7 1 USING THE CELLICA DATABASE ON THE IPHONE Run the CellicaDBAW application on iphone by tapping on. 1.1 Connect iphone with Desktop iphone devices can be connected with Cellica Database Server software using Desktop Name of the computer where Cellica Database desktop software has been installed. This version does not require setting the "Application Type" and "Desktop Name" on your ios device. Please use "Sync" option in menu on home screen of Cellica Database application to sync your profiles and forms assigned to this device from desktop software. 8 Figure 1: Desktop Name Note: If you have any third party firewall software, you must allow incoming and outgoing connections for Cellica Database software. 1.2 Forms and Profile List on iphone When you will open the software now on iphone, you will get Sample Form listed there. Default screen of Cellica Database software shows both Profiles and Forms. This will import profiles as well as your Forms Form View To view a form, tap on required form name under Forms tab on Home Screen. Here we have shown Sample form. Update your record and use Save button to save the changes. Form will ask confirmation for saving updated record. Following screen shows confirmation dialog. Use Yes button to save the changes. Find action button work according to its Option property which you set while designing the form on desktop application. Find action button supports Default, Barcode Scan & Advance Search options as Option to perform search on device accordingly Default Find button with Option property set to Default will show default search options on device as shown in following figure. On scanning the desired barcode, search result will be displayed on the form Advance Search Tap on the find button with option Advance Search will show advance search options on device as shown in following figure. Search Date a) = (Equal to) Records with same date in selected field(s). b) (Not equal to) Records which are not having same date in selected field(s). c) Between Records which have date values between two specified dates in selected field(s). d) Not Between Records which do not have date values between two specified dates in selected field(s). 2. Search Number a) = (Equal to) Records with same number in selected field(s). b) (Not Equal to) Records which are not having same number in selected field(s). c) (Less than) - Records which have value less than number in selected field(s). Following example will illustrate you how to search number between specified range. First select the field in which you want to search number between specified range. You need to tap on Search within option of Advance Search then column list of profile will be displayed as shown in following figure. 18 Once you have selected the desired field to be search within then you need to tap on Search Number option of Advance Search then following screen will be displayed to enter number for search. You need to select the operator Between to search number between specified ranges. See following figure. Once you have selected the operator Between to search number between specified ranges then you need to enter two numbers separately as shown in following figure. 21 1.3.6 Add/Edit/Delete data on sub form To update the data on subform (If you are using Grid control on subform), you must put New/Edit/Delete Button control on subform Image Control on iphone Image (Unbound) control is use to map the particular picture with respective record. User can map the picture available in Saved Photos or Photo Library on iphone. Tap twice on picture control available on form to select the picture you want. 25 1.3.9 Send record data as a.pdf You can send particular record data on form in.pdf format by . Tap on of the form. Using image editing view supports following image editing tools, Filter, Adjustment, Effect, Blur & Focus, Rotate, Crop, Resize, Tone Curve, Emotions, Sticker, Text etc. You can open image in Image Editing View in new/edit mode of form. (E.g. primary, secondary & tertiary) Step 2: Tap on No Field Selected to select field of grid on which you want to apply sort. 38 1.4 Profile List on iphone Once you finished profile creation on desktop side, Use icon on home screen to import profile created on desktop. You can automatically sync data from PC by setting Auto Sync Time from Preferences of Cellica Database on iphone. Auto Sync will work only when application on iphone is open. Single Record View Mulitple Record View This view is to view database contents in multiple records. In multiple record view to move left and right, horizontally swipe to left or right and Drag your finger up and down on iphone to scroll up and down. Select the Column name in which you want search data. If the data, which you want to find is in more than one record then you will get a dialog, which will show in how many records your search data is and you can view search result in Multiple Record View Create Database on iphone Use More options button on home screen of Cellica Database to get the menu Template Manager. This menu will call Template Manager Form. Using this form user can create Standard Template as well as Custom Template, also Manage Template option allows user to delete the Templates created on iphone. It can be very useful in events such as if same record is updated from desktop and device, IN such a case device side record is get overwrite by desktop version of record. Cellica Database has provided some templates like MembershipInfo, Softwareserialnumber, Bankaccount, Contacts etc. Use Standard option from Template Manager Form to select standard database. User can implement it from Design View. On Multiple Records View, first select "Design View" from More Options, then select specific column name for which you want multiple values (Lookup). If user wants to add predefined values for specific text fields, he can do it from Design View. Select specific column name, which have text data type and you want to multiple values to that field. Now use Add button and you will get screen which will show edit box, here enter text value you want to add. If want to set entered value as a default value for that text field, then click ON button. 