2 Page 1 Introduction A Data Centre is a highly controlled environment that provides IT to external organisations seeking to outsource their requirements in to state of the art managed facilities. The requirement for these facilities to be in operation 24/7 is paramount. They require large cooling and electrical plant installations to provide resilience, whether they are running on or off the national grid. They also require fibre connections from multiple providers to offer diverse connectivity to worldwide networks. brightsolid have been operating their own data centre s since 2005; with a strong heritage in connectivity they have maintained an industry leading uptime record throughout their operation and expansion. All brightsolid facilities are purpose built with the customer at the core. brightsolid Aberdeen has been specially architected to accommodate data intensive deployments (power to cool up to 25kW per rack) and designed for rapid scalability with a modular approach to power supply and distribution. Externally audited and accredited by ISO 27001:2013 and ISO 22301:2012 brightsolid facilities operate high, Government approved levels of security, passing Official Sensitive requirements. From day one on-net connectivity providers will include SSE, Vodaphone, RigNet, Harris Caprock, Commsworld, Converged and Tampnet. The DC will be concurrently maintainable with no single point of failure to the critical services or capacity components. In order to meet the requirements of uptime institute Tier III all equipment is reinforced with two power supplies or utilises in-rack STSs for for single corded equipment. 2 Some IT equipment is provided in non-standard racks with unusual power and cooling requirements.
