1 Using Texidium E-Book Service 1. Go to mylambton and log in with your student account credentials. Once logged in, you will have access to your mylambton Profile. Click on the Texidium link. 2. Once you have entered Texidium, you should see your Lambton College student account name in the top-right corner and your courses in the center area. (If you do not, please contact Lambton College s I.T. Helpdesk to resolve the issue.) Note: An order for a single textbook (ie. Marketing ebook, 5 th Edition) allows you to view that book on every device you own or use! Only go through these steps once for each textbook. To view the ordered textbook on each device, follow the ereader app instructions for each device (as listed below) 1. Ensure that the drop-down is set for the term you are currently ordering textbooks for (eg. Winter 2016). Once you do so, the textbooks for your registered courses will appear in the main body of the page. Click Add to Cart on all textbooks you wish to order. 1

2 2. As you add textbooks to your cart, note that the status of your items will change to In Cart. Once you have added all items you wish to order, click the Shopping Cart button. 3. Click Check Out to process the items in your shopping cart. Note: If you wish to remove items, simply press the red trash icon beside the item. 2

3 4. Ensure all information display is correct, then click Proceed With Order. 5. You will see a loading page up for 30 seconds as your order is processed. Once processing is finished, it is highly recommended that you yourself the receipt by clicking order receipt. 3

4 6. If you choose to the receipt, ensure the address you wish to use is in the address field and then click Send. There will be a few minutes delay before the is received in your account. 1. To order your textbooks, click the Claim your books button. Please allow up to a minute for processing. 2. On this landing screen, you need to click This is my first time using Texidium; I have never registered as this is an entrance to the browser-based Reader and a separate component from the ordering page. 4

5 3. Follow the account creation instructions on the screen and click Register. Note: Please use a personal address for this Personal Texidium Account! Otherwise, you will lose access to your books once you lose your mylambton account, while you are meant to have access to the books for a few years time regardless of whether you are still with Lambton College. Also, be sure you have access to the address you enter! If you do not enter it correctly or use an you do not control, you will not be able to access your Personal Texidium Account! If you have entered an incorrect address, please contact Lambton College Helpdesk and we will refer the problem to Texidium for correction. 5

6 4. After a few moments, the ereader component should appear in your browser. To start reading your books, use the arrows to select the one you wish to open. 5. Use the contents button to open the book s table of contents to start accessing parts of your book. To exit, click on the Home button. 6. When you wish to leave the ereader, click on the arrow next to your name and Sign Out. 6

7 7. Please ensure you sign out of the ordering page and mylambton, as well. Note: If you have already claimed your book for a course, you can view this book on multiple devices! Just use the account you created for the Library / Reader / Personal Texidium Account on every device s ereader app and they will appear on the opening screen. See the ereader app instructions for each device below on details for obtaining and using your books on that platform. You don t need to re-order the book for your Android phone and ipad and PC! 7

8 Addendum: The ereader App While the process of ordering your materials requires these same steps on the Web browser on every device, the process of reading these materials after you ve ordered them can be eased by using the Texidium ereader App. You must still create your ereader account first using the steps above, but the process of installing the app and syncing to your orders varies somewhat depending on device. 1. Go to the home screen and tap on the App Store. 2. Search for Texidium in the search bar. When the suggestion for Texidium comes up, tap on it. 8

9 3. On the results screen, tap the app result with the large T, the Texidium logo from Texidium Solutions Inc. 4. On the following screen, tap the GET and INSTALL buttons to install for the first time. 9

10 Note: If you have not already done so, you will need to log in to the App Store using your Apple ID to complete the installation. However, this is a free app and you will not be charged for downloading it, apart from any data use d on a non- Wi-Fi connection. 5. Once installed, you can open the app from the App Store or from the home screen on your ios device. 6. Use your and password to log into the app. Note: You cannot create a new account from the app level; you must do so from the browser when you complete your first order and are moved to the browser version of the Reader. 10

11 7. When you first use the app, or when you first start it after ordering a new textbook, you must sync the book to your device. Simply tap the black-and-white book cover to start the sync process. 8. To start reading a book, tap on its cover image. 11

12 9. To exit the reader, tap the Home icon and then open the menu with the option. Tap Settings and then Sign Out. 12

13 1. Go to the home screen of your device and tap on the Google Play Store icon. 2. Enter the word Texidium in the text box, then follow the suggestion that pops up. 3. Tap the Texidium app result. 13

14 4. Tap the Install button and accept the permissions prompt. 5. Once the app has finished installing, either tap the Open button or find it s icon on the home screen and tap it. 14

15 6. Use your and password to log in to the app. 15

16 7. You must sync books to your device before you can view them. If the book s cover appears darkened with a cloud icon over it, tap that cover to download the data to your device to begin reading. 16

17 8. Once you have opened the book, swipe left or right to move between sections or up and down within a section. Long-press an area to bring up the buttons. 17

18 9. To exit the reader, click the Home button on the book viewer, then the button in the top-right corner. Tap Settings, then Sign Out. 18

19 1. Go to 2. Scroll down to ereader Platform and click Read more. 3. Scroll down to the Download our ereader app section and click on the Download for Windows Desktop button. 4. Click on the [Download] button for Texidium ereader for Windows. Save the file to a directory of your choice and double-click the file named something like Texidium-win msi. 19

20 5. Follow the prompts and install the program (allow it to install if you get prompted Yes/No). 6. Go to the Start Menu, find the Texidium ereader program group and click on the Texidium ereader icon. 20

21 7. Use your and password to log in to the app. 21

22 8. You must sync books to your device before you can view them. If the book s cover appears darkened with a cloud icon over it, double-click that cover to download the data to your device to begin reading. 9. Double-click the book s cover to begin reading. In order to access the table of contents for navigation, click the button just before the Home one. 22
