2 Remember the purpose: To AID The aid(s) should: illustrate the point aid in audience understanding/ processing of the concepts The aid(s) should not: be the reason for the presentation be the presentation distract from/take over the presentation Guidelines for Aids Selecting aids Designing aids Using aids Selecting Aids Ethical Remember the purpose: Clarity aid your presentation Appropriateness Simple Design Concepts Transport Visible/Audible

3 Ethics = Copyright Laws Solely educational purpose No profit realized Only 1 copy of work made No loss of income to author/creator Work not handed out Source appropriately acknowledged General Design of Aids Prepare well in advance Make aids look/sound professional (simple, accurate, uncluttered, error-free) Consider purpose of presentation available resources to create aids facility (set-up, resources, etc.) text/graphics number of aids Have a back-up plan Designing Slides/Transparencies Want help?
