2 This guide is designed to assist maintenance and avionics technicians in replacing the Electronic Engine Control (EEC) used on the Cessna Citation Mustang. The Pratt & Whitney Canada GBS system is required to complete this maintenance task. The GBS system is sometimes referred to as DPHM which stands for Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management. 4 Abbreviations CDMS= Citation Diagnostics Maintenance System (onboard diagnostics) DPHM= Diagnostics, Prognostics and Health Management EEC= Electronic Engine Control FADEC= Full Authority Digital Engine Control GBS= Ground Based Software TLA= Throttle Lever Angle

5 EEC Replacement Notes First step is to record the trim values from both channels of the original unit. Remove the EEC. Install new EEC. Input the trims and engine serial number into the new unit. Perform engine run / operational check.

6 Turn battery power and avionics power off. Ensure that external power is disconnected.

7 GBS kit P/N consists of the following: 1) PWC69317 Download Cable Assembly 2) PWC90191 RS232-USB Adapter and Cable 3) CD containing the drivers for the RS232-USB adapter 4) CD containing the following software: a. GBS Transfer Module b. GBS Diagnostic Module (GBSLite) c. Interactive Engine Technical Manual (IETM)

8 Make sure that the maintenance switch is in the true position before connecting to the aircraft.

9 Connect the cable- pull the carpet up at the back of the drop aisle in the aft cabin.

10 Select desired channel.

11 Make certain that the engine sync switch is off.

12 Connect the cable to the laptop computer through the serial port. If the computer does not have a serial port, then use the adapter to connect to the USB port. The driver from the CD must be installed before using the adapter.

13 Turn battery power on, avionics is not necessary.

14 Open the GBSLite program. The first screen is referred to as the Express Screen.

15 Click the Transfer Module button.

16 Place PW615F in the window. Then select Download/Upload Program.

17 Select Auto in the first window. Then close this screen.

18 Choose PW615F in the upper left window.

19 To obtain the original trims, select choice 2- Trim / Upload.

20 Record the values for the N1, ITT, TLA trim, and engine serial number.

21 Click on the Close button to return to the Express Screen.

22 Remove the original EEC. The left unit is located behind panel 311CBC, and the right unit is located behind panel 312AR. Example of left installation.

23 Install the new EEC, and connect the GBS kit. Open the GBSLite program. Verify the N1 trim, ITT trim, and the engine serial number on the engine data plate.

24 Select Trim / Upload again.

25 Input pre-recorded values for N1, ITT, TLA, and engine serial number in the white box.

26 After inputting the values, select the Write button.

27 It will ask if you want to overwrite the data. Select Yes.

28 Click on the Close button to return to the Express Screen.

29 Select Trim / Upload again. Verify that the trim values have remained in the memory.

30 Repeat this for the opposite channel. Verify the TLA rigging in CDMS in accordance with the TLA Rigging Guide. Prior to starting the engines: - When the battery power is first turned on and you see the Mustang logo on the MFD: 1. Press the first softkey under the MFD. 2. Press the second softkey. 3. Press the third softkey. 4. Press the first softkey. 5. Press the last softkey. Note an A or B on each side of the N1 display. This verifies you are in the avionics maintenance mode, and will allow you to see if there are any TLD faults at the completion of the engine run. Start the engine. After reaching stabilized idle- shut the engine down and look for: - ENG CTRL SYS CAS message (Amber) - TLD Fault CAS message (White) If there are no faults present the EEC replacement is complete.