59 How to use predefined value Figure 40: Select value from predefined values While adding new record or updating record, user can select value from predefined values or enter new value for particular text field. Above image shows that default value has been set to United States but user can update this value or select other value from predefined values using Select Value option Preferences In Preferences form you can change, Syncing option, Date and Time formats, various Font and Font size. 60 Connection Settings This is view only setting. You can see "Application Type" (and "Desktop Name"). Once you sync your profiles and forms assigned to this device from desktop software by using "Sync" option on home screen of Cellica Database application. Figure 41: Connection Settings Administrative Settings These settings will be received from desktop application which administrator can assign to your device. 1) Sync Mode: i) Manual Sync ii) Auto Sync If Sync Mode is Auto Sync then user can set following options a) Stop instant auto sync. = On/Off - If this option is Off then record save/remove will be sync instantly on device. 61 - If this option is On then record save/remove will not be sync instantly on device. User need to sync manually. b) Refresh auto number column data = On/Off - If this option is On with option Stop Instant auto sync is Off then on device with new record save of auto number profile the auto number will get updated. - If this option is Off then on device with new record save of auto number profile the auto number will not be updated. 2) Startup Form: Startup form can be applied from desktop and after sync it will be set on device. Administrator will set permissions on desktop application for device preferences as mentioned below, a) Don t Show = on device Administrative Settings will not be displayed. b) Show But don t Allow to change = on device Administrative Settings will be displayed but not allowed to change. c) Allow to change = On device Administrative Settings will be displayed and allowed to change if user enter correct preferences password applied from desktop.. 62 Figure 42: Administrative Settings Synchronization Settings In Synchronization Settings, Default option has been set to Auto. Auto sync option, will synchronize your data automatically according to time set for AutoSync Time. This will work when Cellica Database application open on ipad. Also this Auto mode, sync your updated record immediately to Server after Add/Edit/Delete records. If you do not want to sync data with desktop after each update on device, then set Syncing Mode to Manual. Now to synchronize with desktop database, you need to use icon on Home Screen. Home Screen Settings Home screen settings are not allowed to change in device application; it will be set from desktop application by Administrator. Figure 44: Home Screen Settings B. Startup Form If Startup form is applied by administrator from desktop application after sync it will be set on device. You can set any form as Startup form if administrator granted the permission to change it. Startup form will get displayed on starting the device application of Cellica Database. 64 Figure 45: Startup Form Data Security User can also set Password Cellica Database Anywhere application. User can secure data by using Password protection feature. From Preferences, select Password option and change status of OFF button to ON. Now New Password dialog will appear, here enter password you want to set. Now whenever user will open the Cellica Database Anywhere application on ipad, it will ask for password. If want to remove password protection, change ON button to OFF, software will ask for password, enter proper password and your password will be disabled. 69 Image Settings Image Quality: You can set image quality of image data to be add/update image record on form or profile. Then image will be saved according to this quality in record. You can use it on profile grid search button to search accordingly this search mode Instant Barcode Scan: You can use this option if search mode is Barcode and Instant barcode scan option is set to ON. If OFF, on new/edit mode keyboard will not display next/prev button. 73 2 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are questions that our customers routinely ask us or about. We divided FAQ in two different sections. 2.1 Desktop How to get UDID of iphone? To get UDID, connect your device to your Mac/PC and launch itunes. In itunes, select your device in the Devices section and navigate to the Summary tab. Click on the Serial Number label to reveal the Identifier field and the 40 characters UDID. In upper right corner of form, record number will be in cyan color. Red color indicates that Record has problem while syncing with desktop database. In upper right corner of form, record will be in Red color. By clicking on Edit or Delete button, you will get information related with record syncing process. On Sub-form, if you are using Sub-form Grid control then, Particular record will show cyan or red color.
