RESOLVED s DOCUMENT Resolved s 2015 SP1.1 * Please refer to What s New PDF document for details regarding enhancements in Help Desk ID Area 1. CW Post 2. CW Help 3. CW Rebuild 4. CW System Description SOLIDWORKS crashes when a post operation is inserted and edited with the specific post processor. In German version of, when the user clicks on the Help button on any of the tabs (except tool tab) of the Rough Mill s Operation Parameters, then the associated Help page does not open. crashes when user opens specific part file in 2015 SP1, then imports CAM data and attempts a Light Rebuild. Toolpath (CAM data) was generated for the specific part in 2015 SP0.1. When user tries to open this part in 2015 SP1, the following error message is displayed: CAM data cannot be restored from document files. Please consult your documentation for details. 5. CW UI The Active option checkbox option gets unchecked randomly without user intervention. It takes several restart iterations to enable this checkbox option. 6. CW Operation 7. CW Operation 8. CW Features In the specific part when the user inserts a Multiaxis operation with pattern type set to "Flowline between curves" and copies the parameters from another multi axis mill operation which has been created by importing CAM data then, crashes. Post operation Force tool change doesn t allow the turret to be changed when editing the Post operation in the Operations tree after it has been inserted. In 2015, when user interactively inserts a 2.5 Axis feature, defines the depth, island, entity, etc. and clicks the OK button, the dialog box exits. A pin-unpin functionality needs to be provided for this dialog box. 1 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 2015 SP1 1. CW UI In SP1, during Assembly Machining, when user exercises the Override option in the Indexing tab for a Setup and inputs a negative angle value, displays an error message stating that only values between 0 degree and 36o degrees can be entered. Previous versions of (including 2015 SP0.1) allowed users to input negative values. 2. CW Features 3. CW Configurations 4. CW Setup Sheet 5. CW API 6. CW Post 7. CW Features 8. CW Toolpath 9. CW Assembly When the Recognize Features command is executed at Mill Part Setup Level, all features are recognized but similar/identical features are not grouped together. When user changes a configuration in the SOLIDWORKS Configuration Manager and selects the "Show selected" option in the Configuration dialog box, then crashes. In Turn and Mill-Turn mode, the Spindle Direction (CW and CCW) is not output to the XML Setup Sheet. In nested assemblies where multiple instances of the same part machined from a common stock, groups all instances of the part by default. This results in a grouped toolpath. An API needs to be provided to split the grouped instances into individual parts, resulting in complete toolpaths for every instance of the part. Create new post variable or new Query command for a Turn Thread operation to retrieve the value of the number of starts for a Turn Thread cycle. In 2015, tor the specific part, the sketch intended to be used for interactively inserting a 2.5 Axis feature is not listed in the available Sketches list. This was working correctly in In 2015, for the specific part, the Pattern Project toolpath with Flowline pattern crosses over itself and does not follow the Start point of the curve. This was working correctly in In Assembly mode, the Setup MCS offsets in the Offset tab are incorrect when Origin is set to Part Setup Origin. 2 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 10. CW License 11. CW Post The License Manager utility stops working when user borrows some modules, starts the SOLIDWORKS/ Solids application and then clicks the OK button of the License Manager dialog box when the Authorized Modules tab is active. QUAD=NO181 Mill-Turn Mill Face Free operation not working correctly. 12. CW Translation 13. CW Post In the Spanish version of 2015 TechDB, translation errors have been observed for Hole Feature Sub-types in the Hole Features and Options form. For the Mill-Turn part s posted code, the Start sync codes M100 and M101 are correct but the position of the Sync Code M102 is incorrect. 14. CW Machine Simulation Provide a document listing Error Codes encountered during Virtual Machine Simulation and the cause of those error codes. 15. CW TechDB 16. CW Post 17. CW Operations 18. CW Tool 19. CW Turn 20. CW Toolpath 21. CW Post Hole thread mapping doesn t work if the upper and lower limits for the diameter of the hole are set to zero. Create a Post Query command to verify if the Sub Programs in Assembly mode have been set to True or False. For Mill operations, when user executes the Generate operation Plan command, the H and D offset values of the tool are reset as per the station number it is assigned. This over writes the values set in the tool crib in the TechDB. In 2015 SP0, the tool in the 'Tool Crib' cannot be replaced by the 'Tap Cutting' and 'Tap Rolling' tool from the tool database when 'Filter by' option is inactive. This was working correctly in previous versions of. For the specific Turn part, the user defined Turn insert used for the Turn Finish Toolpath operation gouges the part and doesn t follow the OD Feature shape. The Apply to all button on the Feature Options tab for the Entry Type of Contour Mill operation doesn t make any impact on the toolpath. For Mill/Turn parts, when a Circular Pattern is used with some of its instances skipped for the feature and if a post operation is used in between the corresponding operations, then the C-axis values in the generated NC 3 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT code are incorrect. 