Configurator Schletter Configurator FixGrid100 Instruction Manual In the following, we provide information on the use of the Schletter Configurator for our tilted solar mounting system FixGrid100 for flat roofs with German general technical approval. This instruction manual has been created to help you use our Configurator in the most efficient way for your projects. You can start the program from your desktop or from the windows start menu. TABLE OF CONTENTS PAGE 1. Login 2 2. Selecting the mounting system and setting preferences 3 3. Starting the configuration of the FixGrid100 system 4 4. Selecting the reliability class 7 5. Building data input 8 6. Configuration 8 7. Roof layout Completing the project FAQ 14
Configurator 1. Login After successful installation, the Configurator will automatically be filed on your computer in "All programs in the folder Schletter GmbH. By double click you can open the program there, and the logon screen will be displayed. Please enter your login data when using the calculator for the first time. Tick the check mark "Save login data so that the data will be saved. There is a gear wheel icon at the bottom left. When you click this icon, you will get to the firewall and proxy settings as well as the login to the Schletter webshop. However, you only have to login into the webshop if you want to order the BOM (bill of materials / parts list) created in the course of the configuration directly in our webshop. When all settings are made, you can start the Configurator with the "OK" button. Problems when starting the program? At the IP address in the locally used firewall, the port 80 may be blocked or may only be approved for HTML protocols. This port must support bidirectional communication (TCP). If this is the case, please contact the IT department in your company or the person in charge of the system. Find further answers and help with possible problems on our homepage under FAQ. 2 / 16
2. Selecting the mounting system and setting preferences On the start screen, you can select for which mounting system you want to carry out a configuration. Moreover, you have the possibility to set more preferences. You can also select a language there. Under "File, the following settings are available: New project (is used when a calculation has been finished) Upload the project (from your HD) Save your current calculation Save as (buffers the current project) Screenshot of the current window Create a CSV file Design report Bill of materials / parts list Under "Tools", you can open the AutoSave folder, create a DXF file and, in case of flat roofs, change from the FixGrid system to the AluGrid system. 3 / 16
Configurator You can select your system using these three buttons. Pitched roof systems Here you can find different types of roofing like tiled roofs, trapezoidal sheet metal, sandwich elements, fibre cement, bitumen roof, standing seam metal roof as well as the corresponding mounting solutions. Flat roof systems In the flat roof systems area, you can configure systems like FixGrid, AluGrid, tilted supports systems and FlatGrid. Ground mount systems When you click ground-mounted systems, you can compile our PvMax ground mount system according to your requirements. 3. Starting the configuration of the FixGrid100 system The upper tabs (Project data, Customer, etc.) are activated gradually, step by step. This happens when all the required data are entered in the previous tabs. This entry system applies to the complete Configurator. 4 / 16
Please enter the "Order number" as well as the "Project name". These data will be integrated directly in the design report. Please enter all customer data here. They will also be integrated accordingly in the design report. In order to fill in these fields, you need the technical data as well as the measurements and the weight of the modules. 5 / 16
Configurator Under "Location", the desired country can be chosen. After that, the "Postal code" and the "Height above sea level" must be entered. If the exact postal code is unknown, you can also enter e.g. "85" in the "Postal code" field. In this case, the system will show you a select list of postal codes starting with 85. You can also enter a place name instead of a postal code to get a selection of postal codes. Important: In order to get a load calculation, the height above sea level must always be entered! After that, the terrain category is selected. The respective terrain category is described in the text field below. 6 / 16
4. Selecting the reliability class There are 3 different classes: RC 1, RC 2 and RC 3. The individual reliability classes are classified according to the different influencing factors; for Germany, e.g., applies as follows: RC 1 with factor 0.9; the load is reduced RC 2 with factor 1.0; the load remains the same RC 3 with factor 1.1; the load is increased Please look up in the adjoining chart which risk factor is to be applied. Respectively refer to the chart that applies to your country in question. Important information: RC 1 applies to ground-mounted solar plants. In "Load return period, the highest load of the last 25 years or of the last 50 years can be selected. For building construction, the last 50 years are the standard and with ground mounted solar plants, the last 25 years are the standard. 7 / 16
