Transcription

1 Collaboration with Agencies Quarter 1, FY 2017 Staff will provide an update of collaboration efforts through the County Administrator's Quarterly Report. The report will summarize collaboration with other agencies to improve service, enhance quality of life, & gain cost efficiencies. Our goal is to track existing efforts and to identify & explore additional collaborative opportunities. Initiated EXPANDED PARKING - NORTH PORT PUBLIC LIBRARY City of North Port CIP #83187 / Project Planning Cooperation between City and County staff to reconfigure existing parking lot and expand parking capacity. The project is out to bid with deadline of September 6, 2016 for responses. 800 MHz RADIO INFRASTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT City of North Port Regional Radio System. May 2015 Contract with Airbus; BUILDING INSPECTIONS & PLANS REVIEW City of North Port Interlocal Agreement to provide Initiated efficiencies in customer service. Revised agreement in final reviews for consideration by respective Boards DISPATCH BACKUP City of North Port Interlocal Agreement to provide essential service May 2015 Interlocal to County Commission. CITY PARK MAINTENANCE AND RECREATIONAL SERVICES City of North Port The County provides maintenance and recreational services at designated city parks. STORMWATER/BIG SLOUGH WATERSHED TOPICS City of Northport Big Slough Watershed - Issues/Projects/Discussions. Initiated in June 2015; will meet on topics as needed. PARK AND RIDE LOT City of North Port Easement Approved January 10, 2011 for a portion of a parcel of land for a North Port SCAT Park and Ride lot. County approved on March 15, Twenty-five year easement, with automatic, unlimited terms for five-year renewals. TRAFFIC SIGNAL MAINTENANCE City of North Port Efficiencies and consistency in signalization. Initial draft agreement under review.

3 HOSTING DISASTER RECOVERY SYSTEMS IN DATA CENTER City of North Port Protection of North Port systems and data in the event of a disaster. Initiated December TRAFFIC SIGNAL RETIMING PROJECT City of Sarasota Interlocal Agreement - coordinate retiming for efficiencies and consistency. EMS COVERAGE / INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT City of Sarasota Provide emergency medical services. Agreement anticipated in FY16. Temporary Venice Library is scheduled to open Tuesday, October 4, 2016; ribbon cutting celebration October 6th at 11 a.m.

6 NEW VENICE LIBRARY Planning of new Venice Library. COUNTY TREE CODE Interlocal Agreement to administer the County s Trees Code within the ; entails review and approval of tree permits associated with commercial and residential property development (including Site & Development) within the municipality. Sweet Sparkman Architects have begun the process to design the new building. Library Consultant Dick Waters and SC staff conducted 14 Focus Group sessions August Ajax/Tandem team was selected for Construction Management Services for Phase 1. Approved April 23, PUBLIC UTILITIES/ WASTEWATER TREATMENT/INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT City provides wastewater treatment services for the County. Approved MANATEE COUNTY REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT FOR FUNDING OF THE 2017 WORLD ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS SUNCOAST CAMPAIGN FOR GRADE-LEVEL READING Manatee County Manatee County Libraries Sarasota County Schools Patterson Foundation Community Foundation of SC Sarasota County and Manatee County have each authorized a combined maximum total of $5,564,000 to Suncoast Aquatic Nature Center Associates, Inc. (SANCA) for the 2017 World Rowing Championships. National initiative w/goal to ensure children attain on-grade reading ability by end of third grade. Staff collaboration on strategies. The 2017 World Rowing Championships will take place at Nathan Benderson Park from September 23, 2017 to October 1, Libraries staff is participating in meetings with Forty Carrots Family Center, the Patterson Foundation Grade Level Reading Team, the Barancik Foundation and the Sarasota Co. May 2015 Contract with Airbus; FUEL RESOURCE SHARING PUBLIC SCHOOL FACILITY PLANNING STORMWATER MONITORING (NPDES MS4 ) ATHLETIC FACILITIES County s USE OF SCHOOL BOARD FACILITIES MANAGE NETWORK & SECURITY; FIBER NETWORK SUPPORT; INTERNET SECURITY & FILTERING Sarasota County School Board Efficiencies and economies of scale for vehicle fuel buying. Sarasota County School Board Collaboration between the County, School Board and Cities to plan for future land use related to public schools. Sarasota County School Board Public Utilities Dept./Stormwater Interlocal agreement for NPDES MS4 Stormwater permit monitoring. Sarasota County School Board Allows the county to schedule athletic programming at specified facilities owned by the School Board. Sarasota County School Board Provides consistent IT support. Initiated Summer May, June 2005 July 2013; renewal underway. Initiated June 1996; agreement is being updated and anticipate it will be ready for each respective Board s approval this this Spring and implementation in the fall. PUBLIC USE OF TENNIS COURTS AT PINE VIEW SCHOOL Sarasota County School Board The County paid for the construction costs of six tennis courts at Pine View School. 9 CAMPAIGN TO END SUMMER HUNGER Sarasota County School Board Sarasota County Health & Human Services UF/IFAS Joint partnerships to help alleviate summer hunger. All SC Public Libraries participated in the Summer 2016 campaign distributing food backpacks. Three libraries served hot meals to children five days per week in partnership with the Schools and All Faiths Food Bank, under the Federal School Lunch program. 3,272 food backpacks were distributed and 2,683 hot meals were served in libraries. HOSTING PRODUCTION SYSTEMS IN DATA CENTER Sarasota County School Board Provides secure facility with Category 5 Hurricane rating and redundant power to maintain system availability. TAX COLLECTOR DATABASE SYSTEM SUPPORT Sarasota County Tax Collector Provides consistent IT support. TOWN OF LONGBOAT KEY 800 MHz RADIO INFRASTRUCTURE REPLACEMENT Town of Longboat Key Regional Radio System. May 2015 Contract with Airbus; CONSOLIDATION OF PUBLIC SAFETY ANSWERING POINT (PSAP) Town of Longboat Key Efficiencies in service. BAYFRONT PARK AND BAYFRONT PARK ADDITION Town of Longboat Key Interlocal agreement approved related to development of the Bayfront Park and Addition and future operations. The Town will oversee the management of the park project and will be responsible for maintenance for the entire park complex, including the County property. On December 8, 2015, the Board approved a Joint Project Agreement for funding a not to exceed amount of 67% or $2,000,000 as well as approved an Interlocal Agreement for park maintenance and operations by the Town. On July 12, 2016 the Board approved the 1st Amendment to each document to allow for restricted Beach Access. ADDITONAL EFFORTS UNDERWAY OR IN PROCESS GovMax FINANCIAL APPLICATION; DEVELOPED, HOSTED Various BY COUNTY; USED BY VARIOUS COUNTIES & CITIES IN U.S. Budgeting application. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY REVIEWING FEASIBILITY OF SHARING SERVICES, FINANCIAL AND TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS Town of Longboat Key Efficiencies in service. CODE RED Various County staff planning meeting with cities on potential creation of "one stop " solution for residents. County Code Red contract moving to Emergency Services and team is working on kick-off meeting with Cities and users to consider on Code Red contract.