22. CW Setup Sheet 23. CW CW Setup Sheet 24. CW License 25. CW Toolpath 26. CW Toolpath 27. CW Translation 28. CW License 29. CW Toolpath 30. CW Operation When executing the command for generating XML-based Setup Sheets for the NC Manager level, it is desired that XY ZX Isometric images be generated for each Setup. Also, separate Setup sheets need to be generated for each setup. When user generates a Setup Sheet for any Turn part using a user-defined Style sheet template named TurnProcessSheet.xsl, the Total time value is not updated. When the Russian language version of is loaded as an Add-In in SolidWorks, it crashes when the License expiry date is close to expiring. This Crash occurs before showing the License expiry information in Russian language. For the specific part, though Spiral Entry is defined as the Entry Method for all features, it is not reflected on all the features being machined by the same operation. In Assembly mode when calculate safe CNC toolpath is set to OFF under the setup tab of machine node, the contour mill toolpath with rest roughing options set to ON is not generated. But the toolpath display is shown in the graphics area. However the user will not be able to post process the toolpath. In Italian version of, in the UI for interactively inserting a Multisurface feature, the icons for Face select Option overlap and are unstable, leading to difficulty in selecting the Faces. For a floating license installation, the License Borrow option is disabled for clients (users) who don t have Admin rights. License borrowing should be allowed for non-admin users. If 2015 SP0 version is installed on a system (with SOLIDWORKS 2015) for the first time, then fails to generate toolpaths for any part. In Mill machines with rotary axis, the mode for rotary axis should be set to 'Fixed' for all features except wrapped features. Currently this is being controlled by the settings made in TechDB and the user cannot change them in. 4 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 31. CW Setup Sheet 32. CW Setup Sheet 33. CW Post 34. CW Configuration 35. CW Toolpath 36. CW Post 37. CW Setup Sheet 38. CW Toolpath 39. CW Operation 40. CW UI 41. CW Features In any Turn part with units set to inches, for OD Turn - Rough operations, there is a data value mismatch between the Operation parameters and the XML-based Setup Sheet data. The start point of the First feed move(x, Z) for any turn operation should be available for display in XML based setup sheets. For the GETMCS command, a new option GETMCS(3,CALC_xxxxx) needs to be added which will retrieve all work coordinates and angles but not the duplicate angle pairs. When the specific Turn part is opened, it causes both and SOLIDWORKS to crash. For the specific part, the Thread Milling Toolpath with circular pattern generated with multipoint tool doesn t have a retract move at the end. Add a new system variable IS_TLP_COMPENSATED that will pass information on whether a Milling operation is using with or without system compensation option. In the XML-based Setup Sheet generated for Turn operations, data on the parametric values for First Cut Amount, Final Cut Amount, Axial Stock Amount (X) and Radial Stock Amount needs to be provided. For the specific Mill part, the toolpaths generated for Contour Mill operations for curve features contain uneven moves. For Contour Mill operations, the Depth Parameter option of Ramp is active though Chamfer Mill option has been selected. The Ramp option should be disabled when Chamfer Mill option is selected. While interactively a multi-surface feature, the Highlight Faces button command fails to highlight faces if the button is first used unhighlight already selected faces and then immediately clicked once again to highlight faces. For the specific part file created from Parasolid part file (*.x_t), if the Extract Machinable Features command is executed using AFR method, then it automatically recognizes the features. However, if the same command is executed using the default MfgView method, then and SOLIDWORKS crash. 5 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 42. CW Toolpath 43. CW License If Turn Rough or Turn Finish operation is listed after a Bore Finish operation in the operation sequence, then the userdefined Z limit is not considered by the toolpath. The resultant toolpath machines entire WIP. On a floating network license installation, the number of days for which a floating license can be borrowed by a client is currently limited to 7 days. The borrow period should be enhanced to 30 days for all future Floating Network licenses that will be issued. 44. CW CW VoluMill In Assembly environment the Volumill toolpath generated for any 2.5 axis feature does not avoid the Fixture Components set by the user. 45. CW Toolpath 46. CW System 47. CW Rebuild 48. CW Toolpath 49. CW Features 50. CW Operation 51. CW System 52. CW TechDB For Turn Bore Rough and Finish toolpaths, when user change the Axial (Z) value the toolpath, then the toolpath also gets offset in the X and Z direction. This issue is observed when the Auto option for Approach and Retract Strategy is enabled in the NC tab of the operation. Specific Mill-Turn parts created in 2012, with stock defined from an STL file, cause to crash when opened in 2014 or 2015 version. This issue is not observed if the stock is converted to a bounding cylinder and then opened in 2014/2015. For the specific Mill part, the Full Rebuild command updates the features but not the toolpaths for the corresponding Hole operation. For the specific Mill part, the toolpath for the Contour Mill operation cannot be generated if the tool used has a diameter of more than 6mm. For the specific Mill part, when "Extract Machinable Features" is executed using "MfgView" method then, the pocket feature gets incorrectly recognized as slot feature. The leadout moves in a Contour Mill toolpath generated for curve features don t follow the user defined feed rates. Instead the XY feed rate is assigned for the leadout moves. Installing 2014 SP 2.3 on SOLIDWORKS 2014 SP 4.0 causes SOLIDWORKS to crash. In the TechDB, add a new strategy of "3Axis Undercut" for Multi Surface Features. 