1 Common Issue Fix: My internet doesn t work When everything seems right with the phone yet the handset is still unable to get internet access, after ensuring the MDN and MIN is correctly programmed into the handset, please check the following: Step 1: In the Settings menu of the handset go to Wireless & networks Step 2: Go to Mobile networks

2 Step 3: Ensure Data is enabled Some handsets have a widget that makes this an even quicker process on the M865, scroll down from the top to access this menu. Note the second icon from the right on the top is the Data Switch. If this is grey, then data is turned off, press the <Data Switch> to turn on. The process above will work on this handset as well, but this is a quicker method.

3 Common Issue Fix: Locked out of Android When a customer has forgotten their password to their Android device please follow the following steps to unlock their handset. Step 1: Enter the wrong password five times into the handset Once you have inserted the incorrect password five times, the handset will say something to the effect of, hey, five times your out, please wait 30 seconds before entering the correct password. Step 2: Hit OK Step 3: Hit <forgot pattern?> located in the bottom right corner.

4 Step 4: Enter the correct Google (Gmail) username and password (**assigned to this handset) into the corresponding fields and press <sign in> Please note, if the handset is unable to log in please ensure the following: Username is associated with the hanset; password is correct. If you are able to log into the Gmail via computer but not the phone, change the password via computer (to something easy) and then enter this into the handset Once it logs in with this information it will give you the option to enter a new unlock pattern.

5 Common Issue Fix: M570 I can t remember my lock code So our customer has locked themselves out of their UMX M570 handset because they forgot their lock code (lol). After verifying they own the handset, because sometimes people steal phones, do the following: 1. Enter as the lock code 2. Press ok 3. This will disable the lock function and reset the code to Ensure to remind the customer that it might be a good idea to write the code down next time

6 Common Issue Fix: Marketplace Malfunction Google regularly updates their marketplace sometimes, an update won t play nice with a particular handset. If the Subscriber is having issues with the Marketplace, and it is stuck on this screen (left) please do the following. Step 1: Go to Settings and click on Applications Step 2: Click Manage Applications

7 Step 3: Under Downloaded applications locate the Market application, and click it Step 4: Click Uninstall Updates Step 5: Select OK

8 Step 6: After uninstall completes, open the marketplace, note it will ask for acceptance to use the market After accepting this, you will get the original marketplace. The handset will automatically notice the marketplace is out of date and upgrade the marketplace on next marketplace boot. The Marketplace is now updated to the latest and greatest marketplace and should work without issue.

9 Common Issue Fix: Using Android Recovery to Fix Issues For use when handset power cycles, or when customer has forgotten password and has not set up Google account **Please note, this method will clear all customer data Milano Step 1. Take out the battery then put the battery back into the phone Step 2. Press and hold the volume down button and hold the power key for ten seconds Step 3. While still holding the volume down button, let go of the power button Step 4. (still holding the power button) The phone should boot up then display the Android Recovery Symbol Step 5. Press the Home Key Step 6. Using the Volume Up key, scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset Step 7. Open the keypad and press the enter key M835 Step 1. Take out the battery then put the battery back into the phone Step 2. Press and hold the volume up button, the call send button and the power key for ten seconds Step 3. Using the Volume Up key, scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset Step 4. Press the ok button M865 Step 1. Step 2. Step 3. Step 4. Take out the battery then put the battery back into the phone Press and hold the volume up button and the power key for ten seconds Using the Volume Up key, scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset Press the power button M860 Step 1. Take out the battery then put the battery back into the phone Step 2. Press and hold the volume up button, the call send button and the power key until Android Recovery screen Displays Step 3. Using the Volume Up key, scroll to Wipe Data/Factory Reset Step 4. Press the ok button UMX 670 Step 1. Take out the battery then put the battery back into the phone Step 2. Press the menu, volume up key, and power button (from power off until it displays the UMX screen) Step 3. Once in the recovery mode, press the back key Step 4. Use the volume keys to navigate and the menu key to make selection
