1 FAQ s Frequently Asked Questions about the Competition "To Death with a Smile" 2015 These are some frequently asked questions regarding the way to participate: A) Does my poster need to have the the "To Death with a Smile" or "A la Muerte con una Sonrisa" text included in the design? No, it is not necessary to include these texts or any other, but you can do so if you like. You can include any text or no text at all. B) How can I be sure I am registered for the contest? When you register on our website as a "MUMEDI Friend", make sure you have selected the "2015 To Death with a Smile Contest" as one of your interests. And you are ready to participate, remember to send the complete document signed on each page with you CD and a copy of your ID. C) If my country does not appear in the list when I register as a MUMEDI Friend, what can I do? Can I still participate? Anybody that is older than 18 years from any country can participate. Unfortunately our system has some countries missing like Iran and Cuba, and we are trying to fix it. Meanwhile you can send all you personal information to info@mumedi.org and we will register you personally. D) Should I include me name or credit on the poster? No, your credit or name, will be included on the exhibit pieces after the judges have chosen the winners so the there will be no foul play. And for any reproductions made afterwards the following text will be included in 10 points text: MUMEDI, Mexican Museum of Design "To Death with a Smile" 2015 Exhibit, Author: Name and Last Name

2 E) Can I put a logo on my poster? No, please do not include any kind of logos, trademarks, symbols or signatures. F) Can I send more than one poster in one envelope? Each poster you send, should be sent in one envelope including all the documentation signed. But you can put many of this envelopes in one larger envelope and have it sent to MUMEDI. Even if the posters belong to different designers. G) Where can I find the registration documents or how can I get them? The PDF is the Entries and Contests section at click on the botton that says Download requirements and the pdf file will be downloaded to your computer. If you still can not find it, please write us to info@mumedi.org and we will be happy to send it to you. H) Do I have to pay some amount of money to participate? No, these contest is free. I) Do I have to send a printed poster? No you only have to send the electronic file in JPG file format, in RGB color in 200 dp's and 60 x 90 cm in vertical format. J) When is the deadline for delivering our posters? The new deadline is October K) If it is to expensive for somebody from my country me to send my poster via courier like DHL, will I be able to send it by the Internet? Yes, we are conscious that for some participants from some cities and countries, the cost, distance and time makes it very difficult to send their posters. So do not worry, you are authorized to send your poster files by Google s Drive, WeTransfer or DropBox to info@mumedi.org that is very easy to use and if you send one file at a time, you can do it for free or you can use other similar electronic systems.

3 But remember you have to send all the signed documents via postal service, even if they arrive after the poster file. L) If I win, would you be able to send the prizes to my country of origin? Of course, but the way it is sent, will be determined on each winning case, because in each country things might be completely different. M) How can I be sure that I am registered in the contest? When you register online as a " MUMEDI Firend" and selecting the contest "To Death with a Smile" 2015 as one of your interests. After sending your proposal on time with all documents MUMEDI and fulfilling each and every one of the requirements requested. T) Where I can get the PDF of the call and application forms? The PDF is in site in section "Contests and calls" there you will find all information on the contest "To Death with a Smile". In case you have trouble downloading the PDF, you can request to info@mumedi.org U) Now much do I have to pay to enter the competition? No, registration is free of charge. V) At what resolution should I send my images? As indicated in the call file should measure 60 x 90 inches at 200 DPIs minimum and maximum resolution 300 DPI's. W) What should be the subject or theme of the poster? The theme of the poster is on the subject of death, whether it be a personal reflection, the meaning in our culture or country, as we fear, celebrate or overcome death, etc. You can see all posters from contests in so you can find inspiration that way but also avoid common themes and images. X) Can I use images downloaded from the internet or scanned from magazines? Remember that you must be the author of every image you use, you should avoid the use images on which you have no copyright.

5 Y) What are the measurements that should my proposal? 60 cm wide x 90 tall, RGB color, 200 DPI'sy in JPG.. Z) I can use photographs from an image bank or free stock photos? You have to be very careful with this type of image, many of these have restrictions on use and could fall into a legal dispute. Also, I authorize that my poster may be modified so it can be visualized in 3D, in case it is selected by MUMEDI s jury to be part of a special exhibition of some of the participants work.