6 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 53. CW Operation 54. CW Operation 55. CW Toolpath 56. CW US Toolpath For the Contour mill operation generated for a Hole Group, the Diameter override option is used and a specific diameter value is assigned. The resultant toolpath is generated correctly only for one of the holes. For Mill parts, when "Tool crib priority" is set to ON, then the drill tools selected for drill operations are not of proper sizes. In the specific Mill part, for Irregular pocket feature recognized by automatic feature recognition the generated Contour Mill Toolpath is at incorrect Z Level. For specific part s Contour Mill toolpath with Arc leadin and lead out, the toolpath generated gouges the part. To avoid gouge, when the Gouge check option is enabled, an error message indicating inability to compute safe leadin or leadout moves is displayed. 57. CW Toolpath 58. CW US Tool 59. CW Toolpath 60. CW Features 61. CW Features 62. CW Wire-EDM 63. CW Wire-EDM 64. CW Toolpath 65. CW License For the specific Mill part, if the start segment of the curve feature is an arc, then for Contour Mill Toolpath generated for this curve feature, the Lead In/Out function does not work. If user tries to add Face Mill tool to the Tool crib from the Tool Library, then crashes. In 2014, for the specific part, the OD Rough Turn generates the wrong toolpath during retract moves when the Z limit with user defined Z end value is set in the Advanced tab. For the specific Mill part, the Contour Mill Toolpath generated for the slot feature recognized using Automatic Feature Recognition gouges the part. For specific Turn part, the OD profile is generated at an incorrect location and the groove feature is not recognized. In 2015, the cutter compensation given for a skim pass of glue stop defined for 4 axis Punch feature is in the wrong direction. In 2014 SP2.3, for 4 Axis Contour Die, when user performs more than 2 skims, the NC code does not include the sub-program from third skim onwards. When using the Bottom Finish option on a Contour Mill operation, the Bottom First option doesn t work if the feature is defined with an island with a top chamfer. On floating license network, client with Windows 8.1 OS is unable to return the borrowed license back to the Server which has Windows 7 OS. 7 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 66. CW Features For the specific Mill part, the obround pocket recognized by AFR has chamfers on the top and bottom of the through pocket. The resultant Rough Mill toolpath based on the feature boundary defined by the outer edge of the lower chamfer gouges the part. 67. CW Toolpath 68. CW Help 69. CW Wire-EDM For the specific part, when user uses the Copy Features (with Operations) function to copy a feature to another Setup, the resultant toolpaths of the copied operations do not match the toolpaths of the original feature. For user-defined holder defined from an STL file, the Hand of cut direction from Left to Right or Vice versa. User has to define two different user-defined holders for Left and Right Hand of cut. This information is not available in the Help file. For specific Wire EDM part, when the Two Steps option in Glue Stop setting is applied for a 4 Axis die feature then, the upper profile generated by the Toolpath is incorrect. 70. CW Assembly 71. CW Features 72. CW Toolpath 73. CW System 74. CW Operation 75. CW TechDB 76. CW Rebuild For the specific Assembly, the hole feature being recognized by is not in the correct location, thus resulting in toolpath gouging the part. For the specific part, the Part Perimeter feature inserted from a particular setup doesn't follow the part profile correctly, resulting in an incorrect toolpath. The same feature in another Setup works correctly. For the specific Turn part, the WIP generated by a turn operation does not correspond with the toolpath. When switching machine types from Mill to Mill/Turn, there is no message indicating that any existing data may be lost. For the specific Assembly, the user is unable to Save the Operation plan for Multi Step Hole Feature. In the tap threading operation, the 'Hand of Cut' is not controlled through the English TechDB Tap Database tool list. It is always in 'Right Hand'. This issue is also observed in German TechDB. For the specific Wire EDM part, user changes the dimensions of one of the extrude features of the solid model and then performs a Full rebuild. A warning symbol appears over the features listed in the feature tree in spite of the features being correctly rebuilt. 8 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 77. CW US Toolpath 78. CW TechDB 79. CW System 80. CW API 81. CW US Assembly 82. CW US TechDB 83. CW Toolpath 84. CW Operation 85. CW Toolpath 86. CW Assembly For specific Mill part, the cutting direction of the Contour Mill Toolpath changes when it is copied and regenerated without changing any parameters. Default TechDB Hole Thread Mapping has incorrect thread designation for Thread Milling method for Inch Units system. Users are unable to utilize the Help option to check for Service Pack updates. When they click on the Check button, they receive the error message that they are unable to connect to the Service Pack Server - even though there is an internet connection. When user runs macro ICWSetup.AddIslandToFeature, it does not return the correct Boolean value. In Assembly mode, when the Origin of the Setup is changed to Part Setup Origin, the Work Coordinate system is not displayed for the Assembly Setup. Word "TEST" present in the comment on insert page of the turn tooling in TechDB should be removed. For the specific part, the avoid area defined for Contour Mill Toolpath generated for part perimeter feature is not considered. Toolpath is generated within the avoid area boundaries. For the specific part, the Leadin point for Contour Mill operation generated for part perimeter feature cannot be moved to a different point. However, it can be moved if the feature type is a Boss feature. For the specific Mill part, the Contour Mill toolpath for the Part Perimeter feature gouges the part when the Arc Fit option in Advanced tab of Operation Parameters is applied. For the specific Assembly, the Contain Area is defined from multiple surfaces with Tool on Curve option. On regenerating the toolpath, crashes. 