Configurator 5. Building data input Roof length in east-west direction Roof length in north-south direction Height above top ground surface (the highest point of the building must be entered here) Roof parapet height (is only considered in the wind load calculation when it is at least 50 cm high) Important information: With a roof pitch of more than 0, the solar plant must be secured against sliding-off! 6. Configuration Under "System, you can switch from one FixGrid system to another. A module tilt of 6 or 13 can be chosen. If the roof pitch is more than 0, the solar plant is to be secured against sliding off. 8 / 16
Here, you can display the required superimposed loads in the different zones as well as the number of ballast stones required. Important information: By check marking "Fastening on the roof", the downhill slope force is subtracted. Please note: The material required for the fastening on the roof, however, is not included in the overall calculation! Zone a: yellow Zone b: blue Zone c: red Zone d: grey (Display in the schematic roof layout plan) Below that, you can see what superimposed loads are required. In the last column on the right, you can see how many modules are located in the respective ballast zone. The equivalent distributed loads are also important. They immediately show how much load is additionally put on the roof per m². The d for "design value (or also rated value) means that the partial safety factors of the actions (impacts) are already included in this value. The design moment q d thus does not have to be multiplied with any safety factor. In contrast to that, the k, as for example in q k, for the "characteristic value still has to be multiplied by the safety coefficients. In Germany, usually the factor 1.35 for permanent loads and the factor 1.50 for changing loads is used in the structural analysis. 9 / 16
Configurator Here you can choose between our Rapid clamps and the predecessor model as well as between KlickTop and the Rapid cross connectors. Please enter your Schletter customer discount here. Besides, the peak power, the net price and the price per kwp are displayed here. 10 / 16
7. Roof layout Here, the module arrangement can be adapted and disruptive / non-usable areas can be generated (simulated). With a right click into the roof area, you can open up a sub-menu. Click on "New module array" to create a new module field. After that, open a field by pulling the left mouse button from the top left to the bottom right. You can also start with disruptive / non-usable areas, by clicking "New disruptive/non-usable area". Here you can also create and enlarge a non-usable area with the left mouse button and dimension it. The dimensioning is specified in mm. The measuring is calculated from the left and from the upper roof edge. Basically, the FixGrid100 system can be arranged as far as to the roof edge. However, it must generally be taken into account that assembly fitters have to work on the roof, for example for maintenance operations, and that in many cases anchorage points (Securant) are mounted in edge zones. 11 / 16
Configurator Red rails mean that the required ballast cannot be placed here. Please always contact our technical advisers in such cases. But before, please save the current calculation and send it to us. We will then try to find a solution, for example by choosing longer rails so that the required ballast (superimposed load) can be placed. By using the button "Zoom you can enlarge the module array display in order to simplify working at it or to better place non-usable areas. At the top right, the total number of solar modules on the roof is displayed. Clicking on "Delete module array, you remove the current module field completely and you can make a new entry. Under "Partitioning" you can create a thermal separation. The distance between the module pairs (15 cm) is selected at the right side. Clicking on Edit ballast zones you can modify these zones and thus increase the ballast loading for different modules. Under Edit modules it is possible to remove modules from the current calculation. A right-click on the module array opens the editor. Here you can create disruptive / non-usable areas and arrange the modules (thermal separation). The distance between the module pairs (15 cm) is selected at the right side. 12 / 16
8. Completing the project In the "Bill of materials / parts list", positions can be added, modified and also deleted. With the "Shopping cart" button, you can place your order directly in our webshop. In the submenu "Tools you can generate a DXF-file that you can forward or use with a CAD program. 13 / 16
