4 Description DB2 Audit Management Expert for Multiplatforms V1.1.0 DB2 Audit Management Expert tracks, analyzes, and reports on access and changes made to DB2 data. It provides detail on who made changes to the data as well as where and when the changes were made. The tool can be used by auditors, database administrators (DBAs), and security administrators to deliver accurate, timely data and reports for use in internal and external auditing activities. Auditors are not required to be privileged users on the system they are auditing, so database security is preserved. This enables auditors to do database auditing work without DBA involvement. In a similar fashion, DBAs and security administrators can use the tool to ensure their system is audit ready. With an easy-to-use interface, DB2 Audit Management Expert lets you view all reported activity (such as read, change, and utility access) on selected DB2 objects and generate meaningful reports on the data collected in the audit repository. The reporting interface is designed for auditors to facilitate common auditing tasks such as determining who updated a particular object in a certain time frame or monitoring unauthorized access for specific systems or objects. In addition, where a significant auditing exposure is suspected, DB2 Audit Management Expert allows an authorized auditor to investigate the exposure by reviewing what data has been changed in the system. Filter policies can be defined for the collection of audit data. Data collection can be filtered based on any combination of: DB2 objects DB2 user IDs Applications connecting to DB2 Time The filters can be exported or imported using XML files to other audit servers, or assigned to another DB2 system within the same audit server. This allows filters created for common tables, such as SAP, to be created once and then used at other DB2 servers where the same application tables are installed. Robust reporting options enable auditors to view and report on data from several perspectives: Overview of all DB2 instances being monitored Detail view of activity for a selected database Drill down for a particular type of activity for a selected object The separate user-friendly administration interface enables the DB2 AME administrators to easily define entities such as users and groups and collection criteria. The interface presents administrative tasks in readily identifiable categories such as Users, Groups, and Collection Profiles. It employs a series of easy-to-use wizards to guide the administrator through each administrative task. Where analysis of changed data is needed, the log analysis feature gives you the ability to: View who modified audited tables in a DB2 system and see the actual changes made to the tables. Set filtering criteria for reporting data changes by date ranges and Insert, Update, and Delete activity. Easily input the information needed for log analysis. Selection capability is provided to allow you to refine the amount of information returned. IBM Database Encryption Expert for Linux, UNIX, and Windows, V1.1 IBM Encryption Expert protects data from unauthorized access by encrypting the data, which most regulatory compliance laws either require or highly recommend. The product enables you to encrypt offline database backups and to perform online encryption and encryption of the live database files. 5 Offline backup data is often subject to theft and loss. Backups are typically written to portable media that is often stored at a remote location for long periods of time. Online data is constantly subject to internal threats. Attackers can break through perimeter security. Privileged users might abuse their rights to certain data. In addition, data is often replicated to many locations. IBM Encryption Expert addresses all of these critical issues by enabling DBAs to control the data, quickly encrypt the data, set policies, and control encryption key usage. Key features include: Protect database backups by using the offline encryption support Compress database backups to save storage space Ensure privacy and enable compliance Encrypt at high speeds Control which keys are used, and audit key usage Control where data restores can occur DataQuant for Multiplatforms V1.2.0 (5724-R90) DataQuant for Multiplatforms V1.2.0 delivers a powerful graphical reporting environment that enables you to quickly and easily develop executive dashboards, information portals, and interactive data visualization solutions. This includes dozens of easy-to-use charts, controls, and graphics that you can drag and drop to quickly create dashboards and reports. Enhancements include: Extended reporting capabilities DB2 9.5 support for Linux, UNIX, and Windows Support for popular MDX-based OLAP servers capable of supporting XMLA connectivity Enhanced OLAP charts, grids, and layouts, providing a means of adding OLAP data to reports and interactive dashboards The ability to generate reports in the increasingly popular BIRT reporting format. The new releases offer: Day-one exploitation of DB2 9.5: DB2 High Performance Unload V3.2 immediately supports DB2 9.5 in the following ways: Full support for the new DB2 DECFLOAT data type. This new data type helps perform decimal arithmetic, giving more expected results than the binary float. Because of this support, many financial applications use DECIMAL rather than FLOAT. This new IEEE standard (IEEE 754R) data type improves performance with the accuracy expected. Callable as a stored procedure: Version 3.2 provides a simple procedure that you can use to make HPU invocable as a DB2 stored procedure. Prior to this release, HPU was only invocable as an operating system (not DB2) command. The stored procedure makes it easier