4 Axon Commander v Software Versions These release notes corresponding to the following versions of software: Axon Commander v Axon Camera Extractor v1.10 Note: The release notes were updated in November 2018 with two additional resolved issues. Those issues are marked with in the issue title. New Functionality The following new features and capabilities have been added to this release of Axon Commander: Evidence.com Destinations The Destinations function within Axon Commander is a versatile tool used to send assets to another Axon Commander instance or Network Attached Storage (NAS). In this release, we have added Evidence.com as a possible Destination location. This provides users with a migration path from Axon Commander to Evidence.com or can be a mechanism to provide continual uploads to Evidence.com for centralized or archival storage. This feature provides the ability to view and manage the asset locally until they are uploaded, offering an improved workflow for situations where upload bandwidth is limited. When assets are uploaded to Evidence.com, any metadata assigned in Axon Commander and the audit trail are included with the asset. If the owner of the asset in Axon Commander Axon Enterprise, Inc. 5 is also a member of the Evidence.com account, that user is assigned as the owner in Evidence.com when the upload is complete. Device Audit Logs When any action is performed on an Axon body worn camera, that action is logged in the device memory. These actions range from turning the camera on to changing device settings. In this release, the device audit trails are offloaded from the Axon cameras and made available in the Reports section of Axon Commander Administration. Generating a Device Report from the audit trails is accomplished the same way as generating a System Report for Axon Commander. Axon Enterprise, Inc. Page 5 of 9

6 Encryption-At-Rest Commander now offers support for Encryption-at-Rest, encrypting the video files within the camera, for agencies that require this functionality. When enabled, this capability will prevent Axon body worn camera video from being downloaded to unauthorized Axon Commander or Evidence.com instances. This will greatly increase the overall security of the Axon Commander and body worn camera solution, with some trade-offs. Refer to the Axon Commander Installation Manual for details on the limitations associated with enabling Encryption-at-Rest. Enhancements The following enhancements were made to current features or functionality in Axon Commander. Destinations In this release of Axon Commander, we have improved the Destinations feature by adding several new capabilities. Transfer Status Within the Evidence View in the Axon Commander Client, users with the proper Role can see the status of all inbound and outbound transfers on the Commander Server to which they are currently connected. Additionally, they have the ability to change the order of any pending outbound transfers through this interface. The interface provides information, such as the name of the asset being transferred, the destination/source location, and the overall transfer progress. This information is also available when used in conjunction with Evidence.com as a destination location. Axon Enterprise, Inc. Page 6 of 9

7 Priorities Through the Associations Properties, users can assign a priority number to destination assignments. This allows agencies to not only send assets to a Commander or Evidence.com instance based on a Tag, Source, Owner, Area, or Marker, but also assign a priority to ensure bandwidth is prioritized for the most important asset transfers. Flow Control Through Axon Commander Client Administration, limitations can be placed on the maximum number of inbound and outbound Destination Transfers. This helps optimize the flow of evidence between multiple destination locations and ensure available network bandwidth is Axon Enterprise, Inc. Page 7 of 9

8 focused among a limited set of transfers. Limits can be placed on Inbound and Outbound individually, ranging from 1 to 10 concurrent transfers. Issues Resolved The following issues were resolved in this release of Axon Commander. Windows 10 Build 1803: In the most recent Windows 10 update, Microsoft made a change that impacted how virtualization works with the.net Framework and the Axon Commander Client application. To overcome this limitation, we removed the.net Framework from the virtualized bundle and now rely on Windows to have the appropriate.net version installed. For Windows 7, PCs must have.net Framework 4 (or greater) installed. The same is true for Windows 8.1 and Windows 10, which install the.net Framework 4 by default. Flex 2 with USB Offload: In previous versions of Axon Commander, Flex 2 Controller serial numbers appeared on the All Devices page of Axon Commander Client as A, instead of showing their actual serial number, when using USB as the offload method. This has been resolved. Camera Firmware Updates over USB: In previous versions of Axon Commander, firmware updates for Axon body worn cameras were not being performed, despite a firmware file being provided to the Commander Server Manager. 9 Windows 10 and USB Offload: Made some improvements to how USB offload is performed, which improved the performance of video offload via USB. Localization: Some areas of the Axon Commander Client had missing or inaccurate translations. This has been addressed. DVD Burn and Convert (4.16.1): Users were unable to burn DVDs and convert videos to VMW format on export. Destination Transfers (4.16.1): Corrected a Destinations compatibility issue with older versions of Axon Commander. Axon Enterprise, Inc. Page 9 of 9
