3 Scenario A: New Device Setup Note: Screen images may vary depending on carrier and device 1. Power on the device 2. A welcome screen will be displayed. Select English, then tap Start [Figure 1] 3. You will be prompted to insert SIM card. Tap Skip [Figure 2] 4. Setup Wi-Fi network. If Wi-Fi is available, connect to the available network, then tap Next [Figure 3] 5. A Date & Time screen will be displayed. Select the correct Time Zone and Time for your store. Tap Next when finished [Figure 4] 6. Confirm Yes on End User agreement, then tap Next [Figure 5] 7. 4 Scenario A: New Device Setup (cont.) 1. Google Map service screen will be displayed, tap Next [Figure 1] 2. A Name screen will be displayed. Leave both fields blank and tap Next [Figure 2] 3. Tap Skip when prompted with the Samsung Account Setup screen [Figure 3] 4. A Setup Complete screen will be displayed. 5 Scenario B: Device has the retail mode already installed Follow steps in Section III to uninstall Retail Mode Application Once the Retail Mode Application is uninstalled, Scenario B is complete. Continue to the Installation section Choose the Installation scenario that applies best 5

6 Scenario A: DOWNLOAD INSTALLATION Internet connection is required. Device has access to Wi-Fi/4G network. Retail experience content will be downloaded from the cloud Follow the links below to download Retail Mode Application Link to download Retail Mode Application (APK) Another option to download Retail Mode Application (APK) from Google Play 6

7 01. Copy & Run Retail Mode Application APK 1. Download Retail Mode Application APK from the link provided (page 6) to a computer 2. Copy Retail Mode Application APK from the computer to the device s Download folder [Figure 1] 3. Run the Retail Mode Application APK [Figure 2] Note: The correct APK version will be provided from the download link 4. Security window will launch and ask for confirmation for application installation from unknown sources 5. Check Unknown Sources [Figure 3] 6. Tap OK [Figure 4] Figure 3 Figure 4 7

8 02. Install Retail Mode Application 1. Start installing the Retail Mode Application 2. Tap Install, then tap Open [Figure 1 & 2] 3. Samsung Retail Mode window displays installation in progress 8

9 03. Continue Installing Retail Mode Application 1. A warning message about application installation will be displayed. Tap PROCEED [Figure 1] 2. Select an appropriate Retailer/Carrier channel [Figure 2] For example: Best Buy 3. Enter the password based on the channel that the device will be shipped to [Figure 2] 4. Tap CONFIRM button [Figure 2] 9

10 04. Complete Retail Mode Application Installation 1. Content for Galaxy Tab A(2016) US Regular Experience will be downloaded automatically (Figure 1) 2. Time to download content varies and depends on store network connectivity. 3. The attractor video will start automatically (Figure 2&3) Figure 3 10

16 UNINSTALL RETAIL MODE APPLICATION 1. Launch the Samsung Retail Mode app from the home screen [Figure 1] Figure 3 Samsung Retail Mode 2. Tap MORE drop-down menu at the top-right corner. Next, tap Store Settings [Figure 2] 3. Authentication screen will be displayed [Figure 3] 4. Enter the channel-specific password. Tap OK to access the store settings [Figure 3] 16

17 UNINSTALL RETAIL MODE APPLICATION (cont.) 1. Toggle Disable the factory data reset to OFF and exit the application [Figure 1] 2. A message will be displayed to confirm uninstallation. Tap OK [Figure 2] 3. When prompted, tap UNINSTALL to remove the Retail Mode Application [Figure 3] 4. The Retail Mode Application will begin to uninstall Figure 3 17
