3 1 Mounting Location For The Touch Screen Display NOTE: Make sure the vendor is operational by vending a beverage before beginning. Remove power from vendor. On the DN3800 and DN5800 Glass Front, you may need to replace the Service Door Top Bezel assembly with one designed for a card reader. Top Bezel with Card Reader Opening Coca-Cola Top Bezel P/N Bev Max 3 Coke Red Bezel CCP P/N Bev Max 3 Dasani Black Bezel CCP P/N Bev Max 4 Coke Red Bezel CCP P/N Bev Max 4 Dasani Black Bezel CCP P/N Installing The 4.3 Touch Screen Display Remove the door display security plate (4 screws) located above the bill acceptor mounting hole. Note: Keep these four (4) screws for If the Service Door Top Bezel Assembly is not designed for a card reader, you will need to change the Top Bezel. To change the Top Bezel, remove the (6) Phillips screws that attach the Top Bezel to the Service Door and install a new Top Bezel with Card Reader hole. Install the Display mounting plate using the (4) screws removed from The mounting plate rectangular hole must be towards the top. 3

4 Step 4. While holding the display in the top bezel, attach the display to the mounting plate with (4) Phillips screws. Step 5. Plug in the display ribbon cable as shown, extending the cable upward. The ribbon cable is keyed, so it will only fit one way. 3 Install the Vantage Bill Acceptor Connect the Vantage MDB harness P/N to the bill acceptor before mounting to the vendor. Remove the bill box to make the bill acceptor installation easier. Attach the Vantage bill acceptor/card reader to the vendor using 4 nuts. 4

5 4 Install the IRIS Media Telemeter Find a suitable place to mount the yellow IRIS Media Telemeter, within reach of all the harnesses. The box has 4 magnets built in for attaching to any metal surface. Neatly route the ribbon cable from the LCD Display to the IRIS Media Telemeter. Plug the cable into the backside of the IRIS Media Telemeter. Step 4. Use a cable tie to hold excess ribbon cable out of the way. 5 Install The Antenna Find a suitable metal location for mounting the antenna on the outside of the vendor. Be sure there is enough antenna wire to reach the IRIS Media Telemeter before drilling a hole! Drill a 5\8 hole in the top of the cabinet service compartment to attach the antenna on the outside of the vendor. Try to keep the Antenna away from any electronics such as transformers, ballasts or fluorescent lighting. Remove the antenna nut and install the gasket to the bottom of the antenna as shown. 5

6 Feed the antenna wire through the drilled hole. Dixie Narco Glass-Front vendors require a barrel Nut Extension, p/n Use a 7/8 wrench to tighten the barrel nut. Step 4. When routing the antenna wire, keep it away from the fluorescent light ballast. Do Not coil the excess antenna wire. Excess antenna wire must not be bundled. 6 Perform Final Connections DEX Be sure to unplug and remove any external DEX jack(s) from the vending machine. Plug the white 16-pin DEX harness connector to the yellow IRIS Media Telemeter. Plug the other end of this harness into the controller board s DEX jack. 6

7 MDB Plug the 6-pin IRIS Media Telemeter MDB harness ( ) to the MDB connection coming from the vendor s controller board. Next, plug the MDB harness from the bill acceptor to the coin changer MDB plug and the other end goes into the IRIS Media Telemeter MDB plug. Plug the 12-pin white connector to the IRIS Media Telemeter labeled MDB. CARD READER Plug the white 20-pin connector from the Card Reader bezel harness to the IRIS Media Telemeter. The box is labeled Reader. Step 4. ANTENNA Screw the Antenna harness to the Antenna jack located on the bottom left side of the IRIS Media Telemeter. Note: Be sure the antenna connector is Finger Tightened Only! Step 5. Use cable ties to neatly dress the added wires. Be sure to keep all wires away from moving parts and the bill acceptor box. See example. 7