87. CW US UI 88. CW US UI 89. CW Wire-EDM The mouse buttons used to rotate the tool in the tool preview window of should be made consistent with SOLIDWORKS/ Solids. The Arrow buttons of the New Operation window need to be made larger. Also, the mouse-over labels need to be placed either above, below or on the buttons. Error observed in Leadin/ Leadout moves with Start point when multiple Glue Stops are used. 9 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 90. CW Wire-EDM 91. CW Wire-EDM 92. CW Rebuild 93. CW Toolpath 94. CW Post 95. CW Toolpath 96. CW Operation 97. CW CW VoluMill Operation 99. CW Toolpath 100. CW Simulation In Wire EDM, for the specific part, the 2 Axis Contour toolpath was generated for the boss feature. Toolpath Simulation is correct but posted G code shows the wrong movement which is also visible by the G-Code Simulator. In Wire-EDM mode, if Leadin/Out types are set to Select point and Point Blend, then the stop on contour for Rough Cut is ignored. This happens even when the Begin all cuts at start hole option is set to OFF. For the specific part, the 1 0 Taper on the sidewall of its islands is not retained after performing a Rebuild. Also, if user assigns taper to any feature, it is not reflected on the displayed part in the graphics area until user navigates out of the page of the dialog box. In contour mill when toolpath center is set to "Without Compensation" and "Display cutter compensation for first move" is set to ON then, only the lead in move is shown with compensation and not the leadout move. For each feature, the name of the Strategy assigned should be passed on to the Post environment so as to allow usage in the post. The toolpath for a Turn Cut-Off operation does not get extended to the part center thereby forcing the user to override the toolpath by adding a value to the End Length parameter. This action causes unwanted rapid moves. For the specific part, Rest Machining with Contour Mill toolpath creates duplicate passes for each Z pass. The Avoid and Contain areas defined for a 3 Axis Area Clearance operation with pattern type set to Volumill are not considered. The toolpath is generated in all the areas of the part. In the Tool Crib tab of Machine Definition, when any Tool comment is edited and saved to the Tool Library, then it is not saved to the TechDB and Tool Crib. For the specific Mill Part s 2.5 Axis Irregular Pocket feature, the Rough Mill 'Pocket out' pattern operation generates an incomplete toolpath with 40% or above stepover. When simulation is being done with operations as the stop point then, the while changing from one operation to the succeeding operation, the tool used gets disappeared from the home position. It works fine if the "End" is selected as stop point. 10 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 101. CW Operation In tool crib the user is not allowed to set the Station No to '0'. Users utilize this station to store tools CW Post 103. CW Toolpath 104. CW Simulation 105. CW Toolpath The posted output for the rough groove operation generated for face groove is incorrect. For the specific nested assembly, extra feed move in the 2.5 Axis Rough Mill Operation gouges neighboring part instances. For the specific Mill part, Toolpath simulation displays gouged geometry even though there is no gouging. Settings with respect to VBScript files need to be updated so that they work with the latest version of. For the specific Turn part, when stock is defined from a sketch, the Turn Tool rapids through the material between feature segments. For the specific part, Automatic Feature Recognition using MfgView incorrectly recognizes the Pocket feature with chamfer on top. This results in toolpath gouging the part. For the specific assembly, the direction of the Open Profile feature changes in the Preview window when user edits the Open Profile feature. For the specific part with multiple islands which have pockets within it, the roughing toolpath gouges the inside of the islands. For the specific part, the start point for the Canned Cycles of Turn Operation is incorrect. For the specific part, when the sketch defining the part dimensions is modified and Full Rebuild is done, the toolpaths are modified correctly but the feature position remains unchanged. For the specific mill part, the Contour Mill operation gouges the toolpath when the tool diameter is modified. For the specific turn part where the stock has been defined using a sketch, the user defined Z End Limits fail to restrict the toolpath to the user defined point. For the specific Assembly, when user switches between Configurations, a New Operation dialog box keeps popping up at every instance of switching. For the specific part when user assigns a step out amount to the Turn Rough toolpath on a OD feature, the resultant toolpath gouges the part. 11 P a g e

