9 What access models are available? One Copy One User Purchase one or more copies of a title. When all copies are checked out, a user may place a hold / reservation. Purchase additional copies as needed. HarperCollins ebook Model (See Appendix for more information) Each HarperCollins ebook offers 26 checkouts. 12 Custom collections on shared websites Use your Advantage account to Reduce waiting lists: Add more copies of popular titles to reduce waiting lists for patrons at your library. Library #1 Custom Collection Create a custom collection: Develop a collection of titles that is not part of your shared collection. Library #4 Custom Collection Shared Collection Library #2 Custom Collection Continued access: Provide access to both the shared collection and the custom collection on the same download website. 14 Completing a purchase order To submit your order 1. Add titles to your shopping cart. 2. Click the 'View Cart' icon. 3. Select 'Edit select list name' to assign a custom name to your purchase order. 4. Select 'Complete P.O.' 5. Confirm your order all sales are final. 6. Next, you'll have the option to attach an 'Internal purchase order ID' to your order. 7. Click 'Submit' to send your order to OverDrive. Tip: Disable pop-up blocker before submitting your purchase order. v OverDrive, Inc Page 14

18 #2: Involve your staff Action Item: To schedule staff training, contact Library staff offer a key to success Give staff an opportunity to participate in the purchasing process by creating lists in Content Reserve. During routine branch visits, ask for suggestions for your digital collection. Create a Suggestion Box on your website. 19 #3: Maximize your collection Action Item: Try browsing a Suggested Title List, and select titles. Purchase from suggested title lists. Check out the 'Marketplace' homepage, tab features, and suggested title lists in Content Reserve. Subscribe to a Maximum Access plan. Always available, simultaneous use collection. No wait lists on many popular and classic titles. Choose your subscription level (e.g. 25, 50, 75, or 100) and select from many publishers and suppliers. Community Reserve is a digital resource sharing tool that enables you to upload and share local content. Increase the value of your collection by uploading local historical documents, educational materials, and locally produced music or video to your Virtual Branch via the Content Reserve collection development portal. 21 #5: Automate your collection Action Item: Set up from the Quick Links in 'Marketplace'. Automatically add best sellers to your digital collection and keep wait lists to a minimum using these tools in Content Reserve. Download Standing Order Plan Get best sellers in your collection automatically, and tailor the plan to fit your needs and budget. Holds Manager Create a holds manager plan by selecting a hold ratio, monthly budget, frequency, and maximum title limits, and OverDrive will fill holds for you automatically. How do we get started? 31 HarperCollins New ebook model Each HarperCollins ebook offers 26 checkouts. After 26 checkouts, the title will no longer be available unless additional copies are ordered. HarperCollins ebooks ordered before March 7, 2011 will not be affected. HarperCollins ebook titles can be ordered from Update preferences for HarperCollins titles: Profile tab > Manage Preferences. Marketplace home page: Quick Links > License HarperCollins ebooks. Collection tab: Content Reserve Collection Tools > License HarperCollins ebooks. 32 User rights User rights can be used to help facilitate workflow for the library's selectors. SL (Submit List) & DL (Delete List): We recommend only users who have final content approval should be assigned SL (Submit List) and DL (Delete List). MU (Manage Admin Users): This permission should be restricted to one or two staff. It allows a user to create additional logins and potentially enable additional permissions. 33 Consortium invoicing: Selectors submitting orders for a single location. Instructions: Complete the following setup for every selector who will be submitting purchase orders for a single location. Go to: User tab > Add new user. Create the user account, and be sure to assign the SL (Submit Select List) user right. Enter the location name to be invoiced into the 'Description' field. Example: If a librarian from Westville submits purchase orders on behalf of Westville only, type 'Westville Public Library' in the 'Description' field. 34 Consortium invoicing: Selectors submitting orders for multiple locations. Instructions: Complete the following setup for every selector who will be submitting purchase orders on behalf of multiple locations. Go to: User tab > Add new user. For the first location, create a user account, and include the following: 1. Add the location name to the login ID sequence. For example: consortium.lib.librarian_westville. 2. Be sure to assign the SL (Submit Select List) user right. 3. Enter the location to be invoiced in the 'Description' field. Repeat the steps above for each additional location to be billed.
