2 Step 1. Uncrating and Lifting Open the crate frm the tp. Use crane r frklift t lift the display ut f the crate. Always use ALL the lifting eyeblts prvided fr lifting. Nte that display is tp heavy. Strap dwn the display befre accessing the display r leaving it unattended. Step 2. Munting the display Munt the display. Angle irn brackets are prvided n the back fr munting t a frame r stringers. Make sure prper ventilatin is prvided t the display. Please reference ventilatin requirement sheet enclsed in this setup guide. Step 3. Opening the display Tp Hinge Bttm Open Cabinet Lcate the Allen screws at the bttm f the face panel. Use a 5/32 Allen driver t lsen the screws. Then pull the display panel utward. Bttm Hinge Tp Open Cabinet Lcate the Flat Head screws at the tp f the face panel. Use a Flat Head screw driver t lsen the screws. Then pull the display panel utward. 3 Step 4. Cnnecting Pwer and Earth Grund Electrical must be dne thrugh a certified electrician, and installed in accrdance with the requirements f Natinal Electrical Cdes r lcal cdes. Rute all electrical wires and cables inside prperly sized cnduits and attach t the elbws behind the display. Splice the AC cnnectin inside the display r cnnect AC t the breaker r terminal blck. This sign is intended t be installed in accrdance with the requirements f Article 600 f the Natinal Electrical Cde and/r ther applicable lcal cdes. This includes prper grunding and bnding f the display. DISPLAY MUST BE PROPERLY GROUNDED TO AN EARTH GROUNDING ROD AT THE BASE OF THE SIGN WITH A #6 (MIN.) GROUNDING WIRE TO THE CHASSIS OF EACH SIGN FACE. This sign is intended t be installed in accrdance with the requirements f Article 600 f the Natinal Electrical Cde and/r ther applicable lcal cdes. 5 Master / Slave Cnnectin Lcate the LAST Scan Bard (as shwn in the image abve) in the data chain (far left) inside the Master Unit and the FIRST Scan bard (far right) inside the Slave Unit. Run Master Slave Cable thrugh the cnduit elbw behind the cabinet if it is nt pre attached. Cnnect Master Slave Cable t ne f the (secndary) data prts n the LAST scan bard (far left) in the data chain inside the Master Unit. Run Master Slave Cable thrugh a prperly sized cnduit and attach cnduit t the elbw n the Slave Unit. Cnnect Master Slave Cable t ne f the (primary) data prts n the FIRST (far right) scan bard inside the Slave Unit. Temp Dimmer Senr Assemble the radiatin shield and Temp Dimmer Sensr. Radiatin shield requires simple assembly f 8 layers f shell with Temp Dimmer Sensr as the 5 th layer. See image belw. Lcate the Internal Cntrller and cnnect Temp Dimmer Sensr t the RJ11 phne jack. Cmmunicatin Cnnectins Wireless Ethernet Items prvided by Optec Image Item Name WLAN POE & Pwer Outdr Cable Patch Cable Munting Qty: 2 2 each 75F 1; 25F A Clear Line f Sight is required between Sign End and Cmputer End Wireless Units. Hardware Cnnectins Cnnecting Sign End Wireless Typically the POE device is preinstalled inside the display. Simply cnnect the wireless unit t the POE prt f the POE device inside the display using 25FT utdr CAT5 cable prvided. Make sure wireless unit is installed facing the Cmputer End Wireless Unit. Use the directinal munting bracket prvided fr directinal adjustments. Cnnecting Cmputer End (User End) Wireless Install the wireless unit t where it has direct line f sight t the Sign End Unit. Wireless Unit must be installed exterir t the building, NOT inside the building r behind the glass. Use the directinal munting bracket prvided fr directinal adjustments. Cnnect the 75FT utdr CAT5 cable prvided t the wireless unit and run the cable t the POE device. Cnnect the patch CAT5 cable frm the LAN prt f the POE device t the LAN prt f the User End Prgramming Cmputer. Cnnect pwer t the POE. Nte that a Switching HUB is nt required fr Cmputer End Wireless Unit, unless it is t be n a Netwrk. *See IP cnfiguratin and Sftware Setup page t transmit message (Use Internet Setup). 7 Ethernet Items Prvided by Optec Image Item HUB Qty: 1 Run the Ethernet CAT5 (in cnduit r direct burial) frm the ffice ut t the display. Cnnect ne end (CAT5 Cable) t the Cntrller LAN prt inside the Display (Master Unit). Cnnect the ther end (CAT5 Cable) t the prgramming cmputer. Always have separate cnduits fr AC and Data. *See IP cnfiguratin and Sftware Setup page t transmit message (Use Internet Setup). Ethernet Fiber Optic Cnnectin Items Prvided by Optec Image Item Fiber Mdem Qty: 2 Multi Mde 2 Strands Fiber Optic Cable with ST Cnnectr is required. Cables are nt prvided by default. Cnnecting Sign End Cnnect Fiber Optic Cnverter t the Cntrller LAN prt with the shrt CAT5 cable prvided. Feed the Fiber Optic Cable (ST cnnectr) int the display cabinet thrugh the cnduit elbw. Cnnect the Optic Cable (ST cnnectrs) t the Fiber Optic Cnverter. Recrd the clr f each strand cnnected t RX and TX Prt. Run cable in a cnduit and feed t Cmputer End (ffice). Pwer up the cnverter Cnnecting Cmputer End (User End) Cnnect Fiber Optic Cnvert t PC with prvided shrt CAT5 cable. Cnnect the strand cnnected t the RX n the display side t TX n the PC side. Cnnect the strand cnnected t the TX n the display side t RX n the PC side. Pwer up the cnverter *See IP cnfiguratin and Sftware Setup page t transmit message (Use Internet Setup). Sftware Setup Run ME3 (Media Editr 3) Sftware CD Install MediaEditr 3 Install UserEnd Schedule Editr Run UserEnd Schedule Editr Cnfigure display setup (display reslutin) and cmmunicatin setup 1. Display Setup: Optin Change Sign Size 2. Add Display Name and Setup Cmmunicatin: Optin Cnnectin Prperties 3. Add Display Name: Select Cnnectin Type (Netwrk (LAN/WAN) fr all Ethernet cmmunicatins Add New Enter IP Address (Cntrller IP if different frm default). 10 4. Cnfirm cmmunicatin between display and prgramming PC: Cmmand Get Sign Inf. If cmmunicatin is established, Sign Inf windw will pp up and shw firmware versin, crrect Sign Size, and etc. 5. Send Sign Size t Display Cntrller: Cmmand Send Sign Size and Psitin (Make sure display has cmmunicatin with prgramming PC r PC using t run this prgram). 6.