CW Toolpath 126. CW Toolpath 127. CW Toolpath 128. CW Features The H and D offset values of Mill tools are not shown correctly in the Setup Sheet under the circumstances where the tools get added to the active tool crib upon doing a Generate Operation Plan. This also happens when the user adds the tools to the active Tool Crib interactively. Create an API to control the start point of the hole features. The API thus created should work in both Part mode and Assembly mode. After updating specific MS Access updates, the applications fails to run as an Add-In within SOLIDWORKS. For the specific Mill part, the toolpaths generated for the Rectangular Slot feature recognized by AFR is incorrect. The toolpaths generated are correct only if the feature is inserted interactively. In Mill module, if the stock defined through bounding box is given with some Offset values then, the Rough passes for a Contour Mill toolpath defined using side parameter settings will not be generated. In Wire EDM parts the option of "Stop On Contour" doesn t make any impact on toolpaths generated for die features with the option of "Land and Taper" set to ON. Instead the generated toolpath gouges the part. For the specific Assembly, for the Contour mill operation on a Wrapped feature, doesn t allow the user to modify the start point of the Leadin/Leadout move. API for defining a Multisurface feature based on Face color. It should also work for multi-body part. The thickness defined for the User Defined Turn inserts in TechDB is not observed in the operation parameters. Instead a default value is set for all the User Defined Turn Inserts. For the specific Turn part, the profile of the OD feature inserted interactively is incorrect. It uses convex profile instead of Concave profile. For the specific Mill part, extra Z move is generated when using Ramp method for the Contour Mill Operation. While performing Cut off operation for parts having internal diameter, the toolpath should extend to the center of the part in case the internal features are not machined. For the specific Mill part, the Part Perimeter feature under a particular Setup is not recognized. 12 P a g e

CW Operation When applying the Round external corners option in a Contour Mill operation, the corner rounding gets applied to internal corners too. When specific user with Educational License installs 2014 on a Windows 8.1 machine, loading within SOLIDWORKS 2013 as an Add-In causes SOLIDWORKS to crash. The ability to change the spline deviation for Contour Mill operations machining the Engrave Feature is disabled. It should be enabled so that the user can change the spline deviation for the respective operations. While creating a user-defined Mill Holder, the entities created in negative Y space are not considered. When using the Copy Setting utility, if the user enters a file-name contains a period (.), then the actual saved file name is truncated to that description preceding the period and the text after the period becomes the file extension which is incorrect. The utility should allow the use of period in file names while retaining correct file extension. Though the Tool material data for Feeds/Speeds in the TechDB is updated for new materials, these new materials are not visible any of the drop down boxes for Tool material section. On a floating network, when two sessions of are opened on the same client machine, then 2 licenses are borrowed from the server. Ideally, only one license of should be borrowed. In Turn and Mill-Turn modes, when stock is defined from an STL file for specific parts, the display of the stock doesn t correspond to the actual STL file. The Turn WIP is not generated for Turn Finish or Bore Finish operation if the cut type is set to "Diameter and Length". When a Tool Assembly is selected for Tapping operation in Tapping-Cutting Taps for Mill, then TechDB displays an error messages indicating Type Mismatch and Out of Memory. For the specific Mill part the Area Clearance operation having WIP set to the preceding Area Clearance is regenerated individually then, it doesn t consider the WIP generated by the earlier Area Clearance operation. The toolpath is generated for the entire part. 13 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 140. CW UI In turn and Mill-Turn mode, Turn Setup definition option for reversing the Z direction is not updating the part display until the user selects OK 141. CW Toolpath 142. CW Features 143. CW TechDB 144. CW Toolpath 145. CW TechDB 146. CW Toolpath 147. CW TechDB 148. CW Toolpath 149. CW Toolpath 150. CW Post The canned cycles created for Turn Rough toolpaths for features having a face segment include a rapid move which is erroneous. For the specific part, crashes when user executes the Extract Machinable Features command using MfgView method. No crash is seen when the AFR method is employed. User with customized German TechDB is not able to define a Constant Depth for a Center Drill Operation. If user overwrites the machining depth manually and tries to save the Operation Plan by overwrite the existing feature condition, then crashes. For the specific part, the Contour Mill Operation with Rest Machining options set to previous tool doesn t generate the toolpath when the Side allowance is set to a value less than 0.04 or below. The window displayed within TechDB to add tools to the Tool crib cannot be expanded. It is very tedious for the user to constantly use scroll bars in both directions to keep track of what they are working on. For the specific part in the Contour Mill Operation when link between passes is set to stay down then, the tool path will machine the entire feature even though corner machining is set to ON. In TechDB, for the default operation parameter of the thread milling, the CNC compensation should be set to "ON" as default. For the specific part, fails to generate toolpath for the pocket feature recognized by AFR. If the pocket feature is interactively inserted by defining it from a sketch, the quality of the resultant Roughing toolpath is poor and it leaves an island in the center. For the specific part where features are defined using splines, generate toolpaths only for the inner profile (island) and not for the other features. For the specific Assembly, takes up to 3 hours to post process and generate the NC code. 14 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 151. CW Toolpath For the specific part, the Arc Leadin move is not considered in the toolpath generated for the Contour Mill Operation with Rest Machining options set to Previous Tool CW System 153. CW Configuration 154. CW TechDB UI 155. CW Translation 156. CW Toolpath 157. CW Features 158. CW Toolpath 159. CW Post 160. CW Toolpath When user runs the Feature Finder for the specific part, it causes to crash. For the