1 TechNtes Revisin 5/23/2011 TS7 Features Overview: The TS7 InWall Tuch Screen includes supprt fr cmpsite (F cnnectr) vide input, and als features 6 sft keys fr easy access t cmmn features withut waking up the screen. This dcument describes hw t utilize these features. Required Tls: Yu will need the fllwing: 1. TS7 InWall Tuch Screen Pwered up and cnnected t HC cntrller (cre mdule 5.1 r later) 2. Vide cnnectin t F Input (ptinal, if using lcal vide feature) Access lcal vide input: The TS7 includes a cmpsite vide pass thru and lcal vide display thrugh F cnnectr input/utput jacks. While there is n special setup t enable pass thru, a custm cntrl must be placed n a Custm Tab t utilize the lcal vide display. The fllwing describes the setup. 1. Create r mdify a custm tab r hme page in the Cnfiguratr as desired, and arrange any existing cntrls t allw space fr the Vide. Fr example, the belw custm hme page was arranged n the 800x480 layut with a large space n the left t place the Cmpsite Vide cntrl: Nte: The cntrl shuld be added t the 800x480 reslutin as this is the reslutin used by the TS7. 2 2. Right-click the empty space and chse Add New Cntrl, then select Cmpsite Vide frm the list. 3. Drag the edges f the grey placehlder bx labeled Cmpsite Vide t enlarge the cntrl t fill the desired area, like belw. Nte the Cmpsite Vide cntrl will autmatically keep aspect rati (prprtin) when resizing. NOTE: Cmpsite Vide and Vide Stream cntrls cannt be placed n the same interface. Once a Vide Stream cntrl is added, Cmpsite Vide will n lnger display as an ptin within the Add New Cntrl dialg. Likewise, if Cmpsite Vide is added t an interface, Vide Stream ptins will nt be available. 4. Check the Viewer. Nte the Cmpsite Vide will display the lcal vide input in the defined stream area, and if the vide is tuched it will lad Full Screen. In Full Screen mde, backlight timeut and screensaver functins are disabled and the screen will stay n fr 1 hur r until full screen is exited. T exit Full Screen, simply tap the screen again. Nte the Cmpsite Vide feed will always be frm the input n the current TS7, and it is nt necessary t create multiple interfaces fr multiple TS7. Tech Supprt: Page 2 f 7

3 Sft Keys: The TS7 features 6 buttns, 3 n either side f the screen. These buttns can be cnfigured t prvide varius functins t the hmewner directly, withut requiring navigatin thrugh the tuch screen t access the nrmal cntrl interface. Buttn Default Settings: Mn (Tp Left) Light Bulb (Middle Left) Music Nte (Lwer Left) UP Arrw (Tp Right) DOWN Arrw (Middle Right) Crssed-ut Speaker (Lwer Right) When Screen Pwered ON: Single Tap turns ff backlight. Press and Hld fr several secnds pwers dwn screen. When Screen Pwered OFF: Single Tap pwers up screen. Nte this is the nly buttn that has a functin when the screen is pwered OFF. This buttn may be cnfigured as an event trigger, typically t cntrl lighting features. This is a single actin buttn, but can send events when pressed r released. When pressed, the screen will nt wake up ut f display ff r screensaver mdes. There are als ptins in the cnfiguratr event mapper t cntrl the state f the LED backlight fr this buttn and check the state f this LED as a cnditinal. This can be used t cnfigure this buttn t als indicate status f the light r scene it is cntrlling. When a Default Media Tab is selected n the Interface tab, cntrls the media zne pwer. This is a single actin buttn, but can send events when pressed r released and may be used in Event Mapper. In additin, this buttn always prvides ALL ZONES OFF functin when pressed and held t turn ff all media znes. When pressed, the screen will wake up ut f display ff r screensaver mdes. When a Default Media Tab is selected n the Interface tab, sends Vlume Up cmmands. This is a mmentary (press and hld t repeat cmmands) buttn. If in screen saver r display ff mde, the screen will wake and shw a vlume prgress bar (2-way drivers nly) alng the tp f the screen. When a Default Media Tab is selected n the Interface tab, sends Vlume Dwn cmmands. This is a mmentary (press and hld t repeat cmmands) buttn. 4 Sft Key Cnfiguratin: Vlume, Pwer & Mute Keys: T utilize Vlume/Mute buttns frm the right side f the screen r Pwer n the left t cntrl a media zne (typically the rm where the TS7 is installed), yu must assign a Default Media Tab. 1. Enter Cnfiguratr, and click n the Interface tab. 2. Select the desired TS7 frm the list f Tuch Screen Optins, and expand the Tab Layuts fr Media. 3. Select the desired Media Zne as the default tab, and click apply. Light Hard Buttn The Light hard buttn n the TS7 is cnfigured using Event Maps, and can be used t tggle a lighting lad r lighting scene. When the buttn is pressed, the system receives a Light Buttn Dwn message frm the screen. When it is released, the system receives a Light Buttn Up message. These messages are the Events in the event mapper. 1. Frm the Interface tab, right click the ELAN TS7 entry and select Create Event Map Fr > Light Buttn Dwn ptin. The Create New Event Map windw will pen, with the name ELAN TS7:Light Buttn Dwn pre-filled: Tech Supprt: Page 4 f 7

5 2. Click the OK buttn t accept the name and pen the Edit Event Map windw. The Event sectin is autmatically pre-filled with the buttn press cmmand as seen in the image belw: T add a Keypad Buttn Press, click the Add buttn next t the Cmmands sectin f the windw. 6 4. Frm the System Family sectin, select Lighting System In the Cmmand Grups windw, select the scene yu wish t actuate then select Press Scene Buttn frm the Available Cmmands list: Click OK t save the cmmand t the event map, then clse the Edit Event Map windw. Tech Supprt: Page 6 f 7

7 Light Hard Buttn with LED sync The state f the LED n the Lighting buttn may als be tggled thrugh Event Mapper if yu are cntrlling a single lad.
