3 INSTALLATION STEPS T install the EBC-000G chassis, the fllwing installatin steps must be cmpleted: Step 5: Step 6: Step 7: Step 8: Step 9: Step 0: Step : Step 2: Unpack the chassis. Remve the cver. Remve the Internal bracket. Install the PSU. Install the internal 2.5 HDD. Install the SBC (Single Bard Cmputer). Install the I/O bracket. Reinstall the Internal bracket. Cnnect the cables. Install the I/O cnnectrs. Reinstall the tp cver. Install the base plates.step 0: Figure 3: Tp Cver Retentin Screws at the Rear Remve the tp cver gently.step 0: STEP 3: INTERNAL BRACKET REMOVAL The internal bracket divides the EBC-000G chassis int the upper cmpartment and the lwer cmpartment. T remve the Internal bracket, remve the fur Internal bracket retentin screws, tw frm each side f the chassis. The installatin steps utlined abve are described in detail belw. Please refer t the relevant sectin. STEP : UNPACK The EBC-000G is shipped in a plastic bag that is placed inside a cardbard bx. When yu unpack the chassis yu must: Make sure all the items listed in the PACKING LIST sectin are present. Make sure the chassis has nt been damaged in any way. STEP 2: REMOVE THE TOP COVER The tp cver is secured t the chassis with six retentin screws, tw at the rear, ne n the right side, ne n the left and tw n the tp f the chassis. Remve all six tp cver retentin screws frm the tp, rear, left and right sides f the chassis. Figure 4: Internal bracket Retentin Screws STEP 4:POWER SUPPLY UNIT (PSU) INSTALLATION Cmpatible IEI PSUs are listed in table 2 n page 4. The PSU is secured t the lwer cmpartment f EBC-000G chassis. T install a cmpatible PSU, please fllw the steps belw: Cnnect the PSU cables t the terminal blcks n the PSU. Make sure the input PSU cables cnnected t the pwer scket and the utput PSU cables are crrectly cnnected t the PSU. T install a 2.5 HDD, fllw the steps belw: Psitin the 2.5 HDD in the 2.5 HDD bay. Make sure the PCB bard faces the bttm f the Internal bracket and the IDE/SATA cnnectr faces the rear f the Internal bracket. Figure 6: Output PSU Cables Pin Definitins Figure 9: 2.5 HDD Psitin Figure 7: Cnnect the Pwer Cables t the Terminal Blcks Align the fur 2.5 HDD retentin screw hles n the sides f the 2.5 HDD with the fur retentin screw hles n the sides f the 2.5 HDD drive bay in the Internal bracket. Munt the PSU nt the lwer cmpartment base. T secure the PSU t the lwer cmpartment, insert fur retentin screws thrugh the bttm surface f the lwer cmpartment int the fur PSU retentin screw hles. Step 0: Insert fur retentin screws, tw int each side f the 2.5 HDD, t secure the 2.5 HDD t the Internal bracket. 5 STEP 6: SBC INSTALLATION Align the retentin screw hles in the SBC with the fur cpper pillar retentin screw hles. Step 0: STEP 7: I/O BRACKET INSTALLATION The EBC-000G chassis supprts fur SBC I/O brackets fr the seven cmpatible IEI SBCs. The user can chse the crrespnding I/O bracket accrding t the installed SBC. The I/O brackets pictures and the crrespnding cmpatible IEI SBC mdels are shwn in the table belw. I/O Bracket SBC Mdel WAFER-C400-RS Insert fur cpper pillars int the Internal bracket. T install a WAFER-662 SBC, ne f the cpper pillars has t be replaced by a plastic pillar stuck t the Internal bracket. T d this, fllw the steps belw: Install the crrespnding I/O bracket at the frnt f the EBC-000G chassis. Make sure the wrds n the I/O bracket face the frnt f the chassis. T secure the I/O bracket t the chassis, insert fur retentin screws, tw int the tp and tw int the bttm f the I/O bracket. Step 0: Figure 2: WAFER-662 Plastic Pillar Munt the SBC nt the cpper pillars. Make sure the I/O cnnectrs face the frnt f the Internal bracket. Figure 4: I/O Bracket Retentin Screws STEP 8: INTERNAL BRACKET REINSTALLATION After the crrespnding I/O bracket is installed, the Internal bracket can be installed. T d this, fllw the steps belw: Figure 3: I/O Cnnectrs Directin Run the 2.5 HDD ribbn cable, pwer LED, pwer switch, reset switch and HDD LED cables thrugh the hle in the left side f the Internal bracket. 