specific Assembly, when the user switches between Configurations, then the Feature Manager tree is greyed out. It becomes active when the user toggles between SOLIDWORKS Feature tree and Feature tree. In the default TechDB Forms, the Navigation tree and linking of common controls pose a problem to some users. A simplified and basic TechDBForms (*mde) needs to be provided in all supported languages to address this issue. In German TechDB, the label for the Feature Type of Generic Groove OD is incorrect. For the specific part having linear-patterned boss features, the lead in points on the grouped boss feature are not at the same location. For the specific part, the Pocket feature recognized by AFR is incorrect. For the specific Mill Part, the Rough Mill toolpath with spiral entry generated for an irregular pocket feature with island rapids directly on the stock instead of entering with defined spiral entry or plunge move. Ability to have the post QUERY command retrieve information from post whether the user has applied a Pattern command on a particular operation/feature. In Rough Mill operation with spiral entry move defined, if the spiral radius happens to be too large to be fitted within the feature then, the tool makes a rapid move to the next Z level. This move would damage the tool and the part. 15 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 2015 SP CW UI 2. CW System 3. CW License 4. CW System 5. CW TechDB 6. CW Toolpath 7. CW Operation 8. CW Support In the Italian version of 2015 Beta version, in the UI displayed for interactively inserting a Multi Surface Feature, the icons for the Face Select Option are overlapping and the selection menu is unstable. While installing 2015 SP0, user encounters an error message which states that the supported version of SOLIDWORKS or Solids was not found installed. This error message is displayed despite supported version of SOLIDWORKS and Solids having been installed. The installation however gets completed successfully. The license borrowed on the client machine for one or more modules of fails to initialize when it is disconnected from the network. Instead, starts in Demonstration mode. If user installs 2015 SP0 on a system with SOLIDWORKS 2015 on which no version was previously installed, then fails to generate toolpaths for any part. In Mill machines with rotary axis, the mode for rotary axis should be set to 'Fixed' for all features except wrapped features. Currently this is being controlled by the settings made in TechDB and the user cannot change them in. For the specific part, toolpaths were generated successfully in 2014 version. In the 2015 Beta version, the application crashes when user tries to generate the same toolpaths. In 2014 SP 2.3 and 2015 SP0, when user tries to save the operation plan of Face Feature for the specific part, it causes SOLIDWORKS to crash. Users are unable to utilize the Help option to check for Service Pack updates. When they click on the Check button, they receive the error message that they are unable to connect to the Service Pack Server - even though there is an internet connection. 16 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 2015 SP0 1. CW SP Operation 2. CW SP Wire EDM 3. CW SP Wire EDM Post In German mode of 2015 EV version, for the specific Mill-Turn part, if user tries to edit the OD Thread operation or Turn Thread operation defined for an interactively inserted OD feature, then crashes. This issue was not observed in On AGIEVISION-5 machines, when the Wire material is changed in the EDM Settings menu and saved, crashes. On AGIE machines, the posted Z values are incorrect. 4. CW SP Post 5. CW SP Post 6. CW SP UI 7. CW SP System Post Variable OPR_DRILL_CYCLE_TYPE is not being set correctly in Front turret Mill-Turn posts for Face FREE operations. For a turn operation, if the user inserts a new feed rate by editing the tool path, then upon posting the newly added feed rate is not reflected in the posted output. This was working correctly in In the Japanese language version of, for Threading operations in Turn mode, the order of the two options displayed in the Program point dropdown list in Thread tab is reverse to the order displayed in the English version of. For the specific multiaxis mill part file with Flowline pattern operation, when user generates the toolpath, it takes an excessive amount of time. If user cancels the generation and saves the part model, SOLIDWORKS crashes. 17 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 8. CW SP Post 9. CW SP Rebuild 10. CW SP Simulation The post variable TOOL_PROTRUSION posts values only for Mill operations but not for Turn operations. In 2014, the yellow exclamation mark displayed on the feature which is not in sync with the SOLIDWORKS part is not removed even after the user manually doing a full rebuild and the feature is also not updated as per the SOLIDWORKS part. This behavior is seen with MS Hole features. For the specific Mill part with 3 Axis Pattern machining toolpath, the toolpath gouges the part. 11. CW SP Rebuild 12. CW SP0 US Features 13. CW SP Post 14. CW PR API For the specific Wire EDM part for which features and operations have been generated, if the dimension of one of the sketches is updated and Full Rebuild subsequently done, the yellow exclamation mark is still visible over the feature icons indicating that the feature is out of sync with the part model. While interactively inserting an open profile feature, the direction of cut specified by the user is not assigned to the feature for the first time. The user will have to edit the feature again and reassign the direction of cut. Only then the user assigned direction of cut is applied to the feature. For the specific Mill-Turn part, the posted NC code for the Pattern type toolpaths of Wrapped Open Profile feature outputs wrong Angular values between instances. When executing the API macro "Post_Setup_Name_Full_Name.swp", if a post operation is the first operation in the mill part setup then, upon executing the command 'setup.postprocess', the output file generated is empty. 