3 Can my password I use for logging into Eclipse Mobile contain an ampersand? (&) No it cannot. Other special characters not allowed in the password are: quote mark ( " ), apostrophe ( ' ), less-than sign ( < ), greater than sign ( > ). All other special characters tested OK for use in passwords. How do you assign customers to a salesman in E-Mobile? There are 2 ways of doing this. 1. The first is via the SLSMN.CUSTOMER.MAINT auth key level (level 1 can only see customers that they are a salesperson on, level 2 can see and place orders but not edit). 2. The second way is by setting the control setting Enable Access List In Eclipse Mobile to yes and setting the salesperson on the customer record. This will restrict a users results in a Customer Search to those Customers where the User is defined with Access. The Access is set in Customer Maint > Access. If the user is not defined on that Screen then the Customer will not be returned in the Search results. You can disable this functionality via the Control record "Enable Access List In Eclipse Mobile. I set the control setting Enable Access List In Eclipse Mobile to Y. Now I can't see customers. That control setting is to limit Mobile user's access to only records associated for customer accounts that the user is assigned access to. Sometimes senior management wants total access while limiting sales people's access to only their accounts. The current workaround is to mass load the user ID of the manager to all customer records that need to be accessed. 3

4 Can the Save to Device option be disabled? That option is only available on Android or Laptop devices, and currently there is not a way to disable it. That option is not a feature of the ios currently. Is there a method to limit Business Summary access while in Mobile? There is a new AUTH KEY for business summary - MOBILE.BUSINESS.SUM How do I change the logo? Create your logo and save it as logo.png. Then go to C:\Eclipse\Mobile\Content\img and replace the file logo.png with the file you created. The logo should be no taller than about 17px and no wider than about 200px. A couple pixels wider or higher will be fine but anything too big and it will look bad. How do I change the default session timeout? Try this first: F2>F>C and type in WOE WEB SESSION as the keyword, you will get the WOE Web Session Timeout and you change adjust as needed. This should control your emobile timeout session. Then try this if first one does not work: The default session timeout may be adequate, but if not here is how to set it a. On the application pool: IIS, Application pools, Advanced Settings, Idle Timeout b. On the website: website, Session State, Time-out in cookie settings c. In the Application: C:\Eclipse\Mobile\Web.config change the timeout attribute in the forms authentication tag. Where does the default ship via come from if it is not set at the customer level? If it is not set on the customer it uses the branch specific or default ship via set on the ZIP code. F1-Z-Z 4

5 How do I create a Customer Mobile user that only has access to only their company's account? Set up a Contact record for the customer user and associate that contact record to their company's customer record. To restrict a Mobile user to one customer account, create a contact record for the user, and associate that contact with the customer record. Click on Maintenance Contact Maintenance and create the user contact. Then enter the customer entity the user will be associated with. Then click on Information Web Order Entry. Assign a login and password, and then set the WOE Access Method Control to Mobile (or Both if currently using WOE). Click OK and then save the changes. Can I add a new customer, or can I just create new sales orders for existing customers? Cannot create a customer record. Can create new sales orders for existing customers. How do I set up having an inside salesperson get a message from Eclipse if a new bid/order is created? In Customer Maintenance, under Remote Order Entry, there is a field titled Default User Messaged With New Order #. Enter the user that should receive notification of a new order. Can an order be placed for a customer that does not have a home branch assigned? No. Can product searches use the Product Family search feature? In Mobile, using the / symbol followed by a product family description search doesn t return the products in the family. But SOE does. Mobile is not designed to use the product family search feature. 5

6 Can/How do you add freight to an order? A user can choose a Ship Via that is set to pass along freight charges to a customer. Or a miscellaneous charge product record for freight can be added onto an order. Can I edit an existing order using Mobile? Order Editing is not currently an option. It is in a future enhancement with no scheduled start date yet. Instead what they can do is create a tracker against the order and assign it to an inside staff person. We chose this path as the complexities of editing orders is a high effort and the existing functionality within Solar or Eterm is very strong. We do want to allow editing orders but realistically it would be well into 2014 before it gets a serious consideration due to other priorities. Update: Open Order editing is now possible in Eclipse Mobile. Can Purchase Order information be viewed or accessed with Mobile? No Purchase Order information is available. Can Signature Capture work with Mobile? Signature Capture is not part of Mobile. Another Companion Product called Proof of Delivery could be used on the same device to collect signatures for order deliveries. UPDATE: A signature can now be captured on any order in eclipse mobile. This was added with the 3.10 release ~ June 2013 On the dashboard, can you sort My Accounts Currently this cannot be done. It currently sorts by the Eclipse internal ID number of the customer. Can I send an from the Mobile application? Currently yes it can be done. It was non-functioning in versions and lower, and the recommended workaround is to set up an activity trigger for sending an by Eclipse. Testing in indicates that feature is functional. 6

