1 INSTRUCTIONS Update software on Blackberry smartphone To upgrade the software version to v4.5.x.xx on your BlackBery smartphone you should folow the folowing steps: 1) Check the current software on your BlackBerry smartphone To check your current software, follow these steps on your BlackBery smartphone: From the main menu go to Options. Select About. The first two lines will show your model number. The field starting with v should show Your software version. If the software version on your phone is v4.5.x.xx (or v4.6.x.xx for BlackBery BoldTM) you do not need to update your software. If your software is diferent from v4.5.x.xx (or v4.6.x.xxfor BlackBery BoldTM) follow the instructions shown below. 2) Necessary components for the software update: Desktop Manager - computer software that allows communication between your BlackBery smartphone and your PC. To update the software on your phone you need the latest version of this software Software for your BlackBery smartphone; Data cable for the connection between your computer and your phone. The latest version of "Desktop Manager" and software for your smartphone can be downloaded from the website of M-Tel: 3) Download and install software"desktop Manager". 3.1.) Download step bystep: Visit: Select BlackBery Desktop Manager Select Save and save the file on your computer

2 3.2.) Installation step by step: Click on the downloaded file in step 3.1 and press the button Run. Select the language for installation of this program

3 Press button Next.

4 Select country (Bulgaria) and press button Next. If you agree with the licensing conditions for use of this software, select "I accept the terms in the license agreement" then press "Next".

5 Choose the setup type and press button Next. Select "Integrate with a personal account" if you use the service Blackbery Internet Solution or "Integrate with a work account" if you use the service Blackbery Enterprise Solution. Press the button "Next".

6 Press the button Install.

7 Press the button Finish. 4) Download and install software on your BlackBerry smartphone 4.1.) Download step by step: Visit: Select the model of your BlackBery smartphone and select the link below it. Select Save and save the file on your computer 4.2.) Installation step by step: Click on the downloaded file in step 4.1.exe file and press the button Run

8 Select the language for installation of this program and press the button OK. Press the button Next. Select country (Bulgaria) and press button Next.

9 If you agree with the licensing conditions for use of this software, select "I accept the terms in the license agreement" then press "Next". Press the button Finish.

10 5) Update software on your BlackBerry smartphone. 5.1 Start Desktop Manager software on your computer. 5.2 Through data cable connect your BlackBery smartphone to your computer (use the USB port of your computer). 5.3 Desktop Manager software will automaticaly detect the new software version for your BlackBery smartphone. 5.4 Press the button Update Now.

11 5.5 On this step you could use buttons Advanced and Options for additional configurations. Press the button Options (from step 5.5) and check the box "Backup device data automatically during the instalation process", to back up all the information from your smartphone. To continue to the next step click Next. *If the box "Backup device data automatically during the instalation process" is NOT checked, there is a risk of lost important information from your smartphone after the software update!

12 Press the button Advanced (from step 5.5). On this step you can add/remove options to your new BlackBery software. To continue to the next step press the button Next. 5.6 To start the process of upgrading your BlackBery smartphone press the button Finish.

13 5.7 Screen below shows that you have successfully updated the software on your smartphone. Important: - Before starting the process of updating your software, make sure the phone battery is fully charged. - Do not remove data cable from phone or computer during the process of updating software. This can lead to irreversible damage to your phone.
