5 This note provides information that will assist with the operation of Nexio G-Scribe 7.1 SP2 Hot Fix 23. Review this note for fixes and known issues in this release. NVIDIA Drivers If you are upgrading from an earlier version of 7.x it is highly recommended that you install the latest NVIDIA drivers ( for Windows XP or for Windows 7). You can install the latest NVIDIA drivers from the installation package you received with your purchase, or from the Imagine Communications support website at Please see the Optimize NVIDIA Settings document for more information regarding the recommended NVIDIA settings. Software Installation First, fully uninstall your current G-Scribe software. To install G-Scribe 7.1 SP2 HF23 make sure both the.exe and.msi install files are located in the same folder on your system. Run the install from the.exe file. The.exe will call the.msi file during the installation process. Locating Layout Images in G-Scribe 7.1 SP2 HF23 In G-Scribe, if CG is unable to find image files in the referenced location, it will search for the same files within the application s Samples subfolder. If the files are not in that location then CG will be unable to load the images. Follow these steps if CG is unable to load the image files for a template or layout. 1. With the layout loaded into CG, select File > Utilities > Verify Materials. CG performs a more thorough search for the missing image files. During this search, CG looks in and around the folders specified by the Search Order and Materials Path settings. These folders are set in the Preferences > Project dialog. 2. If the image files are not found, you can move the files to a subfolder within the Materials Path and select File > Utilities > Verify Materials again. 3. If CG is still unable to automatically find the image files, or if you do not wish to move your image files, manually edit your layout objects to reference the image files at their new locations. Note: Be sure to save your layout or update your template once the file references are corrected Imagine Communications Corp. Proprietary and Confidential. 8/13/2014 Page 5
6 RTX COM Support G-Scribe 7.1 SP2 HF23 includes RTX 2.5, which provides all RTX NET capabilities and also supports the graphics methods from RTX 1.5 based on the Component Object Model (COM). The majority of RTX COM applications will run on RTX 2.5, however not all applications will run without issue if there are hardware specific calls. Fixed Issues SP2 HF 23 Fixed Issues Typing text on a paragraph no longer reverses the second line. (FB100164) G-Scribe launches correctly after Direct Control installation. (FB101274) Switching to Sequencer while the Change Current Layout dialog box is open no longer disables keyboard functions. (FB101123) Keyboard functions work while an event has focus in Sequencer. (FB99179) The Font Face of clocks and timers can be changed. (FB102292) Events are not renumbered after group headers are applied and saved. (FB98322) Selecting Sequencer > Renumber All Render File Names no longer sets all events to 1. (FB102561) Note: If you save a playlist, and then use Sequencer > Renumber All Render File Names without reloading the playlist first, all events are set to 1. (FB102561) Increased logging quota and reduced Phoenix logging verbosity. (FB102904) Clips can be trimmed in the Store module. (FB100409) A "Save Changes in [Untitled].scribelist" dialog no longer appears when launching G-Scribe. (FB103192) SP2 HF 22 Fixed Issues RTX NET now plays G-3D scenes as expected. This addresses the issue of FX animations using different naming conventions than when linking to Organic transitions (SP2 HF6 ). (FB88578) Background persistence works properly if the background in the 2D event has scaling turned off and looping checked. This addresses the issue of LTV clips not being persistent when cutting between a Quick Edit layout and a regular (2D) layout. Previously-selected FX objects can be deselected without needing to select them again. "Export to G-3D" works properly when their are guides in the scribe. Lock functions as expected. To allow navigation to locked objects you must add the following lines to the inscribe.ini file. [Titler] NavigateOnContentLockedText=0 NavigateOnPositionLockedObject=1 SP2 HF1 Fixed Issues Transparency issues with 2D animations in external key are fixed. When LTV files stop on the last frame, inter-field movement no longer causes a jittery effect on output. 12 Known Issues G-Scribe Known Issues If you save a playlist, and then use Sequencer > Renumber All Render File Names without reloading the playlist first, all events are set to 1. (FB102561) In the Roll and Crawl effect settings, the Reset All to Default button does not do anything. (FB98282) Charts do not animate/stagger to initial values in G3D. (FB96096) Using scripts to set RTX tags causes G-Scribe to hang. (FB94806) Subtitle configuration for blank pages is not currently documented. (FB95743) In the inscribe.ini file, under [Preferences] and the following line and then save the file. [Preferences] subtitleswithblanks=true RTX is unable to set tag contents when object is not visible. (FB94283) Default template DVE or CLR button does not reset the DVE. (FB93449) Main timeline of G-3D files only plays the first few frames and then stops before jumping back to the first frame. (FB92715) Adding a new style library item gives a confusing ID number. (FB89218) New styles added to the Styles Library are not in chronological order. (FB89500) When configuring the second and later ODBC tags, the tag content is not updated until going to another event and going back to the tagged event. (FB89222) Changing to QuickEdit module and erasing content text doesn't actually remove the canvas text. (FB88143) Increasing the Blur value for an object in FX will cause the object to move to the top left corner of the canvas. This does not interfere with object output and will not be fixed. (FB89239) Styles are not saved to the global Style Library properly. (FB88522) Width/Height with mouse wheel roll does not change values accordingly. (FB87706) The Run Job option in Sequencer does not recognize FX pauses. (FB82670) The G-Scribe interface does not save toolbar positions properly when critical Windows updates are performed on G1 systems. (FB69155) In Program/Preview mode, the CLR button above the Preview window is not functional. The CLR button above the Program window, however, will clear both the program and preview display. (FB76802) Continuous crawls with a text data source break when there is a blank line in the data file. The live textures in G-3D do not have sound when taken to air in G-Scribe. When you select File > Print from Media Store, G-Scribe stops operating. Diagnostic Logging and Shell Extensions are not uninstalled when G-Scribe is uninstalled. You cannot force a via transition to scale to the current layout resolution. If you undock the main toolbar, the icons become unavailable. Discrete AES audio input does not work on the XD-200. Double-clicking a.scribelist file does not open the file when G-Scribe is running. If you have previously selected the CANVAS object in the FX module, you cannot deselect it without first selecting it again Imagine Communications Corp. Proprietary and Confidential. 8/13/2014 Page 12
13 Automation Interface Known Issues Renaming source file is not reflected in Automation Interface. (FB89860) MOS object previews do not include the background media if the template includes the CG_BACKGROUND tag that allows you to change the background media file. (FB76353) RTX COM Known Issues RTX 2.5 does not have the COM help files. Roll.RollOff is always true. RTX.NET Known Issues No feedback is given to the RTX application if Phoenix is not running. Crawl autopause does not work. G-3D ignores pause points after being cleared, setup, and taken again. G-3D Known Issues Resetting an imported material does not update its thumbnail. Audio used in G-3D does not publish to Connectus as a dependency. You cannot copy an object and then use 'Paste Into' to nest it into another object. After using the Undo action, you cannot 'Redo' a material application to objects. You cannot undo an action that is applied by Script Manager. The Object Render Priority label is cut off on a Simplified Chinese Windows 7 OS. The Ambient Light Color label is cut off on a Simplified Chinese Windows 7 system. The Auto Load label is partially hidden when Script Manager is opened on a Simplified Chinese system Imagine Communications Corp. Proprietary and Confidential. 8/13/2014 Page 13