To get them not to appear in Mobile, the tracker has to be closed in Eclipse. That cannot be done in Mobile. If pictures show on web commerce, will they show on Mobile? If an image shows up in WOE it should show up in Mobile. Can you add multiple users to the follow up when the tracker is created? You can only add one at a time. The chart in TRENDS shows Sales by Type for Last Year. Does that go by comm code or GL? It does both. If GL product types are not set up, then it uses commodity code. Can a salesperson view their annual sales budget in aggregate, combining all customer account budgets? The feature was discontinued in Mobile 3.1.0, due to the process being too slow and failing to return results. Sales budgets can be viewed at the customer account level by doing the following: Click on Dashboard, and then choose a customer. Click the Overview tab, and then click on Sales Tools, then Sales Budget. 7

8 How do you get product families on the Mobile landing page Eclipse must have WOE drills set up. This presumes that Web Commerce is authorized at the Mobile account. What are the supported browsers? Eclipse Mobile is supported on the browsers below. The easiest summary is Any mobile device that uses a Webkit browser will have a superior user performance. Older devices will run the application but many features of the application will not be fully functional. If you have a Verisign certificate for the emobile companion product, visit to force emobile to go to the secure connection even if a user types http. What order statuses are available in Mobile? When logged in as an Eclipse user you will have the following statuses: B - Bid L - Call When Available A - Ship When Available M - Ship Item Complete C - Call When Complete H - Ship When Complete When logged in as a customer, the available statuses will be based on the valid statuses set in customer maintenance (B - Bid will always be there). The valid statuses are found under the hot key M (Remote) and V (Valid Stats) in Eterm and under the Orders>Remote Order Entry Parameters>Valid Statuses tab in Solar. 10

11 If an activity is entered in Mobile with a follow up date, when will Mobile place that in the Reminders folder? Eclipse will place a reminder entry in Mobile after the follow up date has passed. (i.e. the next day.) It does not appear on the actual date entered in Mobile or Eclipse as the follow up date. Can the Pay with Credit Card option be disabled in Mobile using the control setting Display The Credit Card Information Page In WOE That setting is not respected in Mobile. There is currently not a way to disable that option Is There an Auth Key for the "Overview" Tab? Starting in Mobile 3.1.4, it requires employee users to have AR.ALLOWED and AR.ALLOWED.HOMEBR authorization keys assigned How to restrict a customer to view only their account and prices Create a contact record for the customer, and associate that record to the customer record. That will restrict the user to information only for that customer record. From Eterm, F1 Customer Maintenance. Call up the customer record. Alt+C to create a contact. Enter the customer information. Then Alt+O for WOE. Enter a log in and password. In the field WOE Access Method Control, set the value to MOBILE. Is there a way to control if a product can display in Mobile? Mobile product access can be restricted to a customer by price line. This is the only method allowed in Mobile. In customer maintenance, use the Lines hotkey to specify which price line to display in Mobile. Any price lines entered here will be the only lines this customer is allowed to search for, or browse, in Web Order Entry or Sales Order Entry as long as the control file WOE Restrict Customers To Specified Price Lines is set to Y. Can you enter a Return in Emobile? Not a current feature in emobile. 11

12 How is the customer template selected when creating a new prospect? When creating a new prospect, to set the appropriate branches and settings, the system reads the customer template set on the New Customer Maintenance Template control record. The system uses the logged user home branch to select the appropriate template. Detailed release notes: Can sent and received messages be deleted? Users can delete sent or received messages. Detailed release notes: Cart and Order Entry Messages When creating a new cart or editing an existing one, the Order Entry messages set in Customer Maintenance now display in Mobile. When the bill-to or ship-to customer on the cart has an Order Entry message set, a new button displays, allowing the user to read the OE message at any time. Detailed release notes: Add Activity button in Order Summary The new Add Activity button in Order Summary displays the New Activity page for Ship-To Customer. Use this option to quickly add a new customer activity for the Ship To Customer of the order. The Activity log option is now called Order Activity.
