1 Tutorial 2A A QUICK-START GUIDE NewsMaker 2015 for Windows Teevers Pte Ltd. All Rights Reserved.
2 BEFORE YOU START 1 Make sure NewsMaker is installed. 2 This Quick-Start Guide will not be able to cover every function in the software, but it will provide you with enough basics to explore the other functions yourself. 3 For technical assistance, please send us an via
3 WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING To produce a weather report video of Barcelona.
4 LET S BEGIN Launch NewsMaker. Register for an account by clicking on New User. Sign in with your username and password.
5 CREATE A PROJECT Specify Weather News as the Project Name. Type in the description of this project. Click on CREATE button.
6 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 1 Click on ADD button.
7 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 1 Specify countdown as the SEGMENT NAME. Select TRAILER as the SEGMENT TYPE. Select yourself (or leave it blank) under ASSIGN TO and click on OK button.
8 SEGMENT 1 TRAILER Select the Countdown trailer. Click on the BACK ARROW (bottom left-hand) button to go back to SEGMENT LIST.
9 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 2 Click on ADD button.
10 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 2 Specify introduction as the SEGMENT NAME. Select WEBCAM RECORDING as the SEGMENT TYPE. Select yourself (or leave it blank) under ASSIGN TO and click on OK button.
11 SEGMENT 2 WEBCAM RECORDING Type your text on the teleprompter (as shown). Click on the RECORD button to start recording. Click on the STOP RECORDING button to end the recording. (Recording automatically stops if the text scrolls out of the teleprompter.)
12 SEGMENT 2 WEBCAM RECORDING Click on the PLAYBACK button to review the recording. Re-record if necessary. You may adjust the Speed controller to adjust the scrolling speed of the teleprompter.
13 SEGMENT 2 WEBCAM RECORDING Select WEBCAM panel to add in the virtual facial effects (as shown). Explore. Resize and reposition the webcam window (as shown). Choose a background, put in the labels and turn on the subtitles (as shown).
14 SEGMENT 2 WEBCAM RECORDING PLAYBACK to review the recording again and if all is fine, go back to the SEGMENT List.
15 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 3 Click on ADD button.
16 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 3 Specify opening as the SEGMENT NAME. Select TRAILER as the SEGMENT TYPE. Select yourself (or leave it blank) under ASSIGN TO and click on OK button.
17 SEGMENT 3 TRAILER Select the Weather Climate You trailer. Go back to SEGMENT LIST.
18 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 4 Click on ADD button.
19 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 4 Specify weather news as the SEGMENT NAME. Select VOICEOVER IMAGES as the SEGMENT TYPE. Select yourself (or leave it blank) under ASSIGN TO and click on OK button.
20 SEGMENT 4 VOICEOVER IMAGES Click on ADD LOCAL IMAGES button to add images. Click and drag the images to the desired sequence. Click on OK button to proceed.
21 SEGMENT 4 VOICEOVER IMAGES Type your text on the teleprompter (as shown). RECORD. During recording, click on the image to slide to the next image in the slide deck.
22 SEGMENT 4 VOICEOVER IMAGES Go to WEBCAM selection panel to turn the webcam off. Design the segment (as shown). PLAYBACK to review the recording. Go back to SEGMENT LIST.
23 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 5 Click on ADD button.
24 CREATE A SEGMENT SEGMENT 5 Specify ending as the SEGMENT NAME. Select TEXT INSERT as the SEGMENT TYPE. Select yourself (or leave it blank) under ASSIGN TO and click on OK button.
25 SEGMENT 5 TEXT INSERT Type your text in the textbox (as shown). Change LABEL STYLE to transparent. Set DURATION to 10 seconds.
26 SEGMENT 5 TEXT INSERT Design this segment (as shown). Go to MUSIC to select a background music. PLAYBACK to review the segment. If all is fine, go back to SEGMENT LIST.
27 SAVE, PREVIEW AND PUBLISH Click on SAVE TO CLOUD to save your project online. Click on PREVIEW ALL to preview the entire video.
28 SAVE, PREVIEW AND PUBLISH PLAYBACK to preview the entire video (all the segments). Click on PUBLISH button to publish the video. If you saved your video to Portfolio, your video can be watched at
