4 1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS The PKG-INSTALL module is designed to allow you to install any Prophet 21 Optional or Select Software via a serial number, instead of using a separate tape to install the feature. Before proceeding with these instructions, be sure to Stop the system. Run a Verify and the Job MISMATCH. For more information on these commands, refer to your Prophet 21 Operator s Manual. Turn all units offline. For more information on turning your units offline, refer to the Operator s Manual Make a total copy of your system. For more information on creating a total copy, refer to the Operator s Manual. After the total copy is made, keep the system stopped and turn all units online. For more information on turning your units online, refer to the Operator s Manual. At Utility Command, press [Esc] to go to the Job prompt. Press [Enter] to log into the system and get to a Job prompt or jump to box. 1. To install the Optional or Select Software, you need the shipping paper sent to you by Prophet 21. This shipping paper contains a serial number which will be used in a later step. 2. Type PKG-INSTALL at the job prompt or jump to box to display the following screen: 4

5 1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CREDIT REPORTING FOR D&B/TRW PKG-INSTALL This program will allow you to pre-install an optional package or direct catalog feature. All that is required is the serial number, which is located on your shipping paper. Please enter serial#: 3. Enter the serial number that appears on the shipping paper sent by Prophet 21, and press [Enter]. 4. If an incorrect serial number is entered, the following message appears: ** Invalid Serial Number! ** Retype the serial number from your shipping paper or contact the Prophet 21 Inside Sales Department for assistance. 5

6 1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CREDIT REPORTING FOR D&B/TRW 5. If the correct serial number is entered, the following screen appears: ** Pre-Install Complete! ** Do you wish to run INSTALL now? (Y N) 6. To continue the installation of the Optional or Select Software, type Y and then press [Enter]. The Optional or Select Software installation screen will appear. To suspend the installation of the Optional or Select Software, type N and then press [Enter]. When you are ready to resume the installation, type INSTALL at the job prompt or jump to box and press [Enter]. The Optional or Select Software installation screen will appear. Installing: DC D&B/TRW CREDIT REPORTING MM/DD/YY ** No activity profile questions needed. ** ** No file or jobstream changes needed for this feature. ** Proceed? (Y N): Y Installation complete. Strike any key to continue... Enter a "Y" to Proceed, "N" otherwise. If you choose to proceed, the Select Software is installed. A message displays when the installation is complete. 7. If PKZIP software is not currently installed on your system, install it now using the instructions that follows. You should have received a diskette containing PKZIP software. Insert the diskette containing the PKZIP software into the drive of the RISC System/6000 unit. Log on to the AIX system as the root user and type the following command at the AIX prompt: # dosread zip /usr/local/bin/zip When this procedure is complete, type the following: chmod 755 /usr/local/bin/zip This completes the installation of the PKZIP software. 8. When the installation has been successfully completed, remember to activate all terminals by entering GO at the Utility Command prompt. 6

7 2 USING THE SOFTWARE An easy, accurate way to send credit information to Dun & Bradstreet or TRW. The Credit Reporting for Dun & Bradstreet/TRW Select Software provides the ability to send customer credit information to Dun & Bradstreet or TRW on 3 1/2 inch diskette in PKZIP format. CUST-CREDIT An option is available to build Dun & Bradstreet or TRW credit data. Using this option, a credit reporting file can be created for either Dun & Bradstreet or TRW, and saved to a diskette. Q-MODE must be ON to use this option. IMPORTANT! Before you run this option, insert a blank, 3 1/2 inch diskette in the drive of the RISC System/6000 unit. The credit reporting information will be saved to this diskette. When you choose the option to Build D&B/TRW, the Credit Reporting screen displays. 7

8 2 USING THE SOFTWARE CREDIT REPORTING FOR D&B/TRW BUILD D&B OR TRW CREDIT DATA D&B and TRW Credit Reporting Run date: MM/DD/YY 1 D&B VTA# / TRW Contributor # Business category (TRW only) 9999 FIELD: To build credit data for Dun & Bradstreet, enter the VTA Number, and leave the Business Category field blank. To build credit data for TRW, enter the Contributor Number and the Business Category. When you press [Return] at FIELD, a credit reporting file is created (with either Dun & Bradstreet or TRW data) and the file information displays. Record length: 9999 Record count: DONE. Press any key. This file information is needed for the paperwork that accompanies the diskette. The credit information file (named TRWDATA.ZIP) is automatically compressed in PKZIP format and saved to the diskette. 8
