields. Clicking the all or active radio buttons will not return a result set immediately but if results are displayed, it will change to show all patients or just the active ones. Page 2 of 14 Version
Performance Enhancements (Continued) Patient Search The algorithm when searching for a patient on the main form has been completely revamped. This new algorithm eliminates the seemingly random pauses or delays that has been seen and reported by users in previous versions of Amazing Charts. Application Launch The time to launch the Amazing Charts application from when you double click the icon to when you are presented with the login screen has been sped up. The application now loads in 2/3 of the time, on average, than it used to. Additionally, you will find that the amount of system RAM that the Amazing Charts executable consumes after being launched has been drastically reduced, from an average of approximately 300MB down to approximately 100MB! If you re using Windows Vista, Windows 7 or higher, the visual theme of your computer may make a performance difference when closing Amazing Charts screens. In Control Panel, change the Personalization Theme to an Aero theme. Page 3 of 14 Version
Imported Items - pre-defined date ranges The first time you open imported items the system will default to the last 12 months. If the date range is changed the system will remember the selection the next time you open imported items. The pre-defined date ranges are accessed via the dropdown. Page 4 of 14 Version
Pharma Brand Patient Education User Preference Changed the wording of the existing ecoupon user preference. Added an option to print copay assistance and patient education programs by default when prescribing medications. Both of these preferences are applicable to ecopay and patient education programs. If you uncheck Participate in copay assistance and education programs, you can turn off all offers except the Branded education on current medications in the Write scripts screen. If you deselect Print copay assistance and education programs by default when prescribing medication, this will uncheck the Print Program option. These new copay assistance and education programs option have no impact on system performance. Page 5 of 14 Version
Add Branded Patient Education to Current Medications If a Pharmaceutical company has Brand specific patient education available for a medication then we will display an icon in the current medication as a visual indicator that the materials are available. The Right click menu has been modified. The existing Retrieve patient education option has been changed to Retrieve Patient Education Lexicomp and a new option has been added; Retrieve Brand Patient Education. This option is enabled only when Brand Patient Education is available for the medication. Page 6 of 14 Version
Patient Education on the print/transmit screen Similar to PDR programs, if patient Brand education exists an icon will display in the print/transmit screen for the medications. The icon has been changed to. When you click the icon if a program exists, the system will display the program content and then the icon will change to include a green dot as an acknowledgment that content exists. Page 7 of 14 Version
Change ecoupon icon in Formulary screens A new icon now displays for ecopay and patient education programs in the formulary screens. Page 8 of 14 Version
Add Encounter Diagnosis section to CCDA Encounter Diagnosis section is now available in the Transfer of Care and Clinical Summary C-CDAs. The section is in the Human readable and machine readable versions and meets Meaningful Use Stage Certification Standards. This sections contain diagnosis that are in the assessment for a given encounter date. Page 9 of 14 Version

Not all set of vital signs are see when pulling forwarded charts or on past encounters with filter on. If a patient is created over the interface from AC to ACPM, and the response does not contain the ACPM ID, then the patient mapping is not done. Added flag to detect existing and not mapped patient then create mapping in ProcessPatients. Renewals requests not displaying when GUID formatting error occurs. If an electronic renewal request Prescription ID contains a numeric value, the user will receive an error messaging when trying to process the request. Added crash protection when trying to match a med to an external prescription ID MU2 Core 15 Summary Care via Direct "None" not counting toward numerator. When a transfer of care is sent to a direct via Updox the status is none. This transfer of care would not count towards the measure. Updox can receive a processed status at a later time so the program has been changed to recheck the Updox status whenever a status of none is received. ACPM User allowed to map an external patient ID to two AC patient IDs. Made changes to stop multiple mappings. When a chart is forwarded and the user logs off, dozens of error messages are received and then program crashes. Added functionality to persist the cached Context.ActiveUser property when logging out if the grid is refreshing. Then clear on login. Electronics prescription for Medicare Part B patient rejected for including ICD-9 codes. Electronic prescriptions will include only ICD-10 codes not ICD Page 12 of 14 Version
Known Issues that Exist in 8.3 The issues listed below describe defects that we acknowledge exist in this version of Amazing Charts and have been reported by other users. We will be addressing these in a future release. If the correction is already scheduled and in process it will have a timeframe noted in the Planned Resolution column. At this time we are unable to commit to a timeframe for the other but most all of them are planned for the next major release. Depending upon your workflow and usage of Amazing Charts these may or may not impact you and the level of impact will also depend on your specific usage of the feature. If you feel that the negative impact of some of these issues outweigh the benefits offered in this release you may choose to wait for your specific issues to be resolved before you update. Functional Area Reported in Version Known Potential Issue Work-around Planned Resolution HPV vaccine not in Summary Sheet Completed immunizations The following vaccines are not displaying when you click Completed Immunization from the summary sheet: Agriflu Preservative Free Bexsero Fluzone Quad Intradermal Fluzone Quadrivalent Pediatric Gardasil 9 Trumenba This issue has been identified and will be resolved in version 9.0 ***You must check Show by Brand Name to see the vaccine*** 9.0 Q Charting Spell Checker 8 Labs 7.1 Letter Writer 7.1 If the option to check spelling when a note is signed is enabled, the new Spellchecker will not check in the Overall Family History of structured Family History on sign off. In the Letter Writer, if you select the option to add the Updated Meds list to the letter, all medications will be added instead of just the list of updated medications. If the option to check spelling as you type is enabled, the spellchecker will check for errors in structured Family History.