for you to invoke HPU from DB2 programs and scripts. New command line options: Several options that were previously only available in a control file are now supported on the command line, helping to eliminate the need to construct and manage an HPU control file. This single database model simplifies configuration and improves maintainability and scalability. A migration tool is provided to migrate existing performance databases from a previous version of DB2 Performance Expert to the single performance database. Day-one support for DB2 9.5: DB2 Performance Expert runs on DB2 9.5 and monitors DB2 9.5 databases. New snapshot counters and configuration parameters in DB2 9.5 are collected by the Performance Expert Server and are available in all of the Performance Expert components, such as the online and history monitoring, the Performance Warehouse, and Exception Processing. Integrated Workload Management (WLM) tooling solution: DB2 Performance Expert now complements the DB2 WLM features by providing easy monitoring of WLM entities, statistics, and activities over time and validates the WLM design. This new feature helps DBAs to understand the WLM definitions and the statistics for service classes, workloads, and work classes. It also provides history data (short-term and long-term). 7 WebSphere Replication Server distributes, consolidates, and synchronizes data for high availability, high throughput, and business continuity. Two approaches are provided for asynchronous, log-based data replication: SQL-based replication Q replication These approaches can be used independently or together for maximum flexibility and function. Version 9.5 strengthens the previously available SQL and Q replication offering with significant performance improvements for increased scalability and many enhancements that simplify administration and monitoring for Q replication. In addition, a new Q replication target type (Consistent Changed Data tables (CCDs)) enables new solutions for auditing and analysis applications and an opportunity for SQL replication customers to leverage the low latency and higher throughput of Q replication for more of their workload. SQL-based replication: For heterogeneous database environments, WebSphere Replication Server includes SQL-based replication, which maximizes flexibility in managing scheduling, transformation, and distribution topologies for populating warehouses or marts. It also maintains data consistency between applications and efficiently manages distribution and consolidation scenarios among headquarters and branch or retail configurations. Data can be filtered either horizontally or vertically so that only the data of interest is replicated. Transformation can be applied inline with the data movement via standard SQL expressions or stored procedure execution. Data movement can be automated on a specific schedule, at designated intervals, continuously, or event-driven. Data movement can be managed table-at-a-time such as for warehouse loading during a batch window or with transaction consistency for data that is never offline. DB2, Informix Dynamic Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase SQL Server, and Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprises are supported as replication sources and targets. Informix Extended Parallel Server and Teradata are supported as replication targets. Q replication: WebSphere Replication Server provides Q replication for low-latency, highthroughput replication with managed conflict detection and resolution to support business continuity, workload distribution, and application integration requirements. Committed changes are published to WebSphere MQ message queues. A sophisticated apply engine determines transaction dependencies and replays transactions on target systems to maximize parallelism and minimize latency. A rich set of conflict detection and resolution algorithms are available to allow backup systems to do productive work so that application workload can be distributed across multiple servers. Data can be filtered so that only the data of interest is replicated. Stored procedures can be invoked by the apply engine in order to facilitate transformations for application integration scenarios. Automatic and high-performance load options are integrated. Because the work is made parallel or "parallelized," target data can be loaded at the same time changed data is being replicated. Data can be replicated to and from DB2 databases and from DB2 databases to other relational database management systems like Informix, Oracle, MS SQL Server, and Sybase. WebSphere Data Event Publisher V9.5.0 WebSphere Data Event Publisher facilitates business integration by linking changed-data events with business processes. Changed-data events are captured and published as WebSphere MQ messages that can be used by other applications and tools to drive subsequent processing. Changed-data can be encoded as an XML document or in delimited format, such as comma-separated values. 8 Application-to-application: Changes to operational customer data can be pushed to a customer relationship management (CRM) application. Business process initiation: Adding a customer record can initiate a new-customer workflow that might include a welcome , credit verification, and an update to the CRM system. Critical data event monitoring: Changed-data event monitoring allows events such as low inventory levels to be used to initiate related processes such as product restocking. Data population: Data changes in operational systems can be fed to WebSphere DataStage or another extract, transform, and load (ETL) product that then populates a data warehouse, data mart, or operational data store with the charges.
