3 Manual Befre/After Images V Main windw Overview The sftware Befre/After Images V2.14 allws the creatin f befre / after image cmparisns. The picture cmparisns can enclse 2 r als several images. This manual describes all functins f the sftware. Specifying where image files. 2. Lad main image. 3. Set reference pints in the main image. 4. Lad cmparisn images. 5. Set reference pints in the cmparisn images. The Preparatin tab appears by clicking n the preparatin area belw the main tlbar. Layut 2

4 Manual Befre/After Images V2.14 The tab Preparatin cnsists f the fllwing tw halves: Main image (Left half) Cmpare images (Right half) Each f the tw halves in turn cnsists f the fllwing parts: Tlbar Area fr displaying the image Area with cntrls fr varius display ptins and additinal infrmatin. Input fields Input field Output flder In this field, the flder must be defined, where the image files are stred, which are t be used fr the image cmparisn. Functins Main tl bar The main tl bar is lcated belw the main menu. Icn Create a new (= empty prject). Icn Open an existing prject. The phts, the reference dts and the settings f the cut lines are laded. 3

5 Manual Befre/After Images V2.14 Icn The current settings (Names f image files, referenc pints and the settings f the cut lines are saved t a prject file. Icn The cmparisn images are scaled, rtated and aligned. Then the preview is displayed. If t few images were laded and / r t few reference pints have been set, an errr message is displayed. In this case, the peratins f scaling, rtatin and alignment are nt executed. Image tlbar The image tlbar is lcated abve the area where the image is displayed. Icn Lad a pht f the pht cmparisn. Supprted frmats: - JPG - PNG - TIFF Drp dwn list (nly cmparisn images / right half) In this drpdwn list all previusly laded cmparisn images are listed. In this list, the image can be selected t be displayed and edited. Icn (nly cmparisn images / right half) Delete the current cmparisn image frm the list. The image file itself is nt deleted frm the hard drive. Icn Set reference pint 1. Icn Set reference pint 2. Icns,, und Mving the selected reference pint ne pixel up, dwn, left r right. With these functins, the reference pints can be precisely set t a specific pixel. Selectin list Zm With the entries f this list can be specified the zm factr with which the image is t be displayed. Fr setting the reference pints we recmmend t use a zm factr f 100% r 200%. Selectin list Reference pints Once reference pints have been set, they are displayed in the selectin list. When a reference pint is selected in the selectin list, the visible area f the screen is psitined s that the selected reference pint is visible. 4

6 Manual Befre/After Images V Select image Descriptin In this dialg, an image file can be selected. In the selectin list all image files (JPG, TIFF and PNG) are shwn, which are cntained in the input flder (Sectin/Tab Preparatins(See 1.1)). The dialg is displayed after a click n the icn (Sectin/Tab Preparatins(See 1.1)). Layut Functins Buttn OK The name f the selected image file is saved and the dialg clsed. Buttn Cancel Abandn all changes and clses the dialg. 1.2 Tab Preview Descriptin In the Preview tab, the images are accurately displayed ne abve the ther. The user can alternatively display the images. With the cut lines, the user can specify which part f the images shuld be stred in the strage tab. 5

Icn Select the upper cutting line. The upper cutting line can als be selected via the cntext menu with Right muse buttn / Select upper cutting line. Icn Select the lwer cutting line.. The lwer cutting line can als be selected via the cntext menu with Right muse buttn / Select lwer cutting line. Icn Select the left cutting line. The left cutting line can als be selected via the cntext menu with Right muse buttn / Select left cutting line. Icn Select the right cutting line. The right cutting line can als be selected via the cntext menu with Right muse buttn / Select right cutting line. 6

8 Manual Befre/After Images V2.14 Icn Mve the selected cutting line upwards. The selected cut line can als be mved with the Up arrw key if the muse pinter is ver the preview image. Each click r keystrke mves the selected cutting line ne pixel up (relative t the riginal size f the image files). Icn Mve the selected cutting line dwnwards. The selected cut line can als be mved with the Dwn arrw key if the muse pinter is ver the preview image. Each click r keystrke mves the selected cutting line ne pixel dwn (relative t the riginal size f the image files). Icn Mve the selected cutting line t the left. The selected cut line can als be mved with the Right arrw key if the muse pinter is ver the preview image. Each click r keystrke mves the selected cutting line ne pixel right (relative t the riginal size f the image files). Icn Mve the selected cutting line t the right. Die selektierte Schnittlinie kann auch mit der Taste Pfeil Rechts bewegt werden, sfern sich der Mauszeiger über dem Vrschaubild befindet. Pr Klick der Tastendruck wird die selektierte Schnittlinie um ein Pixel (bezgen auf die Originalgrösse der Bilddateien) nach rechts bewegt. Selectin list The chice list cntains all images f the image cmparisn. The chice list cntains all pictures f the picture cmparisn. Icn Save the prcessed images. Selectin list Zm Zm factr with which the images are t be displayed. Cut lines If a sectin f the yellw lines is clicked, this line is displayed in range (= selected). With the cursr the cut line can nw be mved. 1.3 Tab Strage Descriptin In the tab Strage the user can specify, - whether the perfectly fitting images shuld be resized and /r sharpened, befre saving, - image frmat, in which the strage is t ccur and - file name (including path) f the images t be stred. 7