18 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 15. CW SP0 US Toolpath For a VoluMill Roughing toolpath, if an Avoid area is defined using a sketch then, is not considered for avoidance in the generated toolpath. 16. CW PR2 US UI 17. CW SP0 US UI 18. CW PR Post 19. CW PR1 US TechDB 20. CW Beta 2 US UI 21. CW SP Operation 22. CW SP0 API For a turn part, when the stock type is changed to bar stock from the SOLIDWORKS part type, then the stock display is reset to wireframe in the display area. Also, if the stock type is again reset to SOLIDWORKS part and the current part is selected for stock, the available configuration list becomes empty. For defining the X Axis machining direction, an entity can be selected. However, after closing the dialog box and reopening, the entity that was selected does not get highlighted in the graphics area. Due to this, user cannot recognize which entity he has selected earlier. For Turn operations, the Post variable TOOL_CORNER_RADIUS is getting populated with Turn Drill and Center Drill Diameter values. When the TechDB is opened, the About button in the menu area is only partially visible. In Mill mode, for the Tool crib tab of the Machine node dialog, the Tool and Tool Holder Preview Window is shown when user selects a tool. Part of the tool geometry gets hidden when the user rotates the Tool model within the Preview Window. In Turn mode for any turn operation, if user replaces the existing turn tool with a duplicate of itself then, SOLIDWORKS crashes. Add new APIs which would let the user know, if a feature has failed during the rebuild routine and whether tool paths can be generated for the operations in operation tree. 19 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 23. CW PR Rebuild 24 CW CW SP Setup Sheets 25. CW PR Help 26. CW CW SP Features 27. CW PR Toolpath 28. CW SP Simulation 29. CW PR Features 30 CW PR Feature For the specific Assembly file, the Mill Part Setup along with features and operations get rebuilt correctly when the plane used to define the mill part setup is changed. However the Avoid and Contain areas do not get rebuilt properly if defined using sketches created on the same plane. The parameter of "Define Coolant by Tool" is not present in the Access based Setup Sheet or XML based Setup Sheet. In the Help documentation for TechDB, there is no documentation provided on how to delete Tool Cribs within the TechDB. When 'Extract Machinable Features' is done in assembly mode, then the hole thread call outs for features having threads are not recognized. Instead the hole feature with thread is recognized as a simple hole feature. For the specific Turn part with OD feature, the Roughing Toolpath gouges the stock when Final Cut Amount is set as 0 mm. Contour Milling Toolpaths with helical moves are not being simulated correctly in 2014 version. If a part created in 2013 containing multiple circular pockets with tapers is opened in 2014, the user is prompted for rebuild. Even after selecting "Light" rebuild, the earlier defined circular pockets get deleted. Also, the user will not be able to define the same features again by choosing multiple in 2.5 axis feature wizard. For a turn part, when the Extract Machinable Features is executed, then, small segments with a radius of mm or lesser are not recognized as part of OD or Face features. However while interactively inserting the features; the segments can be selected as part of the feature. 20 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 31. CW SP Toolpath For the specific Turn part, the ID Bore Rough toolpath gouges the part when it is generated using the Variable Allowance option enabled (with Radial and Axial allowance having different values). Toolpath is correct if Radial and Axial allowance values are equal. 32. CW PR System 33. CW PR Features For the specific Mill-Turn part, the data is not getting restored when the part is opened in 2014 or In 2014 SP2, the Face feature recognized using Automatic Feature Recognition (AFR) in Turn module includes the undercut features available on the part, which is incorrect. This was working correctly in CW CW SP Support The address given on the Enhancement Request Form needs to be corrected to support@camworks.com. 35. CW SP0 Toolpath For the specific pat, the Leadin and Leadout for Contour Mill Operation is defined at the center of the segment. However, the toolpath generated is not as per the assigned Leadin and Leadout values. 36. CW PR2 Beta2015 UI In the Operation Parameters dialog box, on the Lead In/Out tab, when the Leadout type is selected as Same as Leadin, then the preview panel does not display updated images to correspond with the image for Leadin type. 37. CW PR2 UI The icon provided for New Feature command does not visually correspond to other icons on the Command Manager. The icon needs to be modified in order to visually sync it with other icons. 21 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 38. CW Beta CW Beta CW CW CW CW CW Beta CW PR1 43. CW PR1 44. CW PR1 45. CW Operation Rebuild Beta 2 Beta2015 Configuration Feature Toolpath System Toolpath Toolpath For Multiaxis operations, if parameters are modified on the Gouge Checking tab of the Operations Parameters dialog box, then doesn t prompt a Toolpath Regeneration message on closing the dialog box. For a Mill Part setup, the direction of the X axis is defined from a sketch entity. If this sketch entity is edited, then the X axis direction is updated only on Full Rebuild. It should also be updated if Light Rebuild option is chosen. In 2015 Beta1, for Mill Parts, when stock is defined by using another configuration of the part being machined, then SOLIDWORKS crashes. This is not observed is Turn module. Whenever a Hole group feature defined using a sketch is deleted and restored, then the hole features are restored as individual features. Upon doing edit definition of such restored features, only a single hole feature is displayed in the graphics area although the selected entities list shows the name of the sketch used to define the group feature. If a corner round tool is used to machine the top fillet of a feature and the output through option is set to 'Tip', then the resultant toolpath gouges the feature. The gouge is not seen when the output option is set as 'Tangent'. Configurations are not supported for 2.5X Limited License module type. It should be supported for this License module also. For the specific Mill part, the VoluMill roughing operation ignores islands created using sketches. In 2015 Beta, for the specific part, the VoluMill toolpath generated for the Roughing operation gouges 3 circular islands. 