1 Cntrller CAN Ndes Extending the Cntrl System Varius CAN Ndes are available fr Smartpack, Smartpack2 and Smartpack S cntrllers. The ndes have dedicated inputs and utputs that expand the system mnitring. The units plug-and-play with Smartpack cntrllers, n lcal pwering f the units is needed. CONTROLLER CAN NODES CONTROL SYSTEM Overview The cntrller CAN ndes cver all aspects f DC pwer system mnitring: AC Mains Vltage, current, frequency and energy cnsumptin Battery symmetry, current and fuse mnitring Alarm utputs and cntrl inputs Lad branch current and fuse Climate cntrl f fan/filter cabinets Generatr cntrl/fuel tank level measurements KEY FEATURES FLEXIBILITY AND RELIABILITY Mst CAN Ndes have a rugged sealed-plastic design, with pst, DIN-rail r Velcr tabs as standard munting ptins. Pwer and cmmunicatin ges thrugh the CAN bus, and hence nly a RJ45 patch cable is required fr cnnecting the nde t the cntrl system. This allws great flexibility in psitining f the ndes they can be put clse t their measuring cnnectins, reducing wiring. All cntrller CAN ndes cmes with a DIP-switch t allw multiple mdules f the same type n the CAN bus. The maximum number f each type is limited t 14. PLUG AND PLAY After setting the CAN ID f mdule by the DIP-switch and cnnecting it t the CAN bus, it will plug and Play with the Smartpack, Smartpack2 and Smartpack S cntrllers. Meaning, the mdule will autmatically cmmunicate with the cntrller when cnnected t the CAN bus. Cnfiguratin, setup and calibratin is then available via the cntrller s frnt panel and thrugh the cntrller s web-based user interface (CWUI) r the PwerSuite PC applicatin. GLOBAL COMPLIANCE The CAN Ndes are apprved fr glbal use meeting CE safety and EMC requirements. Units are als UL Recgnized fr safety (incl. CSA). 2 BATTERY MONITOR BATTERY MONITOR Its cmpact design and easy cnnectin t the cntrl system thrugh the CAN bus, makes it perfect fr bth clcated and remte battery banks. Battery temperature is measured by the embedded temperature prbe n external sensr and wiring required. The unit has 4 vltage measurement inputs used fr battery symmetry mnitring based n midpint r blck measurements. Furthermre the battery mnitr has inputs fr mnitring ne battery shunt and battery breaker. LOAD MONITOR LOAD MONITOR Individual distributin breaker mnitring can be dne with the Lad Mnitr. The unit has the pssibility t cnnect up t 8 current shunts and mnitr 8 fuses individually. It can be used fr bth psitive and negative distributins. Hwever it is imprtant fr the current measurements that the shunts are cnnected t the same ple as the system reference f the cntrl system. CAN repeater and CAN Pwer device can be used in cases where this is nt fulfilled. I/O MONITORS I/O MONITORS The I/O Mnitrs are used t expand the standard mnitr and alarm capabilities f the cntrller. Each I/O mnitr mdule has 6 cnfigurable inputs fr fuse sense and feeding external signals int the cntrl system, and 6 cnfigurable relay utputs fr cnnecting external alarms. The I/O Mnitr Type3 is designed fr ding tank level measurements. Sme f its inputs are prepared t d high reslutin current and vltage measurements. In additin, special inputs and utputs are added fr climate cntrl in utdr cabinets in the I/O Mnitr (Outdr) and Type3. FLEXIMONITOR FLEXIMONITOR The FlexiMnitr is a multipurpse, additinal and ptinal CAN Nde fr Eltek Smartpack2 and Smartpack S based cntrl systems. FlexiMnitr adds many advanced features t yur cntrl system, such as high-accuracy current measurements, symmetry and vltage measurements dwn t battery cell level, high vltage fuse sensing, mre cntrl & alarm utputs, additinal temperature measurements and mre. 3 CAN POWER CAN POWER All ndes are pwered by the distributed pwer supplied n the CAN bus by the Smartpack and Smartpack2 basic cntrllers. If the CAN bus needs t be islated r additinal CAN bus pwer is need, the CAN pwer mdule can be added t supplement the available pwer. The CAN pwer mdule is mandatry if any CAN cntrl units are t be cnnected t a Cmpack cntrller. AC MAINS MONITOR AC MAINS MONITOR With inputs fr measuring vltage and current n up t 3 phases f the AC mains f a system, the mains availability, quality and cnsumed energy are easily mnitred. The energy lg keeps track f cnsumptin per phase and ttal, and stres it by hur, day and week. The lg is available fr dwnlad thrugh the WebPwer interface t the system. The current range are set by selecting the sensr, 0 50 A up t A are available. Due t sftware restraints the energy lg supprts nly up t 200A. There is als a cnfigurable data lg that by default stres AC frequency tgether with current and vltage fr each measured phase and a time stamp. The lg interval is cnfigurable and the lg has space fr the last 5000 samples.