6 Step 7: Step 8: Reinsert the fur previusly remved Internal bracket retentin screws. Cnnect the PSU and the 2.5 HDD ribbn cable t the SBC. Figure 5: The Hle in the Right Side f the Internal bracket Cnnect the PSU cable t the fan pwer cable. Run the SBC pwer cable thrugh the hle in the rear f the Internal bracket. Reinstall the Internal bracket. Make sure the I/O cnnectrs are installed int the crrespnding hles in the I/O bracket. Step 9: Cnnect the reset switch, HDD LED and pwer LED cables t the SBC. The cables prvided with the chassis are intrduced in STEP 9: CABLING. Step 0: STEP 9: CABLING The EBC-000G chassis frnt panel has: x Pwer LED x HDD LED x Reset buttn x Pwer switch x Pwer Scket T cnnect the pwer switch and pwer scket, refer t STEP 4: POWER SUPPLY UNIT (PSU) INSTALLATION. The ther cmpnents are all cnnected t the SBC with cables. The cables prvided with the chassis are listed belw. N. Figure 22: Frnt Panel t Adapter Cabling Cnnect the frnt panel LEDs and reset switch t the pin header t bx header adapter cable as shwn in Figure-20. Nte that the wire clrs f the adapter match the wire clrs f the cables when cnnected prperly. Cnnect the adapter cable t CN n the SBC as shwn in Figure-23. Figure 20: Frnt Panel t Adapter Cabling The adapter cable has 7 pins, but the CN pin header nly has 6 pins. Therefre, in Figure-23, the blue wire (at left) is cnsidered as pin based n the cable cnnectin t the SBC. Carefully make nte f pin when cnnecting the adapter cable t the SBC. Cnnect the adapter cable t the SBC as shwn in Figure-2. The adapter cable has a keyed cnnectr t prevent it frm being cnnected t the SBC imprperly. Step 0: Figure 2: Adapter Cable t SBC Cnnectin STEP 9B: FRONT PANEL CABLING 2 Use these steps t cnnect the chassis frnt panel LEDs and reset switch t the fllwing SBCs: WAFER-937 WAFER-C400 WAFER-LUKE Refer t STEP 9A fr cabling ther SBCs. Cnnect the frnt panel LEDs t the 2.4mm t 2.0mm adapter cable as shwn in Figure-22. The adapter cable has n dedicated pin designatin. Therefre, in Figure-22, the blue wire (seen at tp) is cnsidered as pin based n the cable cnnectin t the SBC. Carefully make nte f pin when cnnecting the adapter cable t the SBC. Figure 24: RESET SW Cable t SBC Cnnectin STEP 0: OPTIONAL CABLE INSTALLATION The EBC-000G chassis I/O bracket supprts Printer, COM 2, Muse and Keybard cables. The I/O cables are listed belw: N. Please ensure that the cmputer is switched ff befre yu replace a fan. T secure the cnnectr t the I/O bracket, insert tw retentin screws, ne int each side f the cnnectr. The EBC-000G chassis can supprt up t tw fans at the rear f the chassis. T replace a fan, please fllw the steps belw: Remve the tp cver. (Please refer t STEP 2: REMOVE THE TOP COVER) Unplug all the cables, including the 2.5 HDD ribbn cable, that are cnnected t the SBC. Remve the Internal bracket. (Please refer t STEP 3: INTERNAL BRACKET REMOVAL) Unplug the fan pwer cable. T reinstall the tp cver, slide the cver back ver the chassis and reinsert the six previusly remved retentin screws. Step 5: Remve the fur fan retentin screws, ne frm each crner f the fan. STEP 2: BASE PLATE INSTALLATION Tw base plates are shipped with the EBC-000G chassis. The base plates are installed n the sides, at the bttm f the chassis. Each plate is secured t the chassis with three retentin screws. T install the base plates, please fllw the steps belw: Align the retentin screw hles n the side f the chassis with the retentin screw hles in the base plate. Insert tw retentin screws int each base plate. Figure 28: Fan Retentin Screws Step 6: Install a new fan int the fan bracket and reinsert the fur previusly remved fan retentin screws. 9 The EBC-000G chassis came with an extra fan bracket fr an extra fan. T install an extra fan, please fllw the steps belw: Place the extra fan bracket nt ne f the tw pairs f the reserved fan bracket retentin screw hles at the rear f the Internal bracket. Install a fan int the fan bracket. Make sure the fan pwer cable is at the bttm f the fan and the side with the sticker face the rear f the chassis. Insert fur retentin screws, ne int each crner f the fan, t secure the fan t the fan bracket. CABINET INSTALLATION Supprting rails, rack trays, r slide rails can be installed using the munting hles n the sides f the chassis. The fur munting hles in the tw base plates, tw in each base plate, are shwn belw.