22 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 46. CW Beta CW PR2 48. CW Beta CW Beta CW PR2 51. CW Beta 2 Feature UI UI Operation UI Assembly 52. CW Beta Toolpath While interactively inserting a 2.5 Axis Mill feature with islands, when user attempts to define Side Taper for the Island Entities, the error message An unsupported operation was attempted is displayed and the 2.5 Axis Feature Wizard dialog box closes. While interactively inserting a 2.5 Axis feature, the End condition is reset to default values if the user proceeds to the next dialog in the Wizard and then returns back to the end condition dialog box. In Turn mode, in the Tool Crib tab of the Machine node dialog, if user changes any parameters but clicks the Cancel button instead of OK button, then none of the changes should be retained. But changes to Holder Orientation parameters are being retained. While creating a new turn operation, the user can select tools from the new operation user interface. The available tool list doesn t get updated when the user changes the operation type by using the Back button. In the Tool Preview window displayed when user selects a Tool in the Tool crib tab of Machine node, the mouse controls provided for zoom, pan and rotate are not identical to those of SOLIDWORKS. This creates confusion. For the specific assembly file, when user edits the machine definition, displays an error message Rotary and Tilt axis cannot be parallel even though these axis are not parallel. This error message was not observed in 2014 version. For the specific 2.5 Axis Mill Part the Rough Mill toolpath generated with a stepover of 40% or above and with pattern of pocket out, does not machine the feature completely. 23 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 53. CW PR Operation 54. CW Beta 2 Operation 55. CW Beta UI For Engrave operations, Spline Deviations defined at global level gets applied. The ability to override this global value by defining Spline Deviation at operation level is disabled. In specific cases, it can lead to the engrave toolpath to be broken into too many segments. In 2015, the time required to generate operations using the Generate Operation Plan command has more than doubled compared to For Contour Mill operation, if any of the ramp options are used then, in the Lead In/Out tab, options for linking side passes and cut depth should be disabled. They were disabled in 2012 but remain enabled in 2014, thereby resulting in wrong toolpath. 56. CW SP Assembly 57. CW PR Operation 58. CW SP Help In assembly mode, if the origin of the Mill par Setup is set as Top Center and a Coordinate System is selected in the Machine Definition, then for operations listed under the Mill Part Setup, the min and Max values of X should ideally be with respect to the Top Center of the Mill Part Setup. Instead, these values are derived based on the Coordinate System in Machine Definition. If user switches to an alternate Tool Crib after a part has been programmed and selects the Prompt option, then displays a dialog to assign tools to the operations from the new tool crib. However, no tools are listed to choose from. In the Help file for Turn module, it needs to be mentioned that if the User Defined Turn Insert being created is meant for ID operations, then the orientation of the insert sketch must be drawn as if the insert were mounted in a holder in the left up orientation. Absence of this information creates confusion among users. 24 P a g e

RESOLVED s DOCUMENT 59. CW SP Toolpath 60. CW Beta Post 61. CW PR Features 62. CW Beta Features 63. CW PR Features 64. CW PR Feature For Mill parts having taper features needing external threading, the toolpath passes of the thread milling cut the feature in the reverse method i.e. the resultant toolpath cuts the final pass of the thread in the beginning. This behavior is not seen with thread milling done for features having no taper. When a multi axis mill operation with number of axis set to 3, is post processed, the values of clearance plane do not get posted correctly. The user defined values for clearance plane are not considered. In mill parts, when Extract Machinable Features is done the pockets with chamfer on top are detected as tapered feature. The taper angle is shown as 90 degrees. However, the user will not be able to use the option of 'Toolpath center with or without compensation' for such features. But the option will be available for interactively inserted features. When chamfer is present on a Mill part s edges, then the Automatic Feature Recognition doesn't recognize the face feature. For the specific part, when user tries to generate Turn features using Automatic Feature Recognition with Revolved Section option, the features generated using a Mill-Turn machine and Turn machine are different. Results in both cases are unsatisfactory. For the specific Turn part, in the Options- Features tab, if the default option is set to Revolved Section and AFR is executed, then one of the two groove features present are recognized. 65. CW PR Feature User is unable to properly select a point for the Leadin/out of Contour Mill operations defined for Part Perimeter (boss) features. 25 P a g e