9 Manual Befre/After Images V2.14 The Strage tab is displayed by clicking n the strage area belw the main tlbar. Layut Input fields Check bx Image resizing If this bx is checked, the images will be resized befre saving. Input field Width Width f the resized images in pixels. Input field Height Height f the resized image in pixels. Selectin list Aspect rati The chices are: Nne The image is saved in the height and width defined by the user. Fixed width The images are stred in the width defined by the user. The rati f the cut lines is maintained, i.e. the height is adapted t the width. Fixed height The images are stred in the height defined by the user. The rati f the cut lines is maintained, i.e. the width is adapted t the height. Selectin list Image frmat The fllwing utput file frmats are currently supprted: - JPG - PNG - TIFF Depending n the frmat, different ptins can be selected: 8

10 Manual Befre/After Images V JPG / Quality: Specifies the strage quality. Best Quality: LZW / Cmpressin: Nne r LZW. Input field Output flder The images f the cmparisn are all stred in the same flder. In this input field yu can define this flder. By default, the flder is used, which is defined in the Dialg Flder(See 2.1). Selectin list Image This list cntains all the images that were used fr the cmparisn. Fr the currently selected image is displayed: - Settings fr sharpening the image. - File name fr string the image. These values can be changed. Input field Filename File name fr string the image. Checkbx Sharpening If this checkbx is activated, the image is sharpened befre string. In the input field Value, the strength f the sharpening can be set. Functins Icn (Tlbar Strage tab) After clicking n this icn the images will be resized and/r sharpened and then stred. Buttn... (Sharpening) The Dialg Sharpen(See 1.3.1) is displayed. In this dialg the parameters fr sharpening the images can be adjusted and cntrlled. Buttn... (Output flder) The standard Windws dialg fr selecting a flder is displayed. The user can select the utput flder. Buttn Name (Output file name) Generates the filename fr string the image frm the defined utput flder, the name f the input file and the selected file frmat. Buttn Open utput flder Opens the Windws Explrer and shws the cntent f the utput flder Sharpen Descriptin In this dialg the parameters fr sharpening the utput image can be defined and verified. Left, the riginal image is displayed, right the sharpened image. The Sharpen dialg is pened by clicking the buttn... in the Strage tab(see 1.3). Layut 9

Selectin list Zm With the entries f this selectin list can be specified the zm factr with which the image is t be displayed. Functins Buttn Refresh Sharpens the image using the current settings and update the right display. Buttn OK The current settings are saved and the dialg is clsed. Layut Input fields Input field Input flder The flder defined in this input field will be the default value fr input field Input flder (Sectin/Tab Preparatin(See 1.1)). Grup Output flder prcessed images The flder defined in this input field is used as the default value fr the input field Output flder prcessed images (Sectin/Tab Strage(See 1.3)). Optin / Input field Full path Optin selected: The flder defined in the input field Full path r selected by will be the default value fr input field Output flder prcessed images (Sectin/Tab Strage(See 1.3)). Optin Subflder f the input flder Optin selected: The sub flder defined in the input field Subflder f the input flder will be the default value fr input field Output flder prcessed images (Sectin/Tab Strage(See 1.3)). An errr message is displayed when an incrrect input is detected r when such a recgnized flder des nt exist. Buttn Cancel Abandn all changes and clses the dialg. Buttn... (Input field Input flder) Using this functin, the Find Flder dialg can be pened. This dialg makes easier t search fr a specific flder. Buttn... (Input field Output flder prcessed images) Using this functin, the Find Flder dialg can be pened. This dialg makes easier t search fr a specific flder. Buttn... (Input field Prject flder) Using this functin, the Find Flder dialg can be pened. This dialg makes easier t search fr a specific flder. 2.2 Settings Descriptin In this dialg, the default values fr different values can be set. The dialg can be accessed via the menu item Optins / Settings... Layut Input fields Selectin Default image frmat strage The selected value is used as the default fr the image frmat fr string the prcessed phts (Sectin/Tab Strage(See 1.3)). Functins Buttn OK All data is saved and the dialg is clsed. Buttn Cancel Abandn all changes and clses the dialg. 2.3 Language Descriptin In this dialg yu can define the language fr the user interface t be displayed. 12

Layut Input fields Selectin list Language In this selectin list, the language can be determined, in which the user interface t be displayed. Functins Buttn OK The selected language is saved and the dialg is clsed. Changes take effect nly after restarting the sftware. Buttn Cancel Abandn all changes and clses the dialg. 3. Activatin, Updates, etc. The chices are: Activatin(See 3.1) Updates(See 3.2) Abut Befre/After Images(See 3.3) 3.1 Activatin Descriptin This dialg is needed t activate the sftware. This dialg can be accessed via the menu item Help / Activatin. This dialg can be invked nly if the sftware has nt been activated yet. Layut 13

15 Manual Befre/After Images V2.14 Input fields Input field License key In this field, the license key must be entered. Functins Buttn Start activatin After pressing this buttn the activatin starts. Activatin requires a wrking internet cnnectin. Buttn Activate later With this switch, the activatin can be pstpned. This buttn is enabled nly if the time has nt yet elapsed fr the activatin. 3.2 Updates Descriptin This dialg allws yu t search fr new versins f this sftware. This dialg can be accessed via the menu item Help / Updates.... Layut Functins Buttn Search fr updates This buttn starts the search fr newer versins f this sftware. This feature requires a wrking internet cnnectin. 3.3 Abut... Descriptin This dialg displays the infrmatin abut the current versin f Befre / After images. 14

Layut Input fields Check bx D nt shw after starting the prgram If this check bx is selected, the dialg is nt displayed after starting the prgram. Functins Buttn Clse The dialg is clsed.
