Step 1: Install the Console 8 Go to www.certiport.com and log in with your Certiport username/password.

Select Organization Member or Org Admin in the pull down menu under welcome 2.

If you are responsible for multiple schools, you would have been associated to each school and you would have a pull down menu within the organization field (select the correct school) 4. Step 3: Configuring the Console 8 Upon completion of the download you should see

Click on admin Credentials and enter the Username and Password of the Computer s for full local admin rights (Domain is not required) click OK 5. Then Click on Updates 6. System and Console 8 should already be checked. 7. Check the following Program Updates: MS Office Specialist, MS Certified Educator and MS Technology Associate 8. DO NOT check any other program boxes at this time. 9. Click the arrow to begin installation This process takes approximately 5-8 minutes per computer. 5 6

Click the arrow. 3. You will have a series of green boxes, that you will be clicking through: Certify, then Microsoft Office Specialist, then the MOS version of software (should only have one green box) then choose an application (Word) then click the arrow. 4. LAN Solution Optional configuration (8.4 version): From time to time Certiport updates the testing engine. When updates are available each computer will need to be updated.

With LAN solution, only one computer would need to be updated and the other lab testing computers would ping the server console and automatically update. 7 Items to note: MS Office Certification exams runs on concurrent technology: Office software (full installation) needs to be installed on each computer including Outlook (not connected to exchange server) Certiport s testing engine are not supported on thin/zero/web/citrix clients. If a solution is implemented Certiport may not be able to support technical issues during the exam MS Office exams are PC based and are administered through a PC. If your lab has a MAC environment you can partition the MAC to run both operating systems. However, Certiport may not be able to support technical issues during set up or issues that may occur during the exam. Office 2010 software needs to be installed at 32Bit, Office 2013 or 2016 can be installed at either 32 bit or 64 bit Common issue during the exam is windows updates. There is a fix available for teachers to stop the windows installer error and resume the exam. If possible please allow teachers privileges to perform this task. Any type of Restoring Software (deep freeze) is recommended to be disabled during testing day or the exam will not be able to keep user tracking progress should the exam freeze and the computer to which the student is taking the exam on is shut down and restarted. Please review the common support issues to avoid errors upon the testing engine set up. These can be located at: (tech support within the support for top right on our home page). We update the testing engine from time to time. However the updates are not always mandatory. Teachers can run updates on the testing engine if the Admin Credentials were added to the Console 8 and if the restoring software has been thawed